No earth shattering info, but it's nice that they ARE thinking about ways to improve/change the VGCs. :) I'd spend 15 mins on the pokethalon for the chance to win a DSi or whatever. Why not?
Well, actually you're wrong there; after people took the quiz, TPCI gave a date to expect the "you've been selected!" email by. If you didn't get the email by that date, then you could try for the no-show lottery. It was way before two days before the qualifier date though. ;( More like two or three weeks minimum.

Does anyone know what the quiz was like? I mean like the questions? Probably wasn't too hard but I'm curious.
Also, call me hopeful, but maybe it is possible there could be regional tourney's in cities across the US. While the official site said "cities across the globe," it's a possibility. Although unlikely. It's probably not likely to be in retrospect, now that nationals has been announced.

The quiz was pretty easy. I just asked some questions about weaknesses, berries, tms, etc... Honestly if you were smart you could just look it up on the internet. There was a time limit but it was like 20 minutes so you had plenty of time.

No, it's also for the VGC. TCG Nats and VGC Nats are in the same place...I think Worlds is too, but I don't play the TCG, so I don't really know.
You are correct. VGC and TCG at nationals and worlds are the same event.
UltimateDra, you wouldn't happen to know the locations of any regionals in the Midwest, would you?
Most likely not. Unless ultimatedra is some sort of insider, none of us know where any regionals are.
By the way, I'm curious, where in the Midwest are you? With the Nationals going down in Indianapolis, a drive there might be semi-reasonable. My plans are tentative at the moment, but I might make the three-hour drive down to Indy.
I'm in Michigan dude, going to nationals, my mom has some friends down there, so yeah, I live up by Ferris State.
I am going to test my VGC team up until the event. Practice makes perfect.

Well it depends. If you go Hasty, priority moves like Ice Shard and Sucker Punch will be that much harder to deal with, and more Giratina will be guaranteed to OHKO you with Shadow Force (Giratina with a neutral nature and 100 attack EVs does 100% minimum to Hasty Mewtwo). If you go Naive you have to deal with...well, everything else.
I know, but I'm not running Mewtwo. I'm actually one of those Sucker Punch users you mentioned. I wanted to get a general idea of what would be most common so I know how much attack I would need to be close to a 2HKO (or a OHKO if I could) w/ it. I'm trying to get in some more last-minute calculations now that I have the Pokemon and IV yields.

There was a rule last year at Worlds that a player already competing in the VGC is not permitted to participate in the TCG. VGC takes higher priority since VGC is based on guaranteed spots, while TCG you get in via Last Chance Qualifier (at least for Worlds). As for Nationals, I doubt they'll let you compete in the Nationals qualifying round. Also, I doubt there will be ANY player who can get in for VGC AND get in Nationals via Rating.
I'm wondering if anyone will take advantage of the Ubers rule by using Pokemon that are deemed Uber by our standards, but not by theirs (ie, Latios, Garchomp).
I mean, if you have two uber spots filled already, why not give one to someone like, say, Latios, who can do just as well in Ubers but is still allowed to be used.

I'm sure people will (although, most of the Pokemon in ubers are legendary or banned anyway, and Garchomp won't be used to much because outside out speeding the other legends, there isn't too much of an advantage, + the disadvantage that Mewtwo/Kyogre laugh at him and Dialga isn't destroyed if it has more than 200 HP evs......Wobbuffet can't be used in doubles so well because of double teaming.....So Latios is the only other Pokemon that is in the uber tier allowed and perfectly viable).
I recall Alakapimp and imperfectluck playing in some of the Worlds TCG tournaments, using the cards that we top 16 finalists were given in our little prize pack. Not sure if it was LCQ.
