Should I use scarfrachi or CB Scizor as a catchall revenge killer?

ScarfRachi is a lot more effective since it can work as a lead as well as a revenge killer. CB Scizor also doesn't always guarantee a kill, and it's slower if it's not using Bullet Punch.

It depends on what you need to take out. Jirachi can take out things like Gyarados and Lucario more effectively while Scizor handles things like Gengar better. Both handle Salamence about equally well because Jirachi only speed ties with DD Salamence and Scizor can only hit it 50% with CB Bullet Punch.

So it depends on your team. If you post the rest of it, someone could give you a more definative answer.

If you use Power Trick, are the nature and EV boosts swapped also?

Ex. Which has higher attack when Power Tricked: Adamant 252 Atk or Impish 252 Def?

My team is Jirachi, Starmie, Salamence, Tyranitar, and Breloom, although I'm not sure about Breloom. Maybe Blissey instead. But that's for the RMT forum. Anyway, I don't think Metagross or Heatran would work well as that gives me a 3x Ground weakness. Also, I'm using Tyranitar with a Choice Band elsewhere on my team, so while I did consider it, I think that I would prefer death to all ghosts more than a sandstorm lead. Hippowdon is a good idea, but I don't think I need sandstorm at the start, especially as TTar already has it and it damages some of my pokes. Btw, do you think it's a bad idea having Sand Stream on the team when my sweepers are damaged by it? It probably is. I'll have to make some rearrangements. Anyway, Swampert or Gliscor (hadn't thought of him) would work well. Swampert could act as my TTar check, and Gliscor is really annoying in the sandstorm, as well as being a great all-around tank. So the choice for me is really between those two. Swampert can provide nice type coverage, but Starmie really takes his role. Gliscor is, I believe, the best for my team due to its tanking capabilities and Taunt.

EDIT: Sorry if this is too much like an RMT, if it is just tell me.

I was asking about the merits of several leads that could reliably put up Stealth Rock and remain useful throughout the battle.

This was my question from a previous page, and it will never be answered unless I post it again. I know this is one of the most annoying things that I could possibly do, and I'm sorry for that, but I really need some advice.

As for Lonewolf9196's question, Power Trick acts upon actual attack and Defense, so that, say, a Lax 252 Def, when Power Tricked, is as powerful as an Adamant 252 Atk, assuming that the base stats are the same. It also acts upon any stat boosts, so that if a pokemon used Iron Defense and then Power Tricked, it would be the same as if it used Swords Dance after Power Tricking. This effect is removed upon switching out, though. Look at this page: http://www.smogon.com/dp/moves/power_trick and use that URL and replace power_trick with whatever move you want to look up to find the effect of a move. You could also try using veekun, at http://veekun.com.

I could have sworn there was a single item that cured all volatile status conditions (confusion, infatuation, etc.). Am I wrong?

Is the catch location data from R/S/E/FR/LG (e.g. caught at Sky Pillar) erased when transferred to 4th gen, or is it still present but it simply unused (replaced with "Hoenn" or "Kanto")?

It is replaced by Hoenn or Kanto (or "distant land" in case of Orre) but I think the data is still there.

Misdreavus:

The actual "place" where the Pokemon is caught will be treated as Pal Park. Another field in the Pokemon's data is called "game of origin", which specifies the game where the Pokemon was caught. For a migrated Pokemon, there are six possible values: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, or Colosseum/XD. If a Pokemon's "game of origin" is "Colosseum/XD", the game will say that the Pokemon came from a "distant land."

Antar:

That is correct, no single item can heal both confusion and infatuation. That's because the game has no concept of "volatile status conditions" like confusion and infatuation. Rather, they're merely effects of moves just like the effects Curse, Nightmare, Ingrain, and so on are effects of moves.

Hey all, I play Soulsilver, and I'd like to know something about the breeding part.

I read some tutorials and I want to know how do we get to calculate IVs in breeding, using this method:

http://www.smogon.com/ingame/guides/breeding_guide_part2

go to Level 5 Stats. They consider that pokemon hatch at lv 5 already. But, in Soulsilver, pokemon hatch at level 1! So, can someone tell me a quick and efficient way to put the hatched pokemon at level 5 without changing EVs or using rare candies? Thanks a lot =D

PS: I can't use the wi-fi battle method.

Shioya:

A better solution would be to ask the authors of that page to add a table for level 1 stats. I just might try adding one myself on my site.

that is not a quick way ^^', but thanks... I'll be checking your site, be sure to post it fast!

Anyone got other ideas?

say you are ev training. you have a lv. 1 so it can't get ev's by itself. if you start the battle with it and you switch out to a stronger one to kill the enemy, does your lv. 1 still get the ev points?

if it does, does the one you killed the enemy with get points too?

Yes they will still get the EV's

Darn.

Okay, in that case, I have a follow-up question: I'm running a Curse-Umbreon variant: Curse / Payback / Heal Bell / Moonlight

Originally I gave it a Lum berry, the idea being it would switch into a status move, the attacker would get the status (thanks to Synchronize), and Umbreon would be recovered.

But Lum berry doesn't protect against confusion (nor does Synchronize pass it on or Heal Bell undo it), so what if I ran a Persim berry instead? It would be nice to be able to recover from confusion, but on the other hand, Umbreon is slow, so most confusers are just gonna confuse on the next turn, before Umbreon can attack, so the up-shot is kinda limited. Thoughts?

[Edit: The Smogon website is wrong. Lum berry doesn't cure confusion]

Persim isn't that useful, imo. Lefties is better because mainly confusion comes from dynamicpunch which umbreon isn't going to take well anyway unless it's at +6 or something. And iirc, lum does cure confusion.
