NBA Season 2009-2010

1) What Lebron did was unforgiveable. He spat on the faces in the city that he's been playing for so long. He was their hero, their only hope in the bleak future of a city. Look at Cleveland, what have they got going for them? The economic recession just raped the city, and employment rates are down. Cleveland was his hometown, and he took his little bitch face to national television, to tell his supporters, those who have been cheering him on since his debut, those who have grown up knowing Lebron James as their childhood hero, that he was leaving them. I'm not saying leaving was the wrong move; I felt that Lebron could never win a championship in Cleveland. Yet, the way he went about it was wrong: spitting on the fans of your hometown that have cherished you for so long, that's just unforgiveable. Shame on you Lebron.

2) Gilbert is a tool. Yes we know your star player just left. Yes we know you and the city are feeling upset. Don't post a freaking Internet letter, talking smack about your former player, when you also had a hand in his leaving. Your coddling, the fact that you never held Lebron accountable, left him thinking that he was in charge, not you. You contributed to his whole damn ego, one of the biggest reasons that he held this stupid special on national television. Then you go on ranting in a letter in COMIC SAN, about how hurt you are. Don't be a bitch, I'm glad I never had someone like you as an owner of the teams I love.

3) Stop comparing teams to the Miami heat. THey haven't filled their roster yet, and yet there are comparisons to the LA Lakers etc etc etc. Let's wait until they fill their roster and we actually SEE the power trio in action. Speculation in here will only create flame wars.

I wish Lebron the best wherever he goes. He's a great player, and I believe he could be the future of the NBA. Yet, his ego needs a downtuning if he wants to keep the respect he has earned for the past 7 years. You may win rings, Mr James, but you'll never win the respect of those who have loved you.

We are all witnesses as he said. Witnesses to shame.

I was never a LeBron fan and I always suspected he was not a winner. But he really just kinda proved this to everyone. He took the "easy" way out by making the decision based on personal greed (dont gimme that team bullshit). I mean its cool that you want to leave, but going to someone elses team to achieve your goal of historical legacy isn't the way to do it. And lets be honest, championships are done for the legacy.. and LeBron's will always be the guy that left when the going got tough to an assembled "super team" where if he wins, it will now be "the trio" and if he loses the blame isn't on him like it was in Cleveland. LeBron basically lost the right to EVER be mentioned in the same sentence of any of the greats.. and now even Kobe Bryant (yes, dont disrespect Kobe by mentioning LeBron's name in the same sentence).

Bottom line is, LeBron wants to win immediately and he doesn't want to work that hard for it.

Not to mention the way it was done was 100% classless.

And contrary to popular believe, Miami is still not the favorite in the east. Boston and Orlando are still the favorites, and we shouldn't be sleeping on Chicago either, picking up Boozier was huge for them.

1) What Lebron did was unforgiveable

Stop bullshitting all over yourself. Rape is unforgivable, murder is unforgivable. Public humiliation is pretty unforgivable, but that is not what really happened here; this was more like public abandonment, and the only thing he abandoned was love.

Maybe he will come out of this unhappy and morose, but even that would not prove it was unforgivable, it would just prove it was incredibly stupid (which it absolutely was).

it is unforgivable to leave a team that you can't win a championship on vs organizations that dump or trade players the moment they screw up.

Miami's Roster Plans are starting to shape up now. With the Big three's contract being signed, this gives Miami about 5-6 million to work with which they're gonna throw at Mike Miller. Mike could probably make about a Million more in his first year if he signs at the MLE somewhere else but it's actually even with the state income tax difference. Mike Miller has reportedly said that he's not concerned about the money, he wants to win. After signing Mike Miller, Miami would go after Shaq for the minimum. Lakers was right about what Shaq said but the problem his options are disappearing fast. His main options were Dallas and Boston but thats gone now. Shaq is currently entertaining the idea of returning to South Beach.

In other news, Felton has signed with the Knicks (first year salary starting at 7 mil) and the Bulls have signed Korver and have made an offer to Reddick. Oh and Tyrus Thomas resigned with the Bobcats for 40 mil. Ew.

So at the end of the day, Miami's roster will be looking something like this

Chalmers/Livingston or *gulp* A.I.
Wade/D'sean Butler
James/Miller and/or *gulp* T-Mac
Bosh/Joel Anthony
Shaq/Joel Anthony (resigned)/Dexter Pittman

in other news heat are going to get mike miller and udonis haslem with the amount of money from trading beasley and are now talking to fisher hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

yeah this whole 3 stars thing def wont work cause rest of team is trash no chance

Oh I totally forgot about Haslem. I HIGHLY doubt Fisher would sign with Miami (even with his daughter doing much better now) because the LA situation is so perfect. Steve Blake can play the bulk of the minutes throughout the regular season and then when it comes playoff time, he can play more.

