I like the way you think, Tintin.

:O
Haha I thought that it was from the last page and nobody commented on it , that it was a stupid idea....but I guess I have a supporter;D

Another 2things that I didnt write there was that there a 1 generation gap between them

Abra~>Nothing~>Ralts~>Nothing~>Munna.

The other thing was that I forgot to say thats it would be a bulky special sweeper.

more things like this
magikarp->nothing->feebas->nothing->???

caterpie and weedle->nothing->wurmple->nothing->???

I'm not seeing the Zaptula similarity to Ariados apart from the fact that they're both Arachnids.
The color scheme is very different, the most likely typing is weird for an evolution of a Bug/Poison, and it's all furry like a Tarantula and unlike Ariados.

Sure, we couldn't argue with them if they decided that a garden spider should evolve into a tarantula (Remoraid->Octillery lol) but I'd bet against it for now.
There are a lot of somewhat similar starter bugs (such as Butterfree/Beautifly and Venomoth/Dustox) that are not related.

I could see Zaptula being the early bug and Electric in one Pokemon.
That might not be best for its stats but there's hope since Luxray is OK apart from movepool.

The typing isn't bad cuz when Electric pairs with something that helps it's sole weakness it's mostly win, win defensively for the dual type.
The coverage isn't bad either because every single type that resists Bug takes neutral or SE damage from Electric with only some duals like Rotom, Zapdos or Gliscor resisting both.
The ability Static would fit the flavour since tarantula hairs can be irritating but I'm all for new abilities!
Well, I'll be. I agree with 100% of your post. As much as I would love an Ariados evolution, I don't think this electric tarantula is it. However, it looks like it could be early-mid game, and have potential for an evo itself. Even IF it's stats get stuck around ~450 BST (Seems likely to happen), it would still be valuable competitively with that unique typing (and hopefully well-distributed stats and a good ability!)

Static does seem very likely, and fitting with the tarantula's hairs. Forewarn or Rough Skin could also work, given the hairs' ability to sense danger and defend against attackers. A new ability would be great, though.

Also, it's nearly guaranteed to get Spider Web, and unlike Ariados, it looks like it might have good speed to make use of it more effectively (hope it gets Baton Pass...!)

Ah poor Ledian. Sucks even harder than Ariados. They should give it a superawesome Bug/Fighting power ranger inspired evo >_>

Next generation will give it evolve via a level up with growth hormone, ala the bad guys from Power Rangers supersizing (do they still do that? been a decade or more since I saw it)

Ledian should never get a evo,its a horrible pokemon, hercross is the one who really needs a evolution.
Right... so we should give new evolutions to the 500BST Pokemon who already possess the power to rip apart unprepared teams, rather than the horrible Pokemon who deserve a little love to make them useable, respectable battlers?

I'm afraid I don't follow.

But maybe that's just because I can't unsee Ledian as a six-fisted Red Ranger. I lol'd at that... nice one Wishy. Talk about a comment that brings all the Power Ranger fans to the yard.

I got the most insane Para-hax Idea.

Move: Overload
Type: Electric
PP: 5
Accuracy: 85%

User sacrifices itself to create a vortex that Paralyzes and Confuses your opponents pokemon that switch in.

Electric-types switched in absorb this vortex for an all stat boost of +1.

(It does nothing to the current pokemon on the field, and it functions like a Electric type, Grounds are immune.)

i want more high risk-high reward moves, like belly drum
Yeah, I totally hate how the only way to win with a setup are Double-DDs.

Also, I'd really love a Ledian evo. This things has a really nice movepool. And as a power ranger, it would get the elemental punches for sure. xD

Well, while most new evolutions are given to pokemon who already had some potential in the first place, we also have the odd Ambipom, Probopass, Lickilicky or Tangrowth. So there's hope... ^^

Good points.
Breloom is 460 BST while #1 Scizor, at 500, is among the lowest in OU.
I guess it shows how far a neat typing, ability, good moves and at least one excellent stat can take a Pokemon.

On another note, I'm really happy with the variety of information that's been revealed so far.
There have been several unique abilities in Illusion, Overconfidence, Invigorate and those of the Pressure-less title Legendaries.
We also have several Pokemon with never-before-seen typings in Meguroko, Reshiram, Zekrom and possibly Denchura/Desukan and some of the other "weird" ones without names.
If this is what they can afford to show us now (out of ~150 Pokemon?) I think I'll enjoy this game.

Good fan art heals all wounds

<-- Don't tell me you wouldn't want that evo
click for bigger pics btw.

On the topic of new moves and things, I'd personally like to see/I'm expecting to see more stat lowering Intimidate-esque abilities rather than more Pressure uses. (Which doesn't Pressure sound like it SHOULD lower a stat?) It will probably be a Sp.Attack lowering ability, but I'm really hoping for a (Sp.) Defense lowering ability. That would really have some potential. Would you like to get that 2-hit KO on Jirachi instead of 3HKO? I know I would.

And I really hope that Sarcophaghost is Ghost/Steel. Having a Steel pokemon completely immune to Fighting (and a Ghost pokemon that doesn't get ended by Pursuit.) Now THAT would be interesting.

I'm new btw, but not new to the metagame.

Edit: Also inb4SACOFAGEIS(T). (Try saying that name in polite company) I'm predicting you Game Freak!

This new triple battle system could make some pokemon that are currently useless be extremely helpful or at least usable.

Has the evolution for the water starter been confirmed? It's the first time I see a picture of it. Definitely going to be water/fighting if you ask me. I predict the sarcophagus thing to be either rock/ghost or ground/ghost.

He says on top "Good fan art" Lol.

All it needs is a stat boost. They made it far too weak, even for a Bug type.

Well, all early-bug pokémon have 385-390 BST and shitty movepools.

@Mario with Lasers, yeah, because they've NEVER made a Pokemon who had one stat that didn't improve when it evolved.

I demand you show me one pokémon that didn't increase its HP upon evolution and is not called Scizor or Shedinja (as their evolutions are exceptions).

Phanphy's HP stat remains the same, at 90 base, when it evolves into Donphan.

Oh fuck this >__>

Even so, going three generations back and evolving an early-bug pokémon doesn't seem much likely to me (me). And like others said, two pokémon being of similar species does not make them part of the same family. See poor, poor Carnivine.
