Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Emloop! You've got a seed that clearly can't be hit with a delay of 489.

This is my emloop guide in three sentences and a picture:

emloop.jpg

Green box = seconds between the time you change the DS clock and the time you start the game, your choice
Yellow box = your delay. (Except you have to account for the time between when you turn on the game and the first black screen by trial and error.)
Yellow box + green box = the seconds you start the game on.

And that's all you really need. Except some brains.

Can i use pikatimer? And cant i set the DS back 1 year so my delay matches the target delay im going for?

I am consistently hitting a delay one higher or one lower than my target delay without hitting my target once.

Is this just a lot of fluking or is there something else at work?
if your hitting one higher or one lower then the problem is that your hitting odd or even delays and you need the other. So a way to change that on HG/SS is when when you press start and enter that menu with e a list of options like continue, connetc to poke walker, etc... you can scroll down to the next page then back up to the continue option add one to your delay. Also if you have 3rd generation games and have unlocked palpark you can remove or insert one change your delay from odd to even or vice-versa

Something else at work; to wit, on most games you're stuck with either an even delay or an odd delay. There are ways around it:

For HG/SS, if you quickly scroll down to the second screen and back at the continue prompt your delay increases by one.

Inserting/removing a third generation game from the GBA slot can change the delay by one.

Changing the year on your DS will change the required delay by one.

question,, is there anything else that affect shiny breeding results? cuz i RNGed for the first time and followed all the steps in the guide and im pretty sure i have a correct SID from giratina-man.. but for some reason, i didnt get a shiny.. i didnt even get the right nature. it was as if i bred normally...

Who RNGed already Game Corner Pokemon? Starting Frame is 1 as I recall, I wonder: are there any NPCs that influence your frame?
Who did it on a Retail or Flashcart without Savestates so I know if it's worth trying?

Thanks!

I've already bred multiple shinies, I am now aiming for a specific spread on them.

By what you said, what I have to do is go through the process I went through to find any regular shiny with the correct nature and such (eg, the steps in DPP RNG Manipulation Guide Part 1 - How to Hatch a Shiny Pokémon), and then continue on with the steps in the Part 3 of the guide?

Also, I am doing this in Platinum, although I have dppt/hgss as well.
Well, I was confused when I follow that guide, dunno why :P (Not that the guide is bad, it's just that it seems to be more complicated from my viewpoint)

I followed this guide instead, but with some modification:Follow the guide until you got your target time and delay. Then, copy the seed to main page of RNGReporter (the page when you start up your program). Choose DPPt Egg PID (Normal), Ability, Nature, Shiny only, then generate frame. Using the frame you got from the main page ONLY, because the generated frame from Time finder function is somehow off, even after you factor in the 10-coin flips verification process (it might probably got fixed by mingot/OD already).

Anyway, try out that guide. I think it's a little less time-consuming than the original shiny RNG guide

Does HGSS confine itself to the odds or evens delay until you insert a GBA cart like DPPt does? I've just started calibrating and just hit two evens after two odds.

Sure, but I don't use it so I'm not providing instructions for it.

And 1 year? That delay is 2864 in 2010, you're not going to hit it by mashing A. While the timer's going, scroll down to the bottom of the Continue screen and back up. That will change your delays from odd to even (and vice versa).

Assuming this is on Diamond/Pearl/Platinum...

Are you trying to get a specific seed, or just finding out what seed you're on and then advancing the IRNG? Either way, the only thing I can thing of is you counter the happiness checker taps/coin flips wrongly... If the nature was wrong, then it probably isn't a problem with having the wrong SID, since that doesn't affect nature anyway.

Yes, theres quite a few things actually...
Did you do your taps/catch a pokemon in an area with ANY weather condition?
Did you have 6 Pokemon in your party when you did the taps/flips?
Are you sure your parents ARENT international?
Did you make sure to only go to the Happiness Checker ONCE?

SUPER RAGE ><

I got my initial seed right, and so proceeded to advance the frame, to 31, pokemon is 1 frame, 2 roamers is 2 frames, so I get 28

I TUNED INTO LOWER LEFT RADIO 9 TIMES FOR 27 ADVANCES

CALL ELM ONCE. TWICE. FAAAAAIIILLL

LOL my bad

It's either you hit the wrong seed, or messed up somehow during the advancement.
Btw, did you ask giratina-man to check SID for you?

yeah just call elm for all your advances its more consistent than the radio

Umm, okay I got my initial seed right again, and did 27 advances on radio, and 1 call to elm, getting 28 advances + 2 roamers + 1 wild pokemon, and no shiny ><

What messed up? AFAIK "That town these people" is a consistent +3 advances :S

yeah it may say that on the front page but thats not entirely correct, just use the elm calls, and now you know from experience its not

LOL that sucks, because the first page says only one of the radio things are inconsistent

3 time's the charm LOL, wish me luck on my shiny suicune :D

(and hopefully I didn't screw up in finding my SID or TID LOL)

Yeah I tested it the other day and alas it really varies from 3-4, even without commercials:(

Btw: Anyone tested Seed Verifier 0.4 already? I fixed the frame displayment there and dismissed the 0 message, is it still working for everyone?
I tested it but you know, in germany we say: trust is fine, control is better.
Therefore I'd like to know if it works the way it's supposed to.

I already know how to use pikatimer, so...
Since there are 2 timers, when do i scroll down and all the way back up? Like, which timer do i do this on?

what seed? i only followed this guidehttp://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part1 so i dont really know if im doing it right. im sure i followed all the steps carefully.

and yeah giratina-man helped me check my SID (thanks again to him!)

Hes talking about breeding a shiny using the shiny egg finder
http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64925
You have to hit a specific seed and its usually one with a very low amount of taps and flips so you dont have to keep resetting for a low egg frame :)
But did you see my post above? those are usually the reasons why peeple mess up during shiny breeding :x

Well, you obviously can't scroll down during the first timer, when the game hasn't even started yet. You can scroll down and up any time during the second timer.

Sorry; mixed up what both timers were and whatnot...
