first off, you can edit your posts. second of all, the analasys was probably written before it became NU or even UU. I'm pretty sure it's being rewritten, you can go down to C&C to check if it is.
OK, so after checking, the analyses has been claimed by september, but has not been posted yet. Visit the NU discussion thread or PM september for information on what sets to run.
The common moves are:

Fire Blast
Thunderbolt
HP:Grass
Earthquake/Cross Chop/Focus Blast

Ok, here's a sorta random question:

Say I have a Machop in a 3rd game gen with Guts (or another example, Shroomish with Effect Spore). What is the probability that upon transferring it over from Emerald to a 4th gen game that when evolving or whatever, the ability will change into No Guard and Poison Heal respectively? Furthermore, if it's possible, can you simply retransfer the Pokemon over and over again until one emerges that will have its ability changed, or must you use a "unique" Pokemon for each attempt?

you have a 50% chance that it changes its ability and no, soft resetting won't make it change its ability, the ability is set it the Pkm data when it's hatched.

ManWithaPlan:

My description for Simple reads:

"In stat calculation and accuracy checks, each stat stage of bearer is treated as though it were doubled..."

A Pokemon's critical hit ratio is not a stat stage (like Speed or Accuracy), so it isn't affected by Simple. Also, critical hits affect damage calculation, not "stat calculation" or "accuracy checks." Finally, because of this, Focus Energy's effect is not doubled upon use of Baton Pass (the "doubling" effect of stat stages is an effect of the ability Simple and not a separate effect that can be transferred with Baton Pass; Baton Pass "transfers ... effects of certain moves to the new Pokemon", and Simple is an ability, not a move).

I know this is from several pages back, but nobody corrected it. This is totally wrong. Simple absolutely doubles any boosts or drops when Bibarel receives a Baton Pass. This is one of the best uses for Bibarel. Fuzznip used to have a pretty beastly NU team that set up dual screens with Gardevoir then passed Swords Dance to Bibarel with Gligar. You can read a warstory about it here. There is also a discussion of the dedicated receiver set here.

Well it had cursed for a turn before hand... But alright, i'll take a look at pursuit.

Is there any way of breaking a baton pass chain without roar or taunt?
Here's a list in order of effectiveness (IMO).

Taunt and Roar are the most effective, if not

Perish Song
Encore
Repeated Hazing
Heart Swap / Power Swap
Explosion / Focus Punch / High damaging moves
Leech Seed
Ragequit (jk =D)

Question: Should my paraflinch team run offensive or defensive EVs? I'll either put 252 in Atk or SpA for all and the rest into defences, or channel everything into defences only.

Wasn't there a move that switched the user's and the enemy's stat changes?

Also, barring the sweeper having an increased priority move, wouldn't a FEAR pokemon also stop a sweep? Or possibly Focus Sash + Counter/Mirror Coat?

Res Ipsa Loquitur:

Of course stat stages are transferred when Baton Pass is used. My full description of Baton Pass is:

"Replaces user's Pokémon with a different non-active Pokémon in user's party of user's choice and transfers user's stat stages, confusion, and effects of certain moves to the new Pokémon."

Any stat stages that the user of Baton Pass are transferred to Bibarel, if any, and those stat stages have a doubled effect on Bibarel due to Simple.

Yup. I've edited my post to include those moves. Heart Swap switches all stat boost, but is only available on Manaphy, while the other, Power Swap, switched Atk and SpA but there aren't any decent OU poké to use that. Most Power Swappers are NU.

Smeargle can, of course, learn both moves, but why would you want Smeargle to do that? Might as well get your own chain started, or use a Taunter / Roarer in place of him.

There is a third skill Guard Swap, which swaps Def and SpD boosts but that's not very useful.

In addition, all the Swap moves are only good once, since on the second use you give them back the boosts you tok from them. IMO, hazing is still better =)

Yes, and from Bulbapedia, there are only a few ways to obtain Celebi (through events):

  • Ageto Celebi, which comes from Colosseum bonus disc (PokéBall)
  • PokéPark Celebi (PokéBall)
  • Mitsurin Celebi (PokéBall)
  • 10th Anniversary Celebi (PokéBall)
  • Movie 13 Celebi (Cherish Ball) Not out yet
So, in short, all the Celebi currently obtainable come in a standard PokéBall, as the Cherish Ball was only introduced in Generation IV, and all the events so far have been during Generation III.
YOu're forgetting, the Celebi Glitch in R/S. That Celebi can be in any ball, as it is wild, but due to the still-unconfirmed rumors that it can flee, it's most likely to be in a Master Ball, like mine.

