...i personally think that the silhouette bird is either the final evo for mamepato or maybe a bird that doesn't have any pokemon related to it.
Also I kinda hope that its normal/flying, just so Gen V isn't really new because if too many things change, GF might lose some of its earlier fans.

I can't believe people honestly think it's a Mamepato evo... Is it just because it happens to be a bird?
If I did like evolve into that or something(if its not legendary) I would need to change my pants a couple times lol.
The possibilities are very limited, it can be;
Mamepato's final evolution
An evolution to an existing pokemon (very unlikely) or
A stage 1 (basic stage for you TGC fans) pokemon. I wasn't here for D/P theorymon but i don't think that NFE or final evolution pokemon are shown before their prevolutions.

this has been mentioned before, but this Pokemon must be of some importance to get a silhouette all on it's own. that would make me think it's either legendary, pseudo-legendary, or just a normal Pokemon and Game Freak is running out of stuff they want to show us.
based on it's appearance from the silhouette, I don't think it's a legendary. it looks too small, and too plain... not legendary-y enough overall, if you ask me (not by todays standards, at least. this might change once we see it's art). I'm hoping it's the pseudo-legenday, because one that's not a reptile/dragon of some sort would be amazing (Metagross is the exception). I hope this is just the first stage of it's evolution, in that case, and that it's final form is based off a Roc.

I think it will be a legend like Heatran. Not really part of the land's lore, just on its own doing its own thing. It has to be important to be silhouetted imo.

If the beak was longer I would be screaming Fearow evo, speaking of which why the hell doesn't it learn Brave Bird but pretty much every bird Pokemon except for Delibird I think is able to.
Anways, this thing is automatically awesome because its a giant eagle (or some other type of raptor). Hope it gets intimidate or some other useful ability that will help it sweep.
to be fair, it's legs are, you know, thick as hell. much thicker than almost every other Bird Pokemon we have. that's definitely something, and would imply that the bird it's based off of is quite powerful/large, or is wearing pants. considering Mamepato is a pigeon (which are not large/powerful), and that we've seen it's middle evolution already (or what is most likely it's evolution), I highly doubt this new Pokemon is related to it. I have no clue why they would dedicate a single silhouette to Mamepato's final evolution, especially when they haven't officially shown it's middle evolution yet. unless they simultaneously reveal a ton of other Pokemon (including it's middle evolution) as a surprise, I'm guessing it's more important/not related to Mamepato.

This is like an extremely better Staraptor, lol. With the Fighting-type, it loses it's SR weakness, AND it gets STAB on Close Combat (assuming it gets it).. and Battle Cry too? Damn, this thing would be a beast.

Yeah, a Fighting/Flying would be great in the competitive metagame(assuming it has good sweeping stats, good STABs and that there isn't a sudden rush of electric/psychic/flying/etc types in the new gen)
