I might be going as an spectator.Do I need to arrive on time and register to get in or can I just go in?(For example,if I go as an expectator,do I still have to make it in before for the 700-something in the senior division?)

You mean spectator? I think you can come at any time, not positive though.

If I'm using Ludicolo on a GoodStuff team, is it advisable to give him enough Speed EVs to outspeed Timid ScarfOgre in the rain, even if I'm using Abomasnow?

Ok thats what I thought. I have one of those, but it is really just 4 ev trained pokemon thrown together and it kinda sucks, its my back-up and also my practice match battle team for now lol.

Has anyone, preferably someone at the Seattle event, noticed the big thing to do this year. Last year there were so many Smeargles. What is the big thing this year? I'm thinking that it is Kyogre, but I'm just asking to be sure.

From people that went apparently Abomasnow was the thing to beat, but yeah I think Kyogre was the most common Uber.

Ok good. I counter both with my team along with others. I am just trying to make sure the final copy of my team is able to counter most common pokemon. This is team is probably the 20th team I have designed and it just might work lol. I also read in Alaka's warstory something about cash prize. Am I understanding this right or is it the money to pay for the flight/hotel?

Yeah, I thought, I was going to be the only ones using Rain Dance, but it out numbered, Trick Room and others by far, along with adding in other Weather abusers, like Abomasnow.

The money is to pay for your travels, I believe.

It's a 300 dollar purse for airfare and hotel...essentially, instead of giving it to you for free, they give you the money to pay for it on your own. It seems redundant, though I'm not sure if you can spend it on whatever you want. If you could, I could see why they would do so, but I don't know tbh, they didn't specify as far as I know.

Because they're cheap. It costs me a lot more than $300 to go to Nationals so even if I made Top 16 I couldn't do it on what they give. And they only give it if you go to and enter Nationals. It can be spent on anything as it's just a cheque, but it will likely go towards the travel costs unless it cost you less.

I also believe you have to redeem it at Nationals...I don't think they give it to you after the qualifier. So, you have to pay out of pocket originally before being reimbursed, which definitely sucks.

Still, better than nothing.

I like it that way. If for some reason you can not make nats, you get $300 for what ever you want.

EDIT: nevermind, read post above this

No, you have to go to nats to get the money, so if you can't make it to nats, you can't pick up the money.

werecario sorry the response is so late but here is mine anyways if you were still looking. based on my seattle poke-exp, i was expecting raindance to take the spot for most used due to kyogre [i mean camon its like nintendo wanted it to be this year Jesus]. i was also expecting trickroom and earthquake/flyers combos[groudon/zapdos to be more specific] to take 2nd place for most used teams, then exploders, that was my prediction but as it turns out i saw no exploders teams [for those running protect on all thier pokemon. still not a bad idea seattle was only the first stop]. i also really didnt see trick room being that big there wow. but raindance and was heavy and if you take the juniors into account the flyer/earthquake combos was nicely represented aswell. so thats what i will be looking forward to countering on my 2nd and last stop. and there were ALOT of abowmasnow and lol 1 shedninja thats awsome. but as a whole weather condition i think is the theme this year, i mean camon my 2nd guy i battled we went through 4 weather changes........4 WEATHER CHANGES ALL DIFFERENT, i wish i had a rayquaza for him

I'm not looking for speculation on the following questions. I want EXACT answers from people who were at the Seattle, WA Qualifier and know what they are talking about. Thank you.

Question 1: What time did the line begin to form? How long did it take you to register? (meaning from your spot of the line to the register place.)

Question 2: How were the battles conducted? After registering, did they just place you into a battle station with someone else from line? If you were to win, what was the procedure to the next battle station?

Question 3: How many people did you have to beat (assuming you didn't get any byes) to get into the Finalist part? How many more to make Top 16? How many rounds did the winner have to win to get 1st place?

Question 4: How were byes handled?

Question 5: How many people attended?

Thank you for any answers to these questions, and PLEASE don't bother answering if you don't know the exact answer.

alright i can answer most of those
1-i arrived at 10:45 am and there was already a line of about maybe 40 people [going by sight]. but the line started forming when the hall opened which is when juniors registered so i doubt most in that line were seniors. so pretty much when it opens [but keep in mind i said i arrived at 10 45]

2-pretty much what u guessed, after you register you move up the line and you are paired with the person behind you or infront of you, it wasnt really random untill you got passed the first stage the you have to wait for another winner to be annouced and the pairing goes on from there to the next station in stage 2. then whomever wins goes up to the line and waits for another winner or gets paired with the winner who was waiting.

3-you had to beat 3 opponents to get into the finalists lounge. idk what happens after that because i left, i lost to my 3rd opponent on the closest match ever, like 1 pokemon each both under 20% hp. it came down to speed and he went first.

4-idk, some1 accidently hit run and his opponent won just by that lol so sad.

5- i heard the anouncer say something about 400+ trainers in the house, but he didnt say competing, some1 who had better hearing correct me. but if u are trying to figure out how many people will show expect ALOT, there were soooooooo many people, not like hiting the 700+ limit but still alot.

quick question, i am trying to get sucker punch on my hitmontop, i have been to sites on how to do that from serebii to bulba and they all say the move tutors in plat/ss and hg will teach my hitmontop that move but i want confirmation from some1 who knows because those sites all also said that the move tutors in plat/hg/ss would teach my azelf zen headbut and guess what, i got screwed and had to take azelf out of my team, and i'm still waiting on platnum to teach azelf zen headbut cause ss/hg failed.
