Yes. The different Deoxys Formes (and for that matter the different Rotom, Giratina, Shaymin, and Arceus Formes in DPPt) are all considered the same species.

When is the Nature for the Wandering Dog in FR set? (Yes I know they have horrible IV's so don't bother telling me that.)

How effective is kadabra as a sweeper in GSC? I tried using a freshly evolved lv. 16 one on Whitney, but she completely destroyed it.

Should do fairly well. Dark types aren't too common ingame IIRC. Kadabra is frail though - at level 16 I think you're rather lower than Whitney's Pokemon, which is probably why you lost - anything you don't OHKO will cause you problems.

I agree with cantab. Using very frail Pokémon is somewhat inadvisable in-game, as the gym leaders tend to have bulkier Pokémon. While Kadabra has a great movepool and is powerful, meaning it should be good, you'll want higher-levelled, tankier Pokémon on your team as well for taking on Whitney. Her Clefairy is lv. 18 and her Miltank is lv. 20. I suggest you go grind a little to get your party up to scratch =) Accuracy / atk-reducing moves can be helpful, or sleep moves.

Are there any battle mechanic changes between these versions?

JP Red/Green --> JP Blue --> JP Pokemon Stadium--> Red/Blue --> Yellow

What versions are able to connect to each other? (Including Pokemon Stadium)

Different language versions have a tendancy to currupt each other when connected together, iirc. (So, Japanese & US can't connect due to language issues, but UK and US can, as they use the same language)

I know that there's some fixed moves in Stadium, including Focus Energy & Hyper Beam. I can't confirm about the Japanese games, however. On the handheld cartridges both moves were glitched.

I know all the japanese games can connect to any japanese version of Stadium (I had a friend with an english hack version of the Green cartridge, and that could connect to the UK copy of Stadium & Stadium 2 perfectly)

Non RBY Specific:

So regarding each pokemon version, what are the different sub-versions for each region in the world? Are versions in different languages the same game as the region they are assigned to?

RBY Specific:

Did the games in the first generation have different sub-versions for each region or was it solely language differences?

Thanks for the answer, gunbladelad, btw.

For RBY and GSC, I think it's only language for the handheld games. To my knowledge a US Red will be identical to a UK Red, for example.

For the console games, both television standards (NTSC vs PAL) and console region coding come into play.

For Platinum and later games, European versions have removed the playable slot machines, because PEGI (the European games rating board, equivalent to the US's ESRB) would give the games a higher rating if they'd been included.

Most people time from a soft-reset.
Well that's what confused me; the article about RNG talks about SRing, so I wasn't sure. I kind of figured that it didn't include the intro screen (since there'd be no point for there to be any RNGing during that time since you can't actually do anything gameplay-wise), but I just wanted to make sure.

Is there any cheat to evolve Pokemons that evolve when traded? I'm going to play Crystal on emu and something like Alakazam and Scizor and Machamp would be awesome.

I want to breed Earthquake onto a baby Rhyhorn in Fire Red, but I don't have a female Rhyhorn who knows it.
As it's also a TM move, could I breed it onto the Rhyhorn with a Nidoran Male who knows it? Or since Rhyhorn levels up to get this move, won't it work?

My guess is it's wanted for Little Cup.
I think because it's a TM move, it should inherit from just the father.

I'm having a bit of a problem in Blue version. Every time I chuck any type of pokeball (havent tried Master abll yet) it says that it misses the pokemon (Moltres). It only happens with legendaries and the second Snorlax I fought. Can any one tell me whats wrong and how to catch it?

That does happen sometimes. I'm not sure what the chance is, or whether it varies with ball or with HP or status of the legendary. It shouldn't happen every time though. Try throwing 20 more balls - if they all miss, then maybe something's weird.

hmm i remember that happening with the birds...

you need to get it to low (1) hp and sleep it. hold down A while you throw it. maybe use screech on it too for fun. also, i always had better success catching when I had a more powerful pokemon out than the pokemon i was trying to catch (e.g. instead of leaving your level 15 sleeper out while you throw the pokemon, send out your level 60 starmie).

haven't touched a gameboy in like a decade though, so idk...

What's the first thing in XD that gets Sunny Day by purification, or, when can you first get the Sunny Day TM? Also, for an (ingame, of course) XD Sun team, should Eevee evolve into Flareon or a supporter like Umbreon?
