Being weak to fire\water\ice would be a terrible thing for a defensive Pokemon given how coomon these attacks are. Fighting is an useful resistance but that's all. It would be likely more useful if it got some more Speed while keeping the 125 base Atk as it could become quite a popular offensive Pokemon (especially if it got some sort of priority move).

Every game needs to have a level of sense in it, Pokemon is a really low sense, I agree :)
But Bug/Dragon makes no sense at all, I dont see it happening, and if they do make it, your allowed to gloat in my face ;)

Not sure about that. Gliscor has both a water and a 4x Ice weakness, but still remains to be an excellent defensive pokemon. Granted it could be a good offensive pokemon, but it will need to be unique in some way for it to be used over Scizor and Heracross.

I am kicking myself, of course, a dragonfly, maybe they will make a true dragonfly or something. Yes gloat all you want

But it wouldnt be a good idea to make a lot of new dragons, dragons are supposed to be mythical and rare, so 2-3 more dragons are good, though, as I said earlier a Fire/Dragon, that would be sooooo cool, heck, the new starter could evolve into one, and even if it is ridiculos, look at Octillery and Remoraid, there are alot of fancy evolutions, it would be funny becasue no-one is going to pick the Fire starter ;)

Flygon should be Bug/Dragon, how can you look at it and tell us Bug/Dragon makes no sense? And besides, it's Pokemon, they can do whatever they like, it doesn't have to make sense at all. They could make a Fire/Ice type if they wanted to, and it doesn't matter, because it's Pokemon.

If Pinsir got an evolution, i'd imagine it as a bulky sweeper. I think it'll need a reliable recovery to be useful, since it won't be THAT fast (slower than Hera IMO).

If Pinsir got an evolution, Pinsir would be banned for Little Cup for sure. It's so broken at Lvl 5 :P

Anyways, as I fan of Pokemon I really want to see new evo's of old Pokemon, like they did with Magmortar, Gliscor and Electivire in Gen 4. But as a Little Cup player, I really anxious to what Pokemon will turn into a NFE and maybe will be great Little Cup Pokemon

Flygon's an antlion not a dragonfly. :3

I want a bug legendary though. Some huge tough macho dynastid beetle or something would make me go nuts. Or a tarantula.

Heracross and Pinsir have the same base Speed and Attack. Heracross just has Megahorn, Close Combat, and STAB on both to give it the edge. What I'm seeing is Dusclops-style evolutions for them both; Pinsir turns Bug/Ground and gains a huge defensive boost (I'm thinking 15-25 points each in HP, Defense, and Special Defense), while Heracross remains the more offensive of the two, gaining 10 Attack where Pinsir gains 5, and 30 Speed where Pinsir only gets, say, 15.

While people are talking about Flygon, I think he needs something to make him better. He is hanging on to his OU status by a thread because of bad stats. A base 80 dragon priority would be killer. On an adamant choice band set, it would do more than adamant choice band Scizor's bullet punch. True steel hits more things super effective then dragon, but dragon is resisted by only steel. If they aso gave Flygon the fire version of aqua tail, with Fire Tail and EQ, nothing could safely switch in. It would come down to predicting what attack Flygon would use. With a good prediction, you could easily send some in. With low stats and the fact that it is counterable, I don't think it would be broken, it would just up Flygon's usage.

Bulky Pinsir is a bad idea. Giving Pinsir a little bit more in each stat and a secondary ground typing will just put him up there with Heracross. Heracross may still have the advantage, with better resistances and 120 base power dual STABs. Pinsir would only give him competition for a team slot because of the immunity to Thunder Wave and the ability to break a plethora of abilities with Mold Breaker. Heracross wouldn't really need an evo, theres still so much separating him from Pinsir that Pinsir's evo wouldn't be able to say "I'm better than Heracross"

Didn't the Smog suggest giving Flygon Swords Dance and/or Dragon Dance? With its impressive array of resistances, I can definitely see it finding the time to set up some stat boosts...you know, if it had some.

EDIT: Yes, the Smog totally said that.

First poke on the main article. Flygon with Dragon Dance and Swords Dance would be an excellent sweeper with its typing and decent stats, and would be a good lead with SR.

it is hardly hanging onto ou by a thread as deminstrated by it's useage, which is currently in the 26th most ou pokemon. Anyways as many others said he so badly beggs for swords dance , with only a some what decent attack stats and speed as well as disa ponting base 80 defences it's not going straight to the uber tier like garchomp.

I had no idea it got that much usage. Any decent set up move would work with some good resists and immunities. I just want something good to happen to him next gen.

Heracross isn't weak to SR, has stab close combat, has guts ect. Either way, too slow.

Note the last bit. I'm willing to make a safe bet that Heracross would have it's moveset updated to include Agility in Generation 5. Just the thought of having a ScarfCross that can switch up moves is scary enough.
