Is there a function similar to Daimond and Pearls Marking map in Heart Gold? If so does it allow tracking of the wandering pokemon in the same way or is it back to the old school Tracking method?

I guess you're down to Brick Break and Mach Punch, but those attacks are nearly half and a quarter of Close Combat's power, respectively. The decrease really isn't worth it. Don't worry about the defense drops, just make sure you clear the opponents team of Scizor before you bring in Ape to sweep.

I've got a Lucario I'm using in the D/P BT, and it currently is the standard SD EV spread, and moveset of SD, extreme speed, crunch, and close combat. I was wondering, seeing as how I am going to be using him for the battle tower, not actual battling would it be more beneficial to use a different move instead of SD? Such as EQ, Stone Edge, Poison Jab, or blaze kick (I have another UT with blaze kick)?

My other team members are currently garchomp and starmie, with garchomp lead...

I think Swords Dance will still be good. And for heaven's sake DON'T use Stone Edge in the battle tower! One miss is all it takes to end your streak.

haha alright. I just ask cause I don't have a legit pokemon I can send out first to help make set up easier, and last time I tried to set up on a forretress, thinking I was fine, it used EQ and KOed me out of my streak (obviously I need to do more research and I would have seen that coming), so I wasn't sure if going with blaze kick might be a better option!

You mean latias? infernape resists steel and can ohko scizor.

Why isn't extremespeed listed as an option on the Dragonite CB set? It's there for the anti-lead, but not for the CB set and it seems quite good, almost like scizor's bullet punch.

ExtremeSpeed doesn't hit anything for super effective damage. Plus, ExtemeSpeed isn't STABed to boot. In my opinion, Dragonite has such an expansive moveset that its better to utilize those precious spots for wall-breaking and inflicting heavy damage. With moves such as Outrage, Aqua Tail, Superpower, many top threats are eliminated, where as ExtremeSpeed does not accomplish any of those tasks. However, that does not mean that ExtremeSpeed isn't viable at all. Its still a very capable alternative and can prove to be useful in certain circumstances, like picking off weakened foes such as Latias and Infernape.

Although, its quite possible that the Choice Banded set analysis needs to be revamped to take into account the addition of ExtremeSpeed in its movepool.

Using a 252 Choice Banded Adamant Dragonite's ExtremeSpeed:

Against a 0/0 Infernape: 66.6% - 78.5%
Against a 0/0 Latias: 53% - 62.6%

I was considering the fact that scizor does >50% to -1 Ape, which will bring an Ape sweep to an abrupt end, especially if it's taken SR and LO damage prior. Latias is of course a counter, I was just thinking of priority revenge-killing.

Will you get EVs for running away from a Wild Pokemon or Catching a Wild Pokemon?

i.e. If my leading Pokemon encounters a Sandshrew in the wild, and I run away from it/catch it, will my leading Pokemon still gain +1 Defense EVs (assuming I have no EV boosting item held)?

I was using the IV applet and I am looking for good spreads to try and RNG for on some legendies.......I know they need to be method 1 ability 0, but what should the gender number be if they are genderless/or they are cresslia?????

It can be anything. The gender numbers don't apply to fixed gender or genderless Pokemon.
The ability can be anything also - a Pokemon with one ability will have that ability no matter what the bit is.

How many speed EV's would a + speed nature Electrode that is not holding an item need to outspeed most common leads? I've been having a few troubles with my Electrode set when it is stuck battling a Pokemon that I don't want to explode on (e.g. the opponent switched to a Gengar expecting explosion, or the opponent sent out a steel type lead), so I want to test out some different EV spreads and see if I can maximize Thunderbolt's damage without sacrificing too much speed

Also, which common leads are a major threat to Electrode, assuming Electrode has 252 Speed EV's and a + speed nature? So far, only one I have had trouble with is Choice Scarf Azelf (mind you, being stuck using Thief against an Azelf isn't the WORST thing possible. It is still irritating however, since it prevents me from setting up a screen effectively, and forces me to choose between blowing up, or using thunderbolt). Even Aerodactyl isn't a problem, as the Focus Sash Electrode steals lets it survive the EQ, and gives it the chance to T-Bolt Aerodactyl, set up a screen, or be saved until later to absorb a status move/blow up a major irritant (Although trying to switch in a Pokemon with 1 HP left is difficult due to SR >.>)
