Wrong. GEC used OmegaDonut's team in London which had like 4 shinies and he was disqualified on "having too many Grass Knot TMs" - a bullshit excuse to disqualify someone for shiny-hacking their mons, probably.

It was more how he'd hacked on his game so they were looking for an excuse to DQ him. Still bullshit, but he had actually used an external device on that game.

Thats why you should play on a clean cart... if you have more then 1 copy of any DS pokemon game, restart it and transfer your VGC team to it. I know it sounds obvious to do this but it will save you from retarded accusations (Sp?) such as the one mentioned above.

Or, the simplest solution:
DON'T CHEAT AT ALL!!!

If you worry too much about getting DQ'd for cheating then don't cheat in the first place.

That doesn't really help if your game isn't isolated (i.e. - Don't trade with ANYONE). Why? Because there's always the chance of you received a hacked pokemon, even though you can't tell it is hacked. You can get DQed for hacked pokemon, even if you didn't know it was hacked. In short, your safest bet is to ensure your tournament team is hacked in no way whatsoever, and then trade it over to a fresh game, leaving you with 6 members in a game that's 20 minutes old, and all of those members are for competitive battle.

That's the beauty of hack checking programs(Of course some people don't have the tools required). One thing, of course you never can be sure the legitimacy of any traded Pokemon (except from your own, clean game cart), but simply not cheating will lessen chances of a DQ.

Ah shit, they detect hacked items? FFFFF-

Oh well. I have my Pokemon Diamond which I haven't touched since getting Platinum, which also has a clean file on it. I could just use that.

Just to check here, if I have say, a totally clean file with the exception of one hacked Pokemon, and it is released, is my game still detectable of being hacked?

To be specific, I traded a wild pokemon modified Mew into my Diamond. But if it is released, will I be fine?

Last year, they didn't check the box. I assume it'll be the same this year.

So, umm... speaking of the whole disqualification based on hacking stuff... I bread my whole team from scratch(without RNG abuse or anything), only posses legit TMs (that I've earned through the game), and earned all the BP to tutor the appropriate moves to my pokemon, but I do have a hacked pokemon on the cartridge that someone gave me on a different game that I transferred over... will I be DQed? If so, if I do get a fresh cartridge and transfer over my legit pokemon to that, would I be safe?

That one hacked mon will not affect your legitimacy. Just deleting it by having it leave should suffice because I am sure that your game won't be flagged unless maybe you activated an in-game-event which officially hasn't been distributed.

But your safest bet is to use a clean team on a clean cartridge.

How exactly do the checks work anyway? Does someone check your cart with software, or is a hack-checking program used? I still don't quite understand. But if I end up going, I'll just transfer my legitimate pokemon over to my HG from Platinum (since Platinum is the best place to RNG anyway).

I forgot to delete a hacked elect a buzz and cele bi i on my worlds cart. Nobody said anything to me.

Nice... looks like it should be soon then, maybe tomorrow. I'll finally be able to book my train tickets or something if I have to.

It's about time. I really hope we get a NYC/Long Island location (like the Garden City tournament for JAA in 2006). That'd be great.

That MLiesik is a crafty one...
>_>

I tired "MLiesik" plus every imaginable pokemon to no success...

<_<

You have a question about events. Would you rather ask the event organizer or the rulings team?

Knowing who to ask means you will get more accurate and useful information.

The organizer of course. Though, it depends on your question to be accurate, as you stated.

So their hack checkers are only known to check your party PKMN, right? And items and such?