For those of you that don't know, the Celebi Glitch is an error in the programming of early U.S. copies of Ruby and Sapphire. So far, nobody even knows if it is in the Japanese versions. Anyway, it allows an extremely slim chance of finding a wild Celebi on Routes 121 and 123. It is much rarer than a shiny.

^ this will tell you more. The reason the page is in my own userspace is because all the controversy over the glitch has caused the Bulbapedia staff to believe that the glitch doesn't exist, like so many other people do. Even has the odds of the Celebi appearing; 1 in 268,435,456.

Are the 13th movie Shiny Legedary Beasts legal with their English name and the OT in english instead of japanese names? Of course I mean after 18/6 2010.
I want to know if I can use them online with the english names so that I won't end up on the blacklist. Flare Blitz Entei, Aura Sphere Raikou and Air Slash Suicune for examples. And Nasty Plot Celebi after 10/7 2010.

If you have HP Grass, does your SpDef always have to be an odd number?
My Heatran (Lv70, and has HP Grass) has a 50% chance that it's SpDef IVs will be 11 or 12. So which one is the IV of my Heatran? I hope it's 11...

An everstone held by a breeding female poké or Ditto will incur a 50% chance to pass down the nature of the holder to the baby. What if Blissey and Ditto were bred, and both given everstones?

How do I get Rock blast on Shellder?
Remorain is supposed to be in the same egg group but they wont have an egg.
what other pokemon can get rock blast and breed with Shellder?

Ditto is always considered to be the "mother", no matter the sex of the other parent. When breeding with Ditto, the everstone trick only works if Ditto holds the stone.

If I Baton Pass stat boosts to a Pokemon that knows Punishment, will the Passed stat boosts count towards Punishments boosts in base power as well?

i.e: Ninjask BP's two Speed Boosts, and one Swords Dance to Absol. Absol does not actually boost itself, but has been BP'd three boosts. This would make Punishments base power _________. (fill in the blank)

Omanyte/Omastar learn Rock Blast and are in the same egg group(Water 3) so you have to breed it with Omanyte/Omastar

Punishment's Base Power is determined by the boosts your opponent has. Though, if it did get boosted for your boosts, it would end up with 140 Base Power in that example (60 + 20*4 = 140; Swords Dance counts as 2 boosts).

Edit:

It always needs to be odd for HP Grass. SpDef counts so greatly for what type your Hidden Power needs to be that it will almost always need to be either odd or even depending on the type.

Ditto is always considered to be the "mother", no matter the sex of the other parent. When breeding with Ditto, the everstone trick only works if Ditto holds the stone.

I think I remeber someone saying that they changed it in Platinum or HGSS so that both Ditto and the female could have the Everstone work in that instance. No clue what would happen to the baby in that scenario.

I feel like a goof. I have never actually used Punishment, and I read it wrong.

Also, on the Ditto stuff. I don't know what happens if both parents have the Everstone, but I do know that in HG/SS, the male parent CAN pass on the nature.

I don't remember if it was changed for Platinum but I know it certainly is changed in HG/SS. In it either parent can hold the Everstone for nature passing (still 50% though).

In Heart Gold, I synced by pokewalker with my brother's to get him in my Trainer Hall. I was wondering, is there a way I can do this with people over wifi without the need for the walker? Also, is there any way to somehow get a clone of ME in the trainer hall?

Nope, But you can mix records with wireless communication (union room)

Is a hitmonlee with reckless instead of limber viable, or is it too gimmicky?

Although the ability that Hitmonlee utilizes most often is Limber, to block paralysis, its other ability, Reckless, is also very viable. Despite the fact that the only recoil move Hitmonlee learns is Double-Edge, a 144 Base Power move coming off Hitmonlee's Attack severely dents many of its common counters, such as Uxie. Hitmonlee can use Double-Edge on the Choice set or the Life Orb set. Just try to avoid being paralized
