Well, I didn't know what Mijumaru would evolve into, but my best guess would have been a bigger, meaner-looking otter. Which would have been pretty obvious. But since now he's apparently a samurai otter for some reason (not going to question it), you never know. I still hope Pokabu becomes Fire/Ground, though. I don't think "original" is the word you're looking for, but something less obvious.
For the record, Mijumaru's name appears to be something like "Rokkomaru" in the anime pre-production sketches, and the evolution is apparently called "Rokkonosuke". Based on this, an educated guess of its name is probably something like Mijunosuke.
This naming scheme, along with the attack Shell Blade, support the whole samurai theme. -maru and -suke are both stereotypical samurai name suffixes.
Grass/Steel is weak to fighting, too.
Not trying to hate, but what can be more original? There hasn't been any boar/pigs types besides Grumpig possibly.
Agreed about Fire/Bug, though...that'd be nice if they made it decent.

I take offense to this. Green's sprites looked like shit. Red and Blue's were the right mix of awful and hilarity that made them the best.

I don't really see much difference between Green, Red or Blue, they still look pretty aweful. Koffing, Exeggutor and several others looked pretty terrible.

Don't know what the really strange looking thing next to Jessie's foot is named. Rather, I can't see it. The bat is Coromori, Mijumaru is dubbed as "Rakkomaru" here, and Tsutarja is called as "Ivy". Pokabu is still Pokabu. The Mijumaru evolution is Rakonosuke (not Rakkonosuke for some reason... probably because it breaks the 5-character limit... and you thought our limit was bad). Can't read Tsutarja evo's name either.
An educated guess says Rakonosuke's official name is probably "Mijunosuke". I bet it was changed to "Miju" instead of "Rakko" because rakko is too long of a word (there's no really no other reason to change it-- "rakko" means" otter, but it was replaced by the less obvious "miju" from "mijuku" meaning immature... or at least that's what Pokebeach says it means.
Sorry to go off-topic, but the probability of having a good discussion on the GameFAQs Black/White boards is near impossible. Couple days ago some airport meme took over and every single topic was invaded by idiots talking about airports. And now everyone is hooked on calling gen5 gen7.

What the flying fuck is that deformed thing between Iris and Jessie? and lol @ 2D Pokabu and angry Mijumaru. The character sketches do look real... And considering the female character matches up exactly with the silouhette revealed in the anime... I'm pretty sure this is real, and I'm glad Mijumaru2 is a Samurai badass. Now... Who is that Italian with the Umbreon?
