I don't see how you're seeing that. Both Mijumaru and Mijumaru's evolution ("Rakkomaru" and "Rakonosuke") start with the "ra" kana and it doesn't resemble what indescribable thing's name starts with.

Also, although I know you're only guessing what the name could mean, but it really doesn't resemble a raccoon at all.

I found this on the GameSpot forums 0.o

"I finally could read the name of mijumaru's evo.
Ra.ko.no.nu.shi - ƒ‰ƒRƒmƒkƒV
"
I don't know what it means though...

What??? Bagon is a classic case of a kid being bullied and then going on to bully other kids.

So yeah... I hate Salamence. Mijumaru is way too cool to be compared to Bagon or Salamence. >.<

What you said was purely equivalent exchange... but nevertheless i'm inclined to prefer the sapphire poke dex entry:

"By evolving into SALAMENCE, this POKéMON finally realizes its long-held dream of growing wings. To express its joy, it flies and wheels all over the sky while spouting flames from its mouth."

Let's try to not hate any poke shall we? ;p

who care's what mijumaru's evo is going to be named?
we will find out eventually but not yet, and until we find out we will call him by his japanese name or call him derpotter 2

They're definitely wrong-- Rakononushi is close, but Rakonosuke actually makes sense, so -nosuke is typical Japanese name suffix, as with Mijumaru and "Rakkomaru", where -maru is a typical Japanese name suffix. I think it's used, at least in Rakonosuke, to give an old-fashioned, samurai-like feel to the name. -maru is a cute naming thing to give the implication you care for something, like "my dear [x]". Can also be taken to mean round, etc...., but I don't feel like that was the intended meaning in this case given Rakonosuke. 10 bucks says final evolution will end with -zaemon.

EDIT: Oh, was he talking about Rakonosuke/Mijumaru evo or indescribable thing next to Jessie?

Well I don't really hate him, just that description of him. I'm inclined to think if Pokemon were real, each one would have their own personality, unlike Pokedex entries and Bulbapedia which suggest each individual Pokemon is the same as any other.

Well at least his loved now,its a total cyndaquil situation, first one looked bad then the rest were awesome.

What the hell are you saying! Cyndaquil was always awesomesauce, and he just grew more awesomesaucer and awesomesaucer as he evolved!

And Salamence's dex entry makes him look like a total badass to me anyways.

Also, that Wotter comic made me barf.

And because i feel i'm starting to sound like a troll, i will say that i love you all!

LOVE IT

That changed my mind about SadOtter so fast. Thanks Eric!

All that it needs now is the Samurai evo.

I'm getting way too excited for this generation, and it's still like 10 months away :(

wow, I leave for vacation and now everyone loves Wotter b/c of a fanart samurai evo... wow... In the new real picture, Mijumaru grew taller and got a different pose. That's definitely gonna get him a samurai evo >.> *coughconformistscough* this just makes me hate the overdesigned otter even more.

And then Tsutaja's evo actually gains some features besides height and pose and everyone hates him now. I mean seriously, he got leaves on his back and a darker coloring, and now he is the least liked starter. Just can't wait until Wotter has the ugliest final evo and stats jumbled up like Leafeons or Glaceons.

Anyone else remembering Shell Blade right now?

Anyone else remembering Shell Blade right now?

Didn't I mention this a while back...? I guess everyone totally missed the post where I said "Rakkomaru" and Rakonosuke's names, why "Rakkomaru" was changed to "Mijumaru", and why I think the line was being based on, for whatever reason, samurai, since apparently we were still trying to figure out what Mijumaru evo's name was. But yeah, this compounded with the very uniquely Japanese suffixes attached to their names, Shell Blade, and the general look of Mijumaru's second stage pretty much screams samurai to me. But you never know, I could be totally wrong and totally misinterpreting everything.

Also lol at all the people NOW saying "I totally liked wotter from the start." Not gonna lie, I never did, and I won't unless I see it's final evo and it is a samurai otter.

