Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm just starting to RNG on HGSS and I am having trouble getting a consistent delay. I usually find myself getting a delay anywhere from 489-495. Is there a way to accurately get consistent delays? I have actually tried following a beat from a very fast metronome which usually gets my delay to be around 491-493. is there any help here? or should I just keep practicing?

I just hit my seed and time while trying to catch a poke on method k with a synchronizer (Adamant). Only when I hit my frame (timid before Synch) I checked the IV's, and they were the same as an earlier Adamant frame.

So am I just using Synchronizers wrong or is this how it usually works?
still need an answer please.

493 is the delay I use for HG and it's working pretty well for all my RNG needs. I've been using it on SS as well. I'd go with 493.

I personally have an easier time hitting a delay of 485 or 489 on Heart Gold. I would say the range for most people will be 483-497.

Something with Pikatimer is confusing me.

I want to abuse Jirachi.
My Seed is: 52140289.
It says my roaming Pokémon location I have to hit is: R30 E42 L20.

My problem is that Raikou and Entei matches the routes, but Latias don't. Even when I didn't hit my seed I check which seed I've hit and then I can see a seed that matches Raikous and Enteis route, but the Latias isn't correct...
I don't call Elm for checking my seed. When I'm abusing Eggs I just take a look at their routes and it's just fine.

Anyone know what this could be?

I've heared that it is easier to RNG in HG/SS, as opposed to D/P/Pt. If this is true, could someone please explain why?

EDIT: Okay, thank you Riski.

Hello there,

I wanted to RNG abuse a wild Poliwag/whirl (method j), and I was thinking to catch it in Route 227/228, where the poli family has a 100% chance of appearing. Now, in these routes there's falling ashes/ sandstorm... Does that fuck the PRNG calculation?

You are actually supposed to look at the encounter slots of the pokemon which tells you what pokemon you'll find. Also I think if I remember correctly that it only messes up the IRNG, not the PRNG.

Yes please explain since, I need to know which is easier since I am just about to start my first RNG

It's easier on HGSS because the roamers can tell you where you are faster than coin flips. You can use the radio to advance if you have a lot of frames. For breeding there is only one NPC.

For the Pokerus requisite, is there really an easy way to get it? Never in my life I've gotten it in a game so I'm assuming it's quite hard.

or, will a traded pokemon do?

Traded works, so just ask for a random pokemon with pokerus in the simple question/request thread and someone should be able to help you.

Dang, I just reviewed the guide for catching perfect pokemon and it does not mention "encounter slots". I thought that was the Monster Frame, but now that you have said it I see that I was wrong. How does one check that?

In RNG reporter, find the spread you want (Method J if DPPt or Method K for HGSS). Put the seed in where it needs to be, and set the IVs to what they're supposed to be (not needed, but it helps). Now right click on the first spread, and click Generate Encounter Slots. It will give you some numbers, with links under that. Click the respective game you're using. Use the find feature to find all encounter slots the pokemon you want appears in. If that frame has an encounter that gives you your target, that's the frame you hit. If it doesn't, go to the next frame (if there is one) and see it's encounter slots. Repeat until you find the frame that works, or if there's none left. If the later, sorry but you won't be able to use that spread (unless you feel like radar abusing).

Basically what I think i need to know is when searching for a spread with a synchronizer do i put the synch nature (adamant)in, as well as nature I want or just leave that at any?(adamant/any)?

Alright. I'm completely new to RNGing. Haven't gotten a guy with pokerus, using Raikou/Entei to try to determine my seed. I'm trying to get a perfect-IV Jirachi (saved in front of delivery man in Cerulean).

The stuff I'm using (target seed and whatnot is all there):

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/5976/rnghelp.jpg

Highlighted=target time on seed to time and target hit on adjacent finder respectively. I'm always 1 second early. It doesn't matter if I add a couple seconds to the PikaTimer. It doesn't matter if I wait an extra second before pressing continue. I'm always 1 second early. No clue how this is happening. Also, I've read somewhere that the last 2 digits of the seed don't matter, so would that mean I could get the perfect Jirachi on the seed I hit?

And more. On Roaming Pokemon Locations it says Frames Advanced: 2. Does that mean I need to advance the frame by 114 to hit the target frame of 116 (call Youngster Joey 57 times)? Also to note, my PikaTimer settings are the suggested ones on the first page.

As I said, just started, so I'm quite clueless.

@katten- the seconds will never be right using just roamers. try changing seconds to -0. and target frame is 116 so -1 for each roamer and -1 for the starting frame= 113 frame advancements. and the last 2 digits do matter, you have to hit your seed then advance the rng.

So I have to hit the exact second and the exact delay to get the right seed. That sounds like it requires an impossible amount of luck.

EDIT: Tried once more. Again got a second early. My delay seems to be a bit under 600 most of the time. Will I have more success waiting until Latios is roaming or do I need to get Pokerus so I can use Elm to determine my seed?

Actually the delay range is normally around 10 for most people. From there you need to include that it will only be odd or even. Hitting the exact second is not too difficult with PikaTimer. So you really have closer to 1/5 of a chance of hitting your seed if you do not use a high delay.

Is it worth (in anyone's opinion) checking your seed when you've got Wandering NPC's?
I'm just wondering, cause it seems that while I attempt to check my seed, THEY interfere... >.>
I understand there's the Menu method to check it, but alas, they still seem to get in the way o.O
Thoughts?
