Also, I don't see why everyone needs evolutions. We need some filler in games- not every Pokemon needs to be epic. Tangela was not meant to be a badass, he was meant to be a quiet little grass type.

I don't see why things can't get an evolution. people act like it's a bad thing that old Pokemon get new evos; what I think is bad are new Pokemon making older Pokemon completely irrelevant. I'm glad Tangela got an evolution, because now it's not just "that vine thing..."; now it's "that vine thing that evolves into a BIG ASS VINE THING YEAH!".

people act like older Pokemon are better, so why are so many people against older Pokemon getting attention? seems counter productive to me...

Don't get me wrong, I love Ttar and using him. I don't have really a logical explanation for wanting this. Maybe I just want to make him counter less pokes :p

it's more the idea that an interesting type distinction would be removed because of one Pokemon. I find that really unnecessary. I personally love the mechanic, and would actually like to see more types get interesting distinctions like this (poison being immune to poison status is another one we already have, and flying being immune to ground based entry hazards, etc.). any ideas?

I got one. I always thought that fire types shouldn't be hit by hail.....

I'm one of the people against more evolutions. I just think that the creators had their chance to make a line and if these pokemon are not competitively viable or even just liked by the kids, that doesn't mean you should take up room to make them more likable. Why not use those extra spots for new ideas like flying/fighting, fire/dragon, or normal/anything? Or more spots for previously unappreciated abilities

Yea now that I think about it, it's really only Ttar. I mean, this boost made Cradily more popular and Rhyperior still dies to Water or Grass attacks anyways amongst other examples.

Yeah there are a lot of mechanics-related things in the game that are awesome (fire types immune to burn, steel types immune to poison, ground types immune to electric) but some that just don't really make sense (you froze my charizard even though its body temperature is hotter than the sun, okay........)

eletric types getting paralyzed by t-wave is also weird, just look at pikachu in the anime for example, he EAT the volts! IMO eletric types(Even those with no volt-A) should be immune to t-wave, not para, just t-wave.

I don't think any electric type should be paralyzed. I mean, they could just jump start their body anyways couldn't they?

I don't really see why steel and ground types don't get buffeted in the sandstorm. Can anyone explain that to me?

They probably won't do this, but I'm kind of hoping for some typing re-alignment. Ice should hit Steel at least neutral (you can freeze steel come on) and neutral to Water (Ice freezes water, water melts ice so they are equal.) Some other changes could include psychic SE against steel (Bending a spoon? They even showed that in the anime) Or how about Poison SE against steel (Acid melts steel...) I think Steel needs a little nerfing, not too much, but you can see how almost everyone in OU carries a steel on their team.

Also, if anyone can explain to me why Grass, Water, and Electric are NVE against Dragons...

So how do you guys reckon transferring Pokemon from Gen 4 to Gen 5 will work? We know you can send Pokemon over somehow, as seen by the shiny beast/Zoroark event. I don't think it will be migration like Gen 3 to Gen 4, because you can't have both games in the system at once, unless somehow the box data can be stored in the DS, which I assume would require a DSi to utilize (not out of the question, as you need older DS models to migrate now).

I'm guessing it will work like the Time Capsule trading between Gens 1 and 2. Anything from Gen 4 can be sent forward, but no Pokemon, items, or moves that did not exist in those games can be sent back.

For that, I assumed GF was going with the logic of "Dragons are strong against elemental forces" or somethin' along the lines of that. Ice is strong against Dragons because, uh... They're often trapped in crystals in mythology, so ice makes them become crystals? (That, and since most dragons are reptilian in nature, being cold probably isn't a fun thing for them.)

I always thought for some reason it'd be like regular trading between the two, though I could see a pseudo-Time Capsule being the means for it to work.

When you look at Zek and Res you can clearly see that the detail lines on Zek are all straight and angular and he's very sleek. These are all things commonly used to signify technology and man-made things. Res has details that are less symmetrical and more chaotic. Less smooth and angular and more rough. These signify more natural concepts. It's pretty obvious.
What Pokemon are you looking it? Most of Zek's body is very smooth looking, not angular. I think you really need look it closer, or look up what the definition of these words your using cause this thing isn't Porygon. Res looks like an animal, so what is your point really?