Fisher won't go to the Heat... Shaq won't go to the Heat... Both of them have experience with Kobe, and it'll just be stressful for them to deal with three divas in one team if all goes wrong. Hell, why do you think Shaq stepped up in the playoffs last year when LeBron quit on the team? (Yes, he quit. His expressions, his attitude, and his enthusiasm for playing basketball were all absent in the series vs. Boston. He quit.) Shaq thought he could win in Cleveland, but LeBron definitely could have helped him out with whatever was needed to do considering Shaq is more successful.

Sum it all up, he secretly hates LeBron. He just won't say it publicly how much of a diva he is.

And Fish? Yeah, he is the catalyst to Kobe's inhibitions to completely take over the game. It's been proven for many years. Thing is, it took him his entire career to develop that relationship. Send him to the Heat and he will have the dubious role of simmering down the egos of three spoiled players who want to have fun instead of take the seriousness that the games used to be. Sure, he has the determining instinct, but if things go wrong, he will get shit from three stars instead of one.

Oh and Bosh isnt a superstar. All-star yes but shoddy defense and rebounding skills will leave him vulnerable. They could win a championship, but definitely not their first year...

Think Iverson/Anthony/Martin Nuggets from the mid-decade, only with more talents and inflated egos, and you have the 2010-2011 Miami Heat.

And Shaq himself is above diva-esq tendencies? XD

It'll be interesting to see who else the Heat can get to compliment them though. Hope those future draft picks they're forgoing won't come back to haunt them.

Yeh man, and Dexter Pittman/Joel Anthony are gonna be the greatest tandom of centers ever on a team mark it down right now since rookie centers who werent even that good in college drop 20/10 everytime in their first year and this just in: Mario Chalmers has already locked up MVP for the next season since he has some great hidden potential that makes everyone think hes actually more than just an average PG

Im still waiting for you to answer me by the way how you expect three people who dont know what losing really is yet to forfeit shots and ego's just for winning. Please explain to me how a 25 year old with a big ass head and sky high ego is gonna sacrafice shots for the team when hes used to having the entire offense ran through him please tell me

Hey you forgot to mention that Da'sean Butler is gonna be six man of the year!

If Dwayne Wade can win with Jermaine Oneal's carcass then he, Bosh and LeBron can win with Shaq's weight and Joel Anthony. And Mario Chalmers.

You do understand that they don't need world beaters here right? All these guys have been able to do at will when it's 1-5 throughout their careers. Now it's 3-5, at times 4-5. Trust me, they'll take those odds gladly. All they need for the Center position is a big body who can guard the likes of Kendrick Perkins and Dwight Howard (remember these guys have no post moves) and a PG who can shoot some (LeBron James will probably handle the ball more as he has in the Olympics/All Star games).

They're not looking for Tim Duncan and Chris Paul (He's coming 2012!), they just need role players. Say it with me - role. players. If MJ + Pippen + Dennis Rodman + Roleplayers = The greatest team of all time, Wade + LeBron + Bosh + Roleplayers = Something not too far off.

And don't even START to say how good MJ's teammates were.

Im not saying that they need a Timmy D or a Chris Paul, but comeon Joel Anthony is nothing even close to a Perkins, and Chalmers cant shoot 3's consistently. Theres a difference if we start talking about MJ's team he pretty much had everything you are talking about...

I never argued that they didnt need role players, but the point is how do you expect them to get these role players? Again, I guess we need to see how much cap Miami has left after these 3 work out the numbers, and from the Beasley trade that opened up enough for Mike Miller.

Also, Jordan actually had decent role players around him. Luke Longley was an average center unlike Joel Anthony, and Dennis Rodman didn't even need to score he would grab about 18 rebounds a game and shut down their best big man. Along with that Jordan and Pippen were 1st defensive team material, while a guy like Lebron is the most overrated man defender possibly in the history of the NBA, and the Heat have other defensive liabilities. Im not even gonna argue it further because im not trying to prove that Jordans teamates were amazing or something but he also didnt have Joel Anthony or Dexter Pittman has his starting center when the top 3 teams in the League all have big men that can just destroy them

.... and you're telling me Hakeem, Shaq, David Robinson etc. couldn't DESTROY Luke Longley?

And I'm sorry, One legged Andrew Bynum and (now one legged) Kendrick Perkins wont be destroying anyone. Also if Miami's centers turn from Anthony/Pittman to Shaq/Brad Miller, things become a bit different, no? At any rate, that's all speculation. We'll just have to see when FA is over.

