Well the staff that took my team sheet were checking to make sure Charmander and Koffing weren't on the ban list so no they have no idea what's going on. The ones running the rest of the tournament seemed to =)

I can confirm that for the lesser stuff they just recruit local TCG staff. Some people I know are doing it, who don't know a lick about VGC.

Is tailwind a good move in vgc if you can take out the pokemon who know trick room? Are pokemon that are cloned by action replay allowed in vgc? Most people clone in their trade threads. So if I used a pokemon that was cloned from a trade thread would it be counted as a hack?

As for clones, they are allowed. As for tailwind, it depends on your team and the situation. If you think it might be beneficial for your team and there is an open spot on your move set, why not throw it in there just in case. You never know when you might need to out speed someone.

Ok, I know that when in a double battle and using an attack like earthquake that hits both enemies the power is cut by .75. Is this still true if your first pokemon takes out one of the foes and there is just one left when using earthquake, heatwave, etc or is it still considered a double battle and the attack still cut?

Also, has anyone found a way to counter a follow me and TR lead and be able to counter scarfogre all with the same leads? These are the two main leads used this year it seems so far and they are a huge threat, expecially since each one is treated so differently. I was thinking slow priority attacking pokemon like hariyama. Anyone else have any ideas on how to counter both?

I can answer the first question. Damage is determined as soon as the pokemon performs the move. So any chanages before the pokemon actualy uses the move apply. So lets say mewtwo knocks out one of your opponents pokemon, so your opponent only has 1 left for the rest of the turn, when zapdos uses heatwave, it will be full power because it only hits one pokemon. This also applies to switching in weather. If you switch in groudon at the beginning of the turn, Zapdos would get the sun boost on the heatwave.

Ok sweet, thanks. Anyone know the second question?

Imprison is the only way to stop Follow Me, Trick room. Use a Dusknoir or a Focus Sashing Mismagius. Dusknoir should survive Scarf Kyogre without being critted. Ghost type would be better for the Imprison so you can't get Faked out.

Does anyone know if the Cusup Berry is allowed in this tournament

in the pokemon vgc scene is it better to ev train dialga in speed with his low base of 90. i am thinking it wont matter when i go up against other ubers who will most likely go first because they have a better speed base to begin with + thier speed ev training =them still going first and i just wasted a bunch of ev's on dialga's speed for nothing. plz take into account the seattle scene, all advice on this matter is welcome and appreciated

I would say that it is worth the risk. The most commonly used ubers are kyogre and groudon who have the same base speed. You will come across quite a few scarfogres though. Groudon can serously hurt diagla though so I would say that it is better to plan on having a dialga that can out speed a groudon in order to hurt it before it has a chance to kill you. 90 base speed also is not that bad compared to other pokemon that are ev trained in speed usually. Heracross and toxicroak and others are frequently trained in speed and they have 85 base speed along with gallade at 80 and porygon-z at 90. These pokemon are used more in single battles though. Just trying to say that 90 speed is nothing to scoff at.

I think that it is timid actually but I could be mistaken. Along with that, what is the ev spread of one, 252 s atk, 252 speed, 6 hp? I am working on damage calcs and it would really help. Usual ev spread and nature of palkia and TR dialga would be nice also

sweet, thanks. That is a lot better than the 252 hp evs I was giving it in the damage calc lol

Ya like PBB said, most people run modest, with 252spatk evs for the extra umph on spouts. Although Im sure there Is a timid one or 2 running around, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

heh, I was running Timid without the scarf... but choice items, I can't stand, sticking with one move. I'm paranoid over the fact, that my opponent, will have resistance or somewhat, and can counter. And if I switch out that Pokemon will get KO'd, which is somewhat likely to happen, which, I can't seem to take upon...

So, stating that, people recommend Scarf Ogre, over any other Kyogre? Normally anyway.

There uses for each one. A scarf ogre would do great on a rand dance team. A non scarfed ogre would do great on a TR team. I would recommend giving it a choice item because of the fact it is very bulky and can take a few hits. Its up to you and depends on if it works with your team.

well choice items arent that bad in doubles since you can choose to attack one of the two pokemon and if the choiced pokemon isnt a lead you will probably know all of your oponents pokemon by thet time

kyogre@lefties / wacan / rindo berry
timid / modest
water spout / hydro pump
thunder
blizzard / ib
protect

is also a cool set. It's main purpose is to set up rain, counter other weather and just sweep. 90 speed base is enough to use this sort of set :)
