Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm having A LOT of trouble advancing to the target frame (for wild RNG abuse) I can hit the target time nearly every attempt. I can't figure out how to find the frame a pokemon was caught in with RNG Reporter either (so I don't know whether I'm advancing too much or too little)

I've read what advances the frame no less than 100 times, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. There are no NPCs in the area I'm at, either =/

78 journal flips + 2 steps in grass + sweet scent should put the pokémon encounter at frame 160, right? o.o
Two things that you'll need to check with your math. 1) Do you have any roaming pokemon out? Each one out advances the frame by one. 2) Are you taking a step, or turning? If you're walking, there's a chance that you are going over the 128 steps, advancing the frame by the number of pokemon in your party. 3) Are you hitting the delay as well as the time?

As for finding out what frame you are hitting, use the Seed Finder and insert the information needed to determine your seed. Click okay, and it will bring you back to the main page for the RNG Reporter. Change Method to J, and select your synchronizer nature if you're using one. If not, leave it at none. Then set some of the IVs of the pokemon you caught into the boxes to the left. Put in atleast 3 of them, and select the nature of the caught pokemon and click genearte. Then find the spread you hit, and see what frame to hit.

Sorry about the long wall of text.

In regards to the roaming NPC's when you're are trying to breed...
Do they need to be onscreen when the move to affect the save frame?
Or is it that even if they move, you're screwed?
Thanks :3

cmon...

From the guide:

Legendary Birds (Pre Elite 4)

The legendary birds are handled as Method 1 Pokémon...
Yes I read that, but I am RNG'ing for Post E4 birds and I didn't know if it was the same or not. Now I know. Thank you.

@SparkTEHfuze: omg heybro wassup??? I think it's just within your screen, not the entire town because I'm pretty sure DPPt runs on a function that anything outside of your view is disabled from moving (otherwise there'd be uber lag), but don't take my word for it.

That makes sense :P
If someone else could confirm, that'd be great! :D
Cause then I can make only one NPC on the screen, lol xD

They do. If not, it'd be easier to abuse for egg IVs, by just making it so only 0-1 are on screen. If the ones off screen didn't, then I don't know how I had an initial frame of 8 yesterday with just one on screen.

Again, from the guide --

"All Wandering NPCs in a zone will advance the RNG even if they are not on the same screen as the player character..."

Having successfully hatched 3 eggs with the required spreads, for my 4th attempt I wanted to save the egg and hatch a clone to have both shiny and normal versions.
This was successful but I wonder if what I did was a reliable method or if I just got lucky.
When I enter the game world and speak to the Day Care Man I've been noting Buneary’s position in relation to the fence. Trying to gauge the time it's taken me to press A. If Buneary has moved farther than normal then chance is that I'll have a higher frame from the NPCs.
So when I started Frame Calibration for my save I first got Frame 6. Next go I hit A to speak to the DCM late and Buneary is 3 steps further along. I check the Frame and still get Frame 6. (Neither of these is the delay I want). I did 1 further calibration with journal flips included, then hit my delay, talk to the DCM with Buneary stopped in the 'window', and saved the egg.
So if I can find a similar save in the future, where it seems that the NPCs are still when I need them to be, would they behave consistently?
Thanks.

It should. I do a similar thing, except I guage by using the drop down in the top left that says I'm in Solaceon. Usually I hit A when it's half way down, and that usually helps me when I abuse.

I have been using RNG for awhile now and have been using it for shiny eggs. I know how to get a specific nature but is there a way to use the program to get a specific hidden power as well from a egg. Thanks for the help :)

@Zattanna
For that you have to abuse for egg IVs.
There is a guide on the OP =).
bearsfan has videos up in youtube aswell.

HG stuff:
Initial seed: 52160413
Frame: 1757
Spread: B/30/31/12/29/B

The frame is not too much of a problem. Just down at the route go around with bike in the patches.

Anyways I noticed that A is not inherited properly. Maybe it has been discussed before, but could anyone tell me the reason?

I had Ditto in first(flawless ditto) and the IVs inherited for A was 1 instead of 31. That happened twice at different frames.

Thanks

Nope, I've caught all of my roamers. I'm also just taking 2 steps straight up. As for the delay, yes I've hit that as well :)

Okay, DON'T take the steps. Do 2 turns in a grass patch instead. There's a small chance you are adding even more advancements by walking. Also, are you finding the same pokemon everytime you hit the delay and advancing the frame correctly? IVs, nature, ability, etc.

Nope. And I save in the grass to do that, right?

Proably a stupid question for you pros but...
I am currently trying to IV RNG, and I faced a few problems.

1.When I did the frame calibration steps-

I.Save infront of the daycare man.

II.Reset, mash thru the screens, exit journal menu ASAP (The first page have a message that states I beat/captured a Wingull, does this affect the frame?)

III.Get the egg, Flew to Battle Area, caught a random poke, found the initial seed.

IV.Hatch the egg and determine which frame I hit.

Am i doing this right? I got results between 8-10

2.How do you determine your starting frame? Is it random? And does the capture/beat Pokemon message in the first page affect the frame?

if your frame number is between 8-10, its possible the NPC's are moving the frame. It seems like your doing everything else correct though, I guess just be mad quick in getting the egg

You hatch your egg and find out what frame you landed on! Match it up with the IVs found for that delay in RNG reporter, and from there you should be able to determine how many Journal flips you need to do before collecting the egg next time.

And... how do you determine the starting frame? I mashed a like mad when I got into the game

You answered your own question, the frame you hit most commonly is the frame you should use, 8, 9, or 10

So... The starting frame is the most commonly appeared frame during calibration?

Does a message stating you killed/caught a poke in the first journal page advance the RNG?