Its not about just scoring on him, tell me how Joel Anthony Bosh (who is as soft as Gasol by the way), and Pittman will be able to outrebound and handle the size of Gasol/Bynum/Odom... Perkins is gonna be full health before the playoffs anyway, and they added Jermaine Oneal which just adds more size (also, he was averaging 20 ppg at one point in the season so i dont know why you think hes so terrible and Wade piggybacked him). I just dont understand how anybody thinks they'll be able to handle their size when Bosh is soft Joel Anthony is a huge LOL fest and Dexter Pittman honestly cant be counted on. Only thing they'll have to rely on is when Lebron gets his 20 calls a game and only averages about 1.3 fouls per game even though hes around contact all the time

And yes, it changes a bit if they sign Brad and Shaq which would be highly highly unlikely. Then again, Shaq will be around 38/39 and I cant even remember the last time Brad Miller has played at a high level

I thought you were a Rockets fan. Granted it will be the finals, but Yao will annihlate this team. It's actually interesting for me because Houston matches up so well against this team, with two excellent perimeter defenders (or Martin can enter a scoring duel with Wade), two guys in Brooks and Yao who can rip apart the weak points of the Heat and an incredibly deep team which the Heat won't have. Destroying these pansies in the Finals would be the greatest moment of my life.

hahahahahaha Shaq was the SINGLE biggest problem for the Cavaliers, other than maybe the insane refusal to play J.J. Hickson more than 9 minutes all series after he had been successful already.

Never liked Shaq, but I do think he tried in the Boston series, unlike Ledouche. He's just completely washed up at this point and needs to retire.

I am also a Rockets fan lol

Miami and Houston have always been my favorite teams. I'd love to see a Houston - Miami finals as well except I don't wish utter doom on Miami of course.

There's not a Center in the league who can stop a healthy Yao Ming. So there's Houston's chances in a nutshell. Yao Ming is has the key.

Still, I think too many people are underestimating who Dwayne Wade is. I guess only Darkie would know. I don't care if LeBron is a bitch, loser, whatever. Flash has the heart of a Champion - he will lead this team to the promised land. It's not a question of if, it's when Kobe retires.

Lakers said:
they added Jermaine Oneal which just adds more size (also, he was averaging 20 ppg at one point in the season so i dont know why you think hes so terrible and Wade piggybacked him).

Jermaine O'neal 2010 Playoffs Avgs:

4.2 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 23.4 MPG EFFICIENCY RATING OF 4.4 (To put it in perspective, Wade and LeBron each had efficiency ratings above 30)

Simply put, Jermaine O'neal was the worst player in the playoffs and it wasn't even close

Whether he was trying or not, Shaq was gassed everywhere on the floor every game. Cleveland with any average center who can move instead of Shaq is a whole different series (Sheed was bad, but at least could still KIND of move).

Why is no one talking about the Bulls? Can we shut up about the Heat? The Bulls are probably going to add JJ Reddick, giving them a career .392 three point shooter (who shot a hair over 40% at 111/274 attempts last year) and a career 41% three point shooter (Korver went 53.6% last year but that is obviously an aberration, the Bulls are going to get somewhere from 38 to 43%). They were already a team that was improving rapidly, probably would have put up 50 wins without any changes. But now they got Boozer, Korver, and Reddick?? This team is my pick for #1 in the east next year if the Reddick signing goes through.

(Hopefully this keeps Rose from shooting more than 50 threes a year unless he ever learns to shoot them)

the bulls are arguably elite. noah just has to stay healthy since he's the only guy on that roster that has size to compete with the top boys.

and yes, today's playoffs and the NBA draft has proven that size does matter... at least today it does.

hahahahahaha Shaq was the SINGLE biggest problem for the Cavaliers, other than maybe the insane refusal to play J.J. Hickson more than 9 minutes all series after he had been successful already.

That is why LeBron wouldn't recruit Shaq. I'm saying Shaq wouldn't want to go there anyway because he doesn't want to play with quitters.

Shaq has already said he likes the idea of playing with Miami lol. Remember - a shot to beat Kobe in the Finals? Can't pass that up.

Looking forward to watching my man Patrick Patterson continue to light the Summer League on fire tonight against the Mavs. He's so polished it's crazy. I didn't think they'd replace Carl Landry so quickly.

The addition of Carlos Boozer does not make the Bulls a legit team. He'll do great during the regular season, he'll post up some nice numbers, but he's not going to lead them to the promised land in the postseason. No defense, meh offense against teams that have someone who can defend him (lollakers). The Bulls are gonna need more than Boozer to be legit.

Shaq works great for a playoff team if they use him for 15-20 minutes per game to minimize his negatives. Obviously should only be used when he needs to bang with other big bodies. He was horrible in Cleveland because their offense was fucking horrible and they really never had a way of incorporating Shaq into their offense. Blame Mike Brown for doing such an incompetent job with that. If you have a working half court set, then Shaq works great as long as you minimize his minutes and maximize what he has left. He's still a 7 foot, 300+ lb monstrosity. The only real issue with Shaq if you follow that is his motivation level and staying healthy. On that note, I don't see him going to Miami.

Miami probably won't win it all until they get a season under their belt. Gotta see what kind of playstyle the Heat decide to run, how their defense is, and what the team will even look like first. Depending on that, they could probably win this year.
