Haha, I spent so much time trying to get Misdreavus. It was well worth it though. I loved that pokemon.
Yup, stupid Milktank. Was so difficult to kill.
I swear the new HG/SS is even harder with moo drink + Rollout + Lumb berry + other stuff.
Also... going up the lighthouse and getting the medicine for ampharos was good :).

So that's what I named him.

when i let my friend vs red, and he freaked out after pikachu used charm thinking it was gonna own him, was classic
I was in Silver Cave, think I was going to fight Red again. Got into a battle with an Ursaring - WAIT WHAT THE FUCK THAT'S A GOLD URSARING OMGOMGOMGOMG
However, I only had a team of level 100s. All of which, I figured, would OHKO said Ursaring - however, I also had about 90 Ultra Balls.
Getting out IIRC my Lapras, I just began chucking Ultra Balls at it. After the first thirty, I was scared that I wouldn't catch it, but eventually I caught it...WOW.
...however, nowadays I've lost Gold, Silver's dead and Crystal has been buggy for the past few years (and the battery's probably dead anyway, oh well). Was good at the time though.

Borrowing a version of the game without a working save system, good times. Being like 7, I never got bored of repeating the first 2 gyms.
When I got a working copy, I spent a fortune on batteries for my GBA. Also good times.
EDIT: Also, Miltank was freaking hard in GSC, but on HG/SS it was easy. Geodude with rock smash owned it.

Finally finding a legit shiny.

In crystal my favorite moments were:
Beating Miltank
Hearing the music that played when I ran into Entei or Raikou
Beating Red with low-leveled pokemon
Catching the shiny Gyrados
Getting a Quagsire on my team.
These are my fond memories of crystal, I still hunt down Raikou and Entei to hear the cool music.

Well, I had several favorite moments.
1. Spamming leer on miltank and then getting a critical hit with bite
2. When Lance's Dragonite shot the guy with hyper beam
3. The freakin' bug catching contest where I beat this kid who had a Scyther with my Caterpie
4. Riding on that awesome train.

Eveyone remembers that damn cow with rollout. I swear, that 3 gym run where Bugsy owned you with fury cutter, Whitney and then Morty where you couldnt use most of your attacks and hypnosis being jammy... Hardest 3 gym run in any game.
Somehow whitney was so much easier this time round, i think because clefable didnt start with metrenome and get jammy and also the cow didnt start with rollout either... Also helped it only took 2 hits to kill..

This is actually pretty similar for myself. I beat his Pikachu with a Lv. 56 Nidoking and I was absolutely loving it.
Otherwise, I think that it was the Ice Cave and how freaking annoying it was.
Yeah Whitney is a little easier (HG/SS), but Bugsy and Morty, oh damn, on the first one I got killed by Focus Energy+U-Turn rape (quite the opposite of me laughing at 2hp damage fury cutter), on the second I was like: could someone tell this bastard to stop spamming Shadow Ball? Its killing every member of my team! (Damn Special/Physical split that turned shadow ball into special)
The most memorable moment for me was beating Kingdra (seriously, it was impossible to hit her SE: grass, no, electric, no, ice, no and at that point I decided "screw it, lets spam thunderpunches") and the battle against red, the sheer level of his pokemon just scared me ^^
Mine is actually from Stadium 2 so I guess it counts.
It is beating the E4 tower (much harder than the in-game) in Stadium 2 with the team I had made with some of my favorite pokes of the time. I took it straight off the cartridge and without any knowledge of competitive games was beating the E4 with a stallish team I came up with myself.

- Getting stuck in Whirl Islands
- Stepping foot in Kanto after beating the Elite Four (omg the adventure continues!)
- Using a Wobbuffet against my friends in Link Battles. Gotta love messing with your friends' heads!
But the one thing that saddened me the most was when I found my old GBC with my Silver cart a few years ago, only to discover that the battery responsible for storing my save died...
