Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

If you still have two or more roamers out, I'd find it easier to use them to check your seed rather than phone calls; that lets you do the RNG abuse in Lance's room. Then use the radio to advance the frame.
Yes, check how much the roamers advance the frame and then advance it with the radio until you are on frame 16.
Use the lower-right radio station as that is the most consistent one.
Advancing the frame before you enter the E4 should only be done if you have to get a really high frame or if you are too lazy to count to 236 in my case.

Im trying to RNG breed now as RNGing on HG/SS has been mastered for the legends. now im kinda hazy on a few things. here are my questions:

1. how do you check your seed when breeding for shiny eggs?
2. doesnt walking for the eggs advance the frame to the point i skip the shiny egg frame?
3. do i enter the parents first before trying to hit my seed for shiny eggs or do i first hit the seed than enter the parents?
4. does it matter if i stand inside the building yes or no?
5. using the elm method or roamer method i can verify my seed oke. do i advance the seed by walking or calling to the point i get the frame for my IVs?
6. the starting frame with breeding is noted to always be 3. what is this based on? do i keep this starting frame of 3 in check for the shiny eggs? so i have to look for PID's of shiny eggs starting with frame 3 or 4?

some help would be greatly appreciated. omegadonuts opening post is so vague it basically tells you nothing concerning RNG breeding in HG/SS

Elm method, roamers, or catch a Pokémon and check its IVs.

2. doesnt walking for the eggs advance the frame to the point i skip the shiny egg frame?

No.

3. do i enter the parents first before trying to hit my seed for shiny eggs or do i first hit the seed than enter the parents?

Best to hit the seed first, just in case they generate an egg before you're ready.

4. does it matter if i stand inside the building yes or no?

No.

You advance it by generating eggs. It seems that sometimes a phonecall to someone wanting a battle will advance it, but this hasn't been completely worked out yet (as far as I know).

That's for IVs, not shininess. Starting frame is 1 for shininess.

For those that try to hit your starting (or calibrated) frame consistently when doing RNG breeding, you could look at buneary's position in relative to the fence, assuming that you saved your character's position to the right of the DayCare man.

I always use that helpful Buneary to see where I am at =)

I found the following shiny spread.

seed: 74040255 date: 2010 04 21 time 04:23:09 delay 587 frame 7

does that mean, since I would be standing right infront of the Day-Care Lady when I loaded into the game after using Emloop to make sure I hit my proper seed, I would have to decline 6 eggs and accept the 7th as my shiny egg? (standing in front of Day-Care lady with parents ready to go, so I would be starting at frame 1)

Didn't really get an answer on this:

I am looking to RNG legends on both SS and Platinum. How do I prepare for this? Are there any guides on RNGing legends? I found the main guide, but for the last thing I did there was a focused guide and it helped a lot more.

So a couple questions:

To prepare for this, do I prepare before I start my file, or do I prepare after, when I am infront of the Legend. I have already gotten Lugia unfortunately in my SS, but I am in front of Articuno currently.

you want this article http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part4
and explain what you mean by prepare

Before. Make sure you know the seed you want, the frame it will be on, and the delay. A syncher might help too. If you have any roamers, use RNGReporter to calculate them in first to check your starting frame, which is otherwise one. Pick the highest number that your frame number is dividable by, up to 6, then put that many in your party. Next up is to hit your seed. This will take time, trust me. Using roamers is the best way for me personally to verify it. Then, to advance the frame, walk 128 steps. This will advance it one for every pokemon in your party.

About Synch Nature option: when I choose a spread that is created w/ desired synch nature selected, does it means that, after I finished advancing the frame, I'll need to put a pokemon with my desired nature with ability synchronize as a lead pokemon?

after OR before... as long as it is the lead of your party when you battle the poke....

I'm having trouble finding Times on RNG Reporter Time Finder. Is it more of a guessing game with regards to the Year or perhaps I'm limiting it too much by putting in, say, 500 for Max Frame?

I've entered Naive, 31/30/31/31/31/31, but I can't seem to find any results.

Ah thank you :D

Try Open Search option (you need to know how to hit high-delay with emloop though)

Also, that spread doesn't exist. Try 31/22/31/31/31/31 instead

Also have a question about emloop and the seconds window. If I look for seeds that have a time ending in 00 seconds, for example 12:15:00, do I need to subtract any seconds from the seconds timer? That part really confuses me, as the seconds value I get when I check my seeds is always the clock time I get into the game at (if I logged into the game at 12:15:15, RNGReporter would say my seconds were 15. if I logged in at 12:15:20, it would say my seconds were 20.)

I typed in Timid while I had the box for shiny checked. The results all had poor IVs. Does this mean I will never get a good Timid Pokemon that is shiny?
Or do I just keep raising the max frame above 1000 and hope for the best (I do realize the higher the frame, the harder it is, but....).

I was searching for method J Pokemon.

First, in case you didn't realize, you can hatch things shiny, and get any IV spread.

Second, if you knew that and were asking about captures, then it does probably mean that you won't find anything good.

Hatching is always a better option, I have to agree, but I am worried about things like Timid Mewtwo and Timid Palkia. Things I can't breed.

Yeah, if no decent shiny spreads show up, you're out of luck.

Most people end up RNGing for a special SID/ID combination if they want specific shinies.

If the only time I can get a certain spread is at night during buena's password, is there any consistent way I can advance my frame?

Are any of the options near the end of the hour? For instance, you can do a 20:58 spread, then just wait the two minutes so that Buen'a Password is replaced with Pokémon Search Party.

Alright.

I have read every scrap of information on HGSS RNG.

And I am still lost, as there are no set instructions yet. Can someone please explain it to me? For example, if I want to RNG the Togepi from Elm (which apparently people have done without save states), where would I start? How do I go about picking a spread? I've seen lots of advice to go with high delay and low frame, but what ranges? How do you advance the frame without the radio (do you call people with the phone?) Is there any need to verify the seed with such a low frame?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

This.

I'm totally lost. I'd like to RNG for Mewtwo (all my roamers are caught or KO'd), and I got as far as finding a seed, date, time, delay, and list of Elm Responses. In order, it looks like this:

800901F4 | 2010 04 22 | 09:00:40 | 491 | E, E, P, E, K, P, P, K, K, K

I read what each Elm Response means. I know (vaguely) about trying to hit the delay. I'm even a little bit sure on how to calculate the time (That's the target time, right? So I'd just subtract 17 from it...). But I don't know how what the Frame is, what it would mean to advance the frame, how many of Elm's Responses. I can't get the spread I found in the Time Finder to appear on the RNG Reporter (which is 31/26/29/31/30/31, by the way). I mean.. the min/max delay is 483/503 and the year is 2010. But I'm lost. I don't know how to work it from here. Can someone explain it for someone dumb like me?

So is 491 your average delay when button mashing? I'd normally use a higher delay, and then use emloop to help hit it...

So, can I assume that 491 is the delay you usually get, and that your usual delay is odd? In which case, what seconds value do you usually get?

And that seed doesn't give those Elm responses... That time and delay gives the seed 800901F5, which does give those Elm responses. And that spread doesn't seem to be available on either of those seeds...
