The whole.. starter triangle advantage being reversed makes me believe even more how the creators said, " the game will make you question, is this even pokemon?"

This wouldn't be very different to what they did in D/P/P to be fair
with Earth>Fire; Fighting>Steel; + Empoleons ice beam > Grass/Ground
in the 4th gen it was all evens

Has anyone noticed the fire starter is black, the water starter is white, and the games are called black and white? Their evos could be the version mascots, harking back to red and blue. Makes sense as this is the first time starters have been revealed before legendaries. Just a thought.

^This would be so cool

The new Region Ishuu seems to be based off of Kyuushuu (Japans South West Island) from it's harbours.
Due to it's close proximity to Shikoku (Heonn in the games) I'm thinking this maybe linked like Gold/Silver to Red/Blue

The best thing about "Ishuu" the region being a partner region to the Hoenn one (if my Geography and suspicions are correct) Is that we may actually get evolutions to those Gen 3 pokemon Like Mawile, Sableye, Solrock/Lunatone, ect.

hopefully there won't be a sudden influx of more water pokemon In this bay region (unless they're gonna evo corsola, relicanth, qwilfish, ect.)

We've seen Zoroark launch attacks, if he transformed on switching in that would be impossible. My bet, if you switch in on him he transforms. That way he switches in on something he counters. You switch in something, an unless it's a scarfed dragon/ghost risk a speed tie/likely resisted hits. That said, scarfed dragons/ghosts will have their own set of problems with him. Like obvious switches/revealing what they are holding, etc.

That's a good point, I forgot it was shown launching an attack. Scarfed Dragons and Ghosts would still have the problem of being hit by a STAB SE attack on the switch-in since Zoroark would transform when they switched in and be forced to use the attack that was in the same slot as it's selected attack. They could make it that Zoroark transforms at the end of the turn, but Ghosts and Latias would still have to watch out for things like Night Slash and Dark Pulse.

On serebii, the grass pokemon is revealed to be a grass snake pokemon. and the water pokemon is actually an otter! The water pokemon makes more sense now. Maybe it'll gain more popularity now.

they also revealed zoroark's ability called illusion. and 2 new moves in gen 5 called trickery(dark move most likely) and claw sharpen. Trickery is said that it's power is based upon the opponent's stat. and Claw Sharpen is supposed to be a stat boost. It raises the attack and accuracy of the pokemon.

New scan:

Still no following Pokémon :( Although the middle left looks like a Pokémon so maybe it's an option or something. Looks pretty cool so far.

Middle right picture there's something that looks like a fire hydrant, is that a Pokémon? (Looks nothing like a fire hydrant but I don't know what it looks like to describe it D;)

Anyone know what that red bush-looking thing is in one of the pictures? My guess is that it's something you have to use one of the new HMs on.

Edit: Also, are they wearing Poketches?

Confirmed, according to Pokebeach:

The Pokemon's names are Tsutaaja (ツタージャ), Pokabu (ポカブ), and Mijumaru (ミジュマル). "Tsuta" means "ivy" and "ja" is one way of saying the word "snake." "Bu" relates to "pig." "Mijuku" means "immature" and "maru" means "round" or "ball."
The city shown in the scan is Hiun City.
Zoroark's ability is called Illusion (イリュージョン). The ability allows it to take on the appearance of other Pokemon.
Two new attacks are Trickery (イカサマ), which outputs damage depending on the opposing Pokemon's stats, and Claw Sharpen (つめとぎ), which raises your Attack and Accuracy.
If you trade over the shiny Entei, Suicune, or Raikou from the the Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark movie ticket preorders, you can battle and capture a Level 25 Zoroark. During the battle, the Monster Fox Pokemon will take on the appearance of the Pokemon you traded over, and at several points it will revert to its original form (probably when weak). When it does, you can attempt to capture it.

Traffic cone?

Also, finally an accuracy-raising move, and Zoroark's ability sounds great (weren't similar things thrown around earlier in the thread?).

poka comes from the word pokapoka which has an indirect meaning of warmth throughout your body.

Thanks, that would certainly makes sense.

EDIT: So if the water starter's name means "immature" and "round" or "ball" then I guess we can expect that head to play a huge role in its evolutions?

Yeah that's probably it, and an HM to move a traffic cone sounds pretty weird so it's probably just something that moves when you get to a certain point in the game.

I don't think it would necessary be for that. I think they're going to make the HMs this time be for more real life things. Like the barrels and other things that would be difficult to move alone.

Wow, everything is looking good...I just hope there are following pokemon like in hg/ss, because I thought that was really cool.

The starters look like crap, especially the water one (the grass one looks ok), but none of that matters because it all depends on their final forms anyway. I'm pretty sure the grass one's name is a combination of 'ivy' and 'snake', so that could be a hint towards its evolution. I would love to see it turn into a snake, but it will no doubt end up with /poison :(

Loving the female player. Finally, no more kids. And she's quite attractive.

Yessss, I love the main characters design :D

The starters too! Usually I have a clear favourite (whichever one looks like a lizard or the monkey), but I'm liking them all... I like the look on the pigs face.

so i cant capture zoroark/zorua like any other pokemon or even a egg event like riolu? that sucks.
Well I'm satisfied with it because it exactly matches my prediction of the purpose of the shiny beasts haha.

Claw Sharpen certainly sounds like a move Weavile and any Dragon would be able to learn. A move that raises Attack and Accuracy sounds pretty nice. Though of course it will only cause more of a focus on highly powerful physical attacks, like Stone Edge and such.

And dragon rush, and Iron Tail, and...
