2010 music

Some post-hardcore bands I listen to are Underoath, Escape The Fate, Silverstein, and I guess The Used's self-titled album are some I'd recommend. Of course, this is from a completely subjective point of view.

"Afraid of Everyone" is easily one of the National's best songs. Up there with "Slow Show" and "All the Wine" and "Mr. November." Also, the b-side of the high violet record ("Little Faith" "Afraid of Everyone" "Bloodbuzz, OH") may be the best side of any National record. Fantastic.

updates denoted by *i think that's all of them so far. -.-

havent had a chance to listen to a whole lot of new stuff since i cant torrent music anymore, but i guess i can look back at the earlier releases i was looking forward to and a couple of updates too

high violet and together kind of dissapointed me in the end. high violet was probably my most anticipated album of this year, but i really think i should have gone back and listened to some of their older albums because i feel like ive moved on from the national. high violet is definitely a great national album, but it's just not an album im that interested in listening to anymore. it just kind of bores me :(

together is just a mediocre album from a great band, imo. i think the new pornographers are starting to run out of ideas, just like the hold steady. real shame ebcause i must have listened to crash years like 100 times before i heard the rest of the album. in the context of such a mediocre album, though, i dont feel like listening to it so much.

i feel like the more i listen to this is happening, the more i agree with what evan said about all lcd albums having a bunch of interesting tracks and a bunch of boring ones. for all the praise this albums getting, i can only really get behind four of the nine tracks, and the rest i have trouble listening the whole way through. all i want and drunk girls are definitely the standout tracks, but dance yrself clean and you wanted a hit are decent also.

in terms of new music, i wasnt so hot on sleigh bells and was kinda middling on the radio depts clinging to a scheme, but right now im listening to janelle monaes archandroid and holy shit it's amazing. noticed it after it got a 94 on metacritic (which is fucking nuts, that makes it the joint 5th highest rated album of all time on the site) and it does not dissapoint. it's a huge genre-spanning masterpiece that you guys should all listen to.

I listened to a few songs and it sounds amazing so far, probably the best thing Bad Boy released since Biggie died.

Albums I'm Fucking Excited For

The Arcade Fire - Untitled (Comes out in a few weeks)
Radiohead - Untitled (Said they were definitely making an album this year)
U2 - Songs of Ascent (They always make a great album, every OTHER album)
Stone Temple Pilots - Stone Temple Pilots(ITS COMING OUT MAY 25 (OMGOMGOMG))
Animal Collective - ODDSAC
Daft Punk - Untitled
Fleet Foxes - Untitled
Interpol - Untitled
The Shins - Untitled
The Vines - Untitled

Albums I Hope Don't Fucking Suck Serious Dick....

The Strokes - Untitled

where did arcade fire say a few weeks? awesome if true :o

also having heard the new interpol song im no longer expecting anything from it. if thats the best track on the album then x_x

edit: i completely forgot about robyns body talk pt 1, which is slowly becoming one of my most listened tyo albums of the year. feels good to listen to something thats just really immediate and that i dont have to listen to a few times to really appreciate. the swedish (?) lullaby at the end though...not so much.

I loooooove High Violet. Conversation 16 and Sorrow are my current favorites. Bloodbuzz Ohio and Lemonworld are good too.

Apparently The Strokes pushed back their release date to 2011. :/
Can't wait for radiohead.
Still waiting for news on a Coldplay album, originally rumoured to be out before last christmas, but then pushed back, and now guaranteed to be out this year (by the band), but their record company says its unlikely. wtf. :/

edit: also waiting for something from Brandon Flowers (from the killers)

Oh, sorry, I meant arcade fires new single drops in a few weeks. Two new songs. The album is due late of this year. Lollll

new AnCo? :o

also I don't want to get hopes up, but... http://www.factmag.com/2009/03/18/steve-beckett-spills-beans-on-new-aphex/
new Chemical Brothers June 6 should be cool too

oddsac is their dvd album so its not a proper album really, but i thought that was already out on dvd or at least will be soon?

also AnCo is the stupidest abbreviation ever

new pendulum was pretty good imo. definitely better than In Silico, almost as good as Hold Your Colour, which seems to be the general opinion

i assume both of the songs aren't going to be shit quality on the actual album?

first song is pretty uninteresting and basically a typical rock song, second song sounds promising but i can't really tell because of the quality!! i do like the chorus quite a bit though.

i loved high violet.

also, cc2 or celestica is just as good as the first. Many standout tracks, including empathy, baptism, etc. My favorite is Violent Dreams.

crystal castles 2010 is one my favourite albums of the year so far for sure, but violent dreams is one of the few tracks i dont like. everythings great except year of silence, violent dreams, birds, and pap smear. everything else is just sublime, and vietnam is probably my favourite track of the year so far. so fucking good.

also the suburbs is getting better with every listen :o so excited

SOMETIMES I GET BELIEVIN
IM MOVIN PAST THE FEELIN

Oh fuckkkkk I bought their single and lkfnajlknfksdjngsd The Suburbs MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE ARCADE FIRE SONG.

Fawwwwkkkkkkkk

"So you can understand why I want a daughter while I'm still young?
I want to hold her hand, and show her some beauty, before all this damage in done."

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH -tears-

so uhh i know this was partly discussed in the metal thread but..

Did anyone get Road Salt one by Pain of Salvation?

is anyone looking forward to The Obsidian Conspiracy by Nevermore? PoS already came out, and TOC is out this month i believe.