Hmm, this is true.
I actually never thought of it until I saw your post.
It could be to Ononokusu what Gible is to Garchomp.
After looking closely at the sketch I see the possible beginnings of the huge tusks we saw on the big guy.

Uh, did you even compare the fan art and the picture? They are exactly the same, albeit the fan art made an educated guess on the colors, but the colors aren't really that important in this case. Also, seriously guys, we don't know the colors. Only a few characters are colored on that sheet, for all we know Tsutarja evo could be the exact same colors as Tsutarja, since it's not colored, and it's in black and white.

Also, "conformists" are when everybody thinks Axeheadmon is bug-like because Serebii looked at a blurry picture of it and said it looked mantis like but clearly isn't even after we see slightly better images of it.

Maybe, I haven't been keeping up with this thread as much because I ran out of good ideas for Pokemon and moves.

This I would settle for, just give it Cloud Nine to be a anti-weather,but why they never gave it Cloud Nine I will never know, its a flippin cloud. It really does need a good flying attack instead of alot of singing based crap
And for the last time, nothing can be only flying because of ROOST!

And Ericcc just started a wave of Mijimaru love.

To be fair, roost wasn't around in ADV.

Anyway, If Altaria had an ability that was an auto-weather inducer of a weather effect that benefitted flying types, that would give it a p. awesome little niche.

As do I, thanks for posting. I still want to know... what IS that guy!?

Thanks for bring that quote back up. And Shell Blade is all the more evidence to support the idea of a samurai-esque evolution.

The artist who drew that thinks it supposed to be a virus.

Uh, the only similar part of the fanart to the real sheet is the ugly things head. I really don't see any other similar part on it. Also, Smugleaf2's back is basically black which means that it's darker than its main color (white).

Also, might want to get a dictionary and look up "conformist". Anyway, I really don't want to continue this conversation of my own oppinion as I have to do this on a dsi and takes 10 min. for 1 post

Hmmm... I'm actually doing some research right now, but I honestly actually can't find any samurai armor that resembles Mijumaru evo's thingie. I could have sworn it LOOKED samurai-like, but it would only vaguely resemble some kinds of samurai faulds... I might be wrong on this. But the names... I guess we won't know for a while.

I think the otter's evo name is Rakonosuke. Its really hard to read since the picture is not that clear. But its pretty safe to say that its name is Rakonosuke.

PS: The samurai otter looked so cool! Now the table is turned, what starter I will pick is up to the final evolution. I still like the second evo of the grass pokemon. Now both of them is looking cool. 2 of the starters are looking great which never happened to me. Best starter set yet!

Well, it's definitely "rakonosu" anyway. I originally thought it was rakonosua, but it could be an I at the end, making 'sui' which makes sense considering its type. I really don't see how you're seeing a 'ke' at the end. Just because rakonosuke makes sense doesn't mean that's a 'ke'.

Are you so desperate to hate everything about Mijumaru? Here's a picture for comparison to the fanart of the actual art complete with 12342345354 hours in MS Paint worth of coloring to show where everything is.

2z6tkyx.png

(actually, I can't find the tail in the picture, but the tail isn't even the main point I'm trying to get across anyway)

Darker than WHO'S main color, Tsutarja's, who isn't even colored on that picture for comparison, or Tsutarja evo's, whose lower body is pretty damn to close to white anyway if it's similar to Tsutarja's colors?

Conformist

–noun 1. a person who conforms, esp. unquestioningly, to the usual practices or standards of a group, society, etc.

Albeit the "usual practices or standards of a group, society, etc." in this case is an opinion on appearance, I've used it in the exact same sense as you did, hence why I chose to use it when I did. Don't tell me to look up something that I'm correct on simply to insult me, especially when I know what the word means just by looking it up.

You're all conforming to the internet, smogon and its rules, and the dictionary. /stupid conversation

Anyways, this month's CoroCoro should be interesting.
