Wow that is a little low.

I guess I'll have to obtain a second Life Orb from Heartgold.

Where do you find the Life Orb? I read it is in the "upper left" of the Ruins of Alph but that description confuses me. Are there more than one underground chamber in the ruins or what? Or are they talking about the overworld, because even then I haven't found it.

There are four chambers you can enter in the Ruins of Alph, one is accessible straight away, the second one i think you need surf to get to. The other two however, are only accessible from Union Cave (you need Surf for these as well). At the back it has writing in "Unown language". You need Ho-oh to open this particular one.

Why can't I migrate pokemon?
Here's what happens:

I play Emerald.
I save and shut down NDS.
I play Pearl.
I save and shut down NDS.
I play Emerald.
Poof! Saved game is erased.
help please.

Your emerald's save file is more than likely corrupted somehow, causing the data to wipe itself.

If that's the case, it might be a problem with either your DS or Pearl itself.
In any case, try playing Emerald, then migrate to Pearl instantly. You seem to play Pearl then play Emerald. Just migrate while you're playing Pearl.
If this doesn't solve the problem then it is a hardware issue, most likely with Pearl.

Regarding the mechanics of Beat Up: when the move description says "Beat Up uses base Attack and base Defense for these calculations", does this mean damage dealt is determined by plugging in base Attack and Defense number (and 10 power non-STAB) into the damage calculator?

for example, for Dugtrio (base 80 Attack) vs. Chansey (base 5 Defense), Dugtrio's hit on Chansey would be:

80 Atk vs 5 Def & 641 HP (10 Base Power): 115 - 136 (17.94% - 21.22%)

instead of:

259 Atk vs 109 Def & 641 HP (10 Base Power): 17 - 21 (2.65% - 3.28%)?

Yes it would.
Since it mentions Base Stats, which in this case are 80 Atk, 5 Def and 250 HP.

the emerald is fake, and the moment the DS tries to reach into the emerald's data (for the option to pal park) the data will be erased. Just play emerald in a GBA or make sure ou take it out before you start up pearl, else the saved file is lost. If you want to pal park, trade it to another legit game first, thats what I do with the fake saphire I got.

I'm wondering what hidden Power would be most beneficial to an Articuno in the OU environment. Grass, Ground, Elec or any other suggestions you may have.

Grass and Ground are good options in the in OU Fire or Electric will work great.

Is there a way to give my opponent the ingrain status, thus permatrapping them? I know there are ways to steal boosts, but I don't think this is one of them. It would be pretty epic as a combo though(Hopes for gen 4)

...is this supposed to happen?

Code:
Spiritomb is confused!
It hurt itself in its confusion!
Spiritomb lost 6% of its health.
nightpr0wl3r's Spiritomb fainted.
Kirlia used Destiny Bond.
Kirlia is trying to take its foe with it!

nightpr0wl3r switched in Kabutops (lvl 76 Kabutops ♀).
Kabutops used Aqua Tail.
Kirlia lost 34% of its health.
RegalStar's Kirlia fainted.
[b]Kirlia took Kabutops with it!
nightpr0wl3r's Kabutops fainted.[/b]

Going by Bulbapedia's description:
When Destiny Bond is used, if the user faints as the direct result of an attack, the Pokémon that landed the knockout hit also faints. A Pokémon defeated by this move will faint before the Pokémon which used Destiny Bond. This move's effect only works if the user faints before making another move. If it faints later than that (unless it used this move again), this move's effect will not happen. Destiny Bond does not activate for damage that occurs at the end of the turn, including damage from Leech Seed and Future Sight. In a double battle, both opponents are targeted, but only the one that knocks the user out is affected
Then the behaviour you saw is the correct behaviour. But has anyone checked in game?

Related: What happens in the following situation:

Whatever Uses Whatever
DBonder is fast asleep!
DBonder uses Sleep Talk.
DBonder uses Destiny Bond.

Player1 switches in Sweeper
DBonder is fast asleep!
Player2: Didn't Sleep Talk, thought I was gonna wake up, but didn't.

Sweeper uses Powerful Attack
DBonder Fainted!

Is Sweeper taken with DBonder?

I know that if you're fully paralyzed rather than asleep you keep your destiny bonded status. I'll test this when I get my other DS back.

Does Skill Swap wear out upon switching? Or did that guy's Machamp get really lucky 3 times in a row? I really need to know so I can abandon that dumb gimmick.

???

Hi, today me and my friend were battling today, we were both using soul silver cartridges.
Anyways he used a Slaking that knew Skill Swap and Dark Void, he says he taught it skill swap in emerald as a slakoth, as for dark void, he said the "ultimate moves" move tutor in platinum taught it to his slaking after he showed the tutor a darkrai, is this legit? ive checked everywhere, serebii, bulbapedia, etc, but they all say its not possible but he insists hes legit.
can anyon explain this?

Your friend is a liar, he can insist all he wants but the facts are out there on the internet and he can't deny that.

He's just trying anything he can to convince you he is using legit pokemon, when really he used Action Replay.

The only pokemon that can know Dark Void other than Darkrai is Smeargle.

How do you know when a pokemon is hacked when they have legal IVs(all 31) legal Evs, correct place, date, time, legal moves, pokeball, everything. Is it possible to tell?
