Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Alright, some quick answers to questions thrown my way:

The specific frame I am pursuing is 543749. My ID is 46977 and my SID is 04871.

I am not running an emulator, running my good old fashioned Emerald on my DS. I did, however, use an online stopwatch, so I may fix that and use an actual stopwatch and see if that helps at all.

Thanks for trying to help, we'll figure this out one way or another together!

I'm in the process of doing rng capturing, but whenever I am in the journal process, it seems like I mess up on there. Does anyone know when the journal opens up after when it asks you to continue, does it count as a flip?

it only counts if there is a caught or defeated a pokemon message on that page when it opens up if there isn't then no

Ok. Do you know if rng capturing is hard, cause I want to get a specific pokemon with the right nature.
I prefer it over breeding since I don't have to do frame calibrations each time I do it, just hit my delay/seed and advance to my target frame. In the end though its really up to you.

Ok, and two questions, people always have some pokemon with the same exact IVs and I know it's RNG captured, but I don't know how that happens. Also, how do you hit your delay/seed constantly.

hi there,

I'm at Ecruteak in SoulSilver and I'm about to the set the dogs free and I wanted to give this a try. My question is, it seems like you guys save after setting them free then set up the whole RNG thing. I was under the impression that Raikou and Entei's natures and IVs were set once they flee from the building. Is that the case? I just want to make sure I'm doing this right cause I would really like to capture as close to perfect ones as I can.

thanks in advance

no you do all the frame advancements and RNG related stuff before you release them, like you saidtheir natures and IVs are determined once you release them so the only way you can RNG them at burnt tower is before releasing them from burnt tower or after is by fainting them and then re-releasing them by beating the elite four.

Ok cool, thanks for the info. Have you done the RNG with the dogs by any chance? In your opinion whats the best way to go about it? At burnt tower or after the elite four or one each way? Also, if I setup the RNG stuff before burnt tower, does it only work on the first one that jumps away or does it set Raikou and Entei with the same nature/IVs?

Raikou is on frame 1, Entei is on frame 6. By modifying your target frame accordingly, you can RNG either one (but only one, until you get to the Elite Four).

I RNGed my Entei at the Burned Tower, and will RNG Raikou at the Elite Four. I'd say go for one at the Burned Tower, as you can use the Pokégear or Sweet Scent to ensure you have the correct seed; at the Elite Four, you have to confirm your seed in the reception area, which has a NPC that can mess up your frame occasionally.

Does anyone know a good spot to get a level 50 and up seed in Platinum more than 50% of the time. Most places I've visited seem to give me level 49 and 48 pokes, as compared to the same places in Pearl/Diamond.

I'm pretty sure stark mountain has 50+ Pokemon but the only thing is I'm not sure if the Ash floating around messes with anything....

So as a question does it?

it just screws your coin flips so you can't use them to check your seed aside form that nothing else.

Yes, but it screws up hatching shinies, so I really need a good place to get a 50 plus seed without weather effects in Platinum.

I was wondering if someone can help me with RNGing in HG/SS.
Im attempting to RNG ho-oh. My target seed is 9e0e029a, and my target frame is 505. I found a target time in 2009 12 31 14:29:13 657 delay. Since i cant SR, i add 400 delay (thanks OmegaDount). Can i use emloop for RNGing this? Also, before changing the time, do i need to save in any certain location, like in front of the ladder in the burnt tower?

Using the RNG Reporter, I've been able to produce a handful of shiny eggs for myself and my friends. Thanks so much for this program, its updates, and the research that went into it-- it's so helpful!

I was wondering if there is (or could eventually be) a way to quickly switch between multiple ID sets via a drop-down menu or something? It's a bit difficult entering and re-entering three (soon to be four) different ID sets each time I decide to shiny-egg-hunt.

Okay, so I tried catching the red gyrados in heart gold. I recored it's stats and got the ivs on serebii and metalkids iv calc at least 10 times. Metalkid gave me a couple ivs per stat to choose from so I put sereibii's iv stats into the rng chain to sid in the 7.5 rng reporter version. The first couple of times i click calculate, the possibilites go down. Then when I enter the last gyrados recording, there are no possibilites for my sid. I am considering leveling 5 different gyrados to level 45, 5 different times without saving and record thier ivs with the evs that gyrados got while training to get exact ivs from metalkid with just one iv per stat. I'm not sure this will work though. I just want to get my sid. Can anyone help?

Chained Shiny Generation Help

I was reading this article and I saw that red Gyarados in HGSS are generated the same way (and thus my SID can be found with RNG Reporter by clicking on "Chain to SID"). However, I have already caught it.

Could someone tell me how the "Chain to SID" function works?

I want to know that in order to get the list of my 328 SID possibilities and test them. I know it is not a very good idea, but I am sure it is faster than looking for a new shiny.

Thanks in advance.

You need 4-6 shiny pokémon that you caught by chaining with the Poké Radar. Otherwise, it's best to have someone else find out via AR.

I read that you have to have caught the gyarados several times and record. If you already have it, you can't get your sid. I restarted my heart gold game when I read that and have caught gyarados several times. I think the only way to get to get the sid is to catch it several times. You can put in the information in the chain to sid, but I don't think anything will come up.
