Yup. If it wasn't for Rotom's ridiculously good typing+Ability he wouldn't be that good lol.

As an Electric Sweeper, Rotom wins (and as a pokemon in general. It can be Choiced, status platform, etc)

Raichu's a decent second. Besides Nasty plotting, Raichu can opt for a physical subpunch set, his OWN support set. (Wish + Encore rocks) and even go mixed. (Raiboah)

Suspects are decided!

Froslass, Moltres and Dugtrio are suspects!

Voter identification thread will be put up later tonight and we will start accepting paragraphs once it's up.

oh yeah i almost forgot raikou is a suspect too

Oh my god. I was going to rip my hair out if Raikou wasn't a suspect. (sneaky writing)

So when are the deadlines?

By the way, your post suggests that you are having troubles with Sleep instead of Venusaur. By your logic, Breloom has no counters.
No, I was just mulling over the idea of Venusaur possibly being a suspect, since Salamence seems to run on the whole "no 100% counters" deal and I know for a fact that thing is Uber. Venusaur is one of the most massively influential UUs ever to exist and it's natural one would wonder whether or not it's a little too good.

EDIT @ Jabba: Are rating stats and all that calculated from the day the round ended? I kind of stopped playing once April 11 hit. I'd probably qualify even on my current rating, but this would be nice to know for future references.

So everyone's talking about these Electric-types but no one seems to mention Ampharos as a threat...I had quite a few successful teams with it....Tried both SubPunch and Specs. It's really hard to counter a special sweeper that can handle Chansey and Registeel on its own....

Specs Ampharos is outclassed by Specs Manetric (and Magneton for the hell of it) but the subpunch Boah set rocks. It's pretty bulky for an Electric type but it's speed is a bother...

Except I like using Poke's that don't die by a gust of wind. Ampharos also has higher SpA then Manectric. It's true Manectric has speed, but I wouldn't really call Switcheroo an advantage because the whole reason I'm Specing my Ampharos is so it hits harder. Why would I want to take that away?

Also Restalk Amphy is equally badass.

Manetric's got Overheat though...
Switcheroo can potentially cripple his counters, so it's worth losing the power to put a complete stop to their team's Chansey/Clefable/Registeel Whatever.

Never used restalk amphy.

So sick of voting on Raikou... if you flip a coin enough times it's always gonna turn up tails eventually.

My new sig.

Except Ampharos can just muscle his way through Chansey

Specs Focus Blast vs 0/252 Calm Chansey = 42.7% - 50.5%

Pretty good chance to 2HKO with SR, and it's guaranteed with a layer of Spikes, which is apparently so easy to get nowadays.

Clefable and Registeel are in the same boat.

lol PKG you credited the wrong person. It's Synre, not Heysup. (why would Heysup even say that lol)

Anyway, yeah, this is getting a bit ridiculous. Let this be the last Raikou vote, seriously.

I'm always talking about Ampharos.

Just one thing: make use of Static.
Second: yes, Rest Talk Ampharos is nice.

Even though i tried a really really weird moveset ( Charge Beam/Rest/Sleep Talk/Charge... yes, Charge, just becuase it boosts sp. def as well).

Anyway: When you use Ampharos, always think about making use of it's defenses. Even with Specs.

And Amphy makes a quite nice lead, throwing out some Discharges on Froslass, or HP Grass a Omastar or two(use HP Grass... you won't like any ground poke coming in) whilw surviving Fake Out + Return and having a good chance of paralizing Ambipom with Static + Discharge...

Seeing as torterra has rose in usuage after being predicted too, I was wondering what other pokemon people are thinking have potential. I think it was Thund91 that mentioned the mixed ampharos that I am going to be trying out.

I jumped for joy before I saw the tiny text >.>

And Dugtrio suspect? It is pretty strange at how one user can start up so many votes for a pokemon which many thought (and still do) is a non-problem.

That is a joke; goddamn bandwagons. I think Dugtrio is safe because I'm pretty sure there is under two-thirds majority, but I'm pretty sure the only Dugtrio-for-BL people that will get to vote are going to be the upper req's people, as I literally don't see how someone can legitimately explain Dugtrio being broken by the standards that are expected in the paragraphs....we'll see.

I'm hoping "it takes out 2 semi-common counters for Raikou (who is a suspect anyway)" is not good enough reasoning.

So sick of voting on Raikou... if you flip a coin enough times it's always gonna turn up tails eventually.

That's ok, I'm thoroughly convinced that Smogon Voters use a Double-sided heads coin in regards to Froslass and Raikou.

I know I previously mentioned Noctowl as a good counter for Venusaur, with the main argument against that being that it has nothing that threatens Venusaur, other than Hypnosis. Well after a bright spark it occurred to me that one pokemon does exist that can come in on Sleep Powder and threaten Venusaur with a OHKO....

Murkrow...

Insomnia so it can come in on Sleep Powder? Check. Outspeeds Venusaur? Check. Brave Bird for a OHKO? Check.

Brave Bird from an Adamant 252/Atk EV'ed Murkrow OHKO's every variant of Venusaur. It also learns Taunt, which could come in useful.

Is that not as close as a full counter comes?

Sludge Bomb (119.9% - 141.8% from Special LO) and Power Whip (70.1% - 82.8% from Physical LO) both OHKO with Stealth Rock up. You can't guarantee that Venusaur will always use Sleep Powder on the first turn (I know many people don't). Even Support Venusaur OHKOes with Sludge Bomb (72.8% - 86.2%).