Huh, this sounds like a really interesting idea, and actually has a chance to become reality. However, assuming Porygon-Y would evolve from P2, I would always choose the incredibly useful Trace over the Upload ability you suggest. Still, good thoughts!

Also, about the much-debated Light type: I've been wanting it for a long time, but the main reason I want it is to bring balance to the type chart. Ex, something like this:
(Offense): SE against Steel, Dark, Bug; NVE against Grass, Fire, Psychic
(Defense): Resists Fire, Fighting, Water, Dragon(?); Weak to Dark, Poison, Psychic
Trace could work as a secondary ability as Adaptability seems useless on something like this.

You know me and a friend worked for hours last year coming up with a weakness and resistance chart for light, too bad he hasn't been on for months and I saved a copy to my old PC, which decided to lock up on me during an update. Can't remember most of it, but it looked a lot different from what you just posted lol.

I think so too. If we get unlimited times to send over Pokemon from our old games, that would be such an amazing update from RSE's 6-a-day system to D/P.

It became this big, nasty hairball that a million Persians, Purugly, and Delcatty spat up. If you want it to look at it in a dirty way, it evolved into a giant ball of [censored] hair.
Why MUST you people constantly put images into my head that I never would have thought of, yet now cannot be removed!?

Let's just leave Tangrowth to be "a BIG ASS VINE THING YEAH!" That sounds good... has a nice ring to it.

Also @Scuba Stevee, Yes, I was really struggling with how Light and Dark would get along with each other in a potential Type Matchup chart. I think your idea of them being neutral is probably better than mine, especially since this ensures Dark does not furthur outclass Ghost as an offensive type.

Take a look at Zekrom's "wings". He has acute angles as webbing on both his upper and lower wings. He also has hexagons as shoulders. Reshiram has ruffled feathers, if you will. His head crest is also wavy, and his breast is covered with feathers that are very common on birds. Your last statement "Res looks like an animal" is pretty redundant. If Reshiram looks like an animal, more-so than Zekrom, then it can be inferred that he could represent nature.

... I swear, looking back when Pokémon ends, the great scientists that study old fandoms will wonder why the eff do we place so much freakin' Freudian images into li'l monsters that kid use to battle each other for happy-happy fun time play.

And really, I was hoping Reshiram would be Ice/Dragon, but knowing Game Freak, said typing of both Dragons would probably be out of left field, really.

how is this relevant to anything outside of you being a prick?

Everyone knows Tangela was the bottom of the pit as far as design are concerned, it's only nostalgia goggles that prevent people from seeing that fact. Tangrowth follows the same design, but at least it has increased stats, and a slightly improved appearance (it has arms, woot!).

Oh God please give the Lght-type disscution a rest already....
There is NO POINT in adding a new type unless one of the types we already have becomes Godlike overpowered with no counters.

I wonder why so many people are convinced that the thing on Zerkrom's ass is a drill. It looks more like a rocket/turbine/airplane engine to me. I mean, it has vents and wings on it.

Maybe it is a drill, but it doesn't look the part.

I completely agree. I always thought that Zakrom's tail looks more turbine-ish than Reshiram's, but now there's a lot of talk that it is a drill. I don't really understand that... since the Pokemon's designs are so similar, I'd assume they would have the same/similar "tails", not completely different objects like a turbine on one, drill on the other.

Well to be honest, Reshiram's tail looks like a shuttlecock, so I'm not really sure what it is. Zekrom's is definitely not a drill, I'm guilty of saying that it was one.

or to keep things fresh. or to give new typing possibilities, which could lead to more Pokemon concepts becoming available. or because they want to, regardless of a point.

people need to stop acting like they know how things work. if they want to add a new type they can damn well add one. it would give us a change outside of graphics and new Pokemon, which is good; I doubt they could change the battle system any further past the physical/special split, anyways (without giving it a complete overhaul, which is a much bigger problem than a new type being added). it seems perfectly in line with something they would do, so I doubt it's impossible regardless of how unnecessary it is.

Steel actually has two very notable weaknesses, fighting and ground, but many of the most used Steel types are paired with Psychic, or are levitators/flyers.
