The guy in Twilight. He's sparkly.

Can there be no new water types please? Just Mijumaru, and maybe some filler fish to dilute Tentacool. In a perfect world we wouldn't even get Mijumaru. But I digress. The Pokedex is chock full of waters, and I want room for other stuff. Also, I can't see anywhere on the map where you have to cross water without a bridge. Maybe I'll get my wish.

Makes me think if people could actually miss the water in Pokémon. God knows how many people complained about the Eastern half of Hoenn...

Looking at the Isshu map it doesn't really look like we're going to be doing a lot of Surfing. There seems to be the Obligatory Water Route and some random lakes and that's it. That's pretty cool...I hated excessive surf, that was the only part I did not like of the otherwise excellent RSE generation (although it makes sense within the context of the game, land vs sea would not be very dramatic if land took up 90% of the place)

the major areas in Isshu seem to be the desert, the two mountains on either side of the region, and the various forests in between everything. the rest is either cities, or the rivers/oceans that don't seem to be very accessible. there seems to be little places where water exploration (and by association a ton of water types) would come up much.

the exception seems to be the centre part, which looks like it may be accessible, the marshland and castle in the upper left part of the map (both of which could easily include other types as well), and the small lake on the bottom right edge of the map (which is close to the starting town, probably to give some sort of water type for you to use). everything else is small rivers, which are irrelevant and would probably only contain things like Magikarp and Psyduck and other such low level water types.

that being said, I'm fine with water types, as long as they aren't crammed in with bland typings, like Sinnoh was. if the typings were more unique and varied, as well as having the Pokemon spread out more, I don't think people would complain as much. another Water/Electric would be cool, for example. Water/Ghost is a new typing, which I'm sure no one would complain about if we got it. Water/Fire would be interesting just to see what they would come up with to explain the typing. personally, I would like a Water/Poison leech Pokemon, but that's just me.

I mentioned it earlier, and it's starting to make even more sense. Could N be Zoroark under an Illusion? Who would want to free Pokemon more than a Pokemon itself? And check out the hair.

Also, it will be kind of ridiculous if you have to battle N.
"Pokemon are people too! Meat is murder! Free the pogeymaans! Oh, right after I let you beat the crap out of them with your starter."

Yes, and an interesting fact- flip "N" sideways, and its becomes "Z". In the new movie Phantom Champion Z, Z is Zoroak, so perhaps "N" is "Z" in a "different form" (just like "N" is "Z" in sideways form) because when Zoruak uses "Illusion" it is in a different form!

Perhaps after you beat the game you capture him?

I'm really curious with the plt in both versions. If you look at Reshiram and Zekrom, the NaturexTechnology comparison is kinda obvious. Reshiram has a solid and plain color, not much detail (except for the turbine ass), feathers and 'hair'. Zekrom kinda looks like a robot, has mech-like wings, uses electricity to move and has strange stripes and symbols. However, the white version is the nature-based one and the black is the urban one. Black has the Black CITY and White the White FOREST, while pokebeach showed a screenshot of a town that changed appearance between versions, and it was covered with grass in white and all 'modern' in black. Perhaps Team Plasma, the secondary villain, is trying to use the legends to transform White's nature into a city, using Zekrom, and Black's city into nature, using Reshiram?

Exactly what i've been thinking.

Did anyone notice Isshu looks a lot like manhattan, ny... i mean it looks like an island surrounded by 2 rivers and with bridges... not to mention a huge metropolis city... also look at the ports around the two... also look at how lower manhattan is much larger than the rest and looks similar to huin city

GF did say that isshu is far away from everything else and manhattan is pretty far

Manhattan:

I never realised how much it looks like Manhattan, but the one problem I have with that theory is that there's no large desert above the large skyskrapers at the bottom. Also, are there any mountains just outside of that shot?

Well manhattan used to very mountainous and there are a couple of surrounding mountains. also central park, the square of green the middle of the picture, has a lake in it and is in about the same location as the big pokeball in isshu. the desert doesn't make sense to me, maybe it's just gf being creative?

Manhattan is a very convincing argument, so I'm not sure anymore. However, much, much earlier in this thread, someone brought up a postulate that it was based on a part of China:

It's just rotated about 90 degrees. Hiun City represents Shanghai, and the Taihu lake could represent the circular area in the center of Isshu.

Admittedly, the China area also does not have a desert or mountains like the Manhattan area. It just covers a lot more space than Manhattan.

Both are possibilities.

way back when the picture of hiun city first came out i already thought it was based on new york, but i couldn't find a good picture to post my idea with, lol.

The water evo otter should get 101/72/82/82/92/101 stats and clam mind/surf/aura sphere/recover or substitute for major pain.

And if the pig turns into a ground/fire wild boar thing it will be really akward to make a good set.

high speed/sp atk for the lizard would be cool and dark/grass typing.

Earthquake/Fire Blast/Roar or SR/Slack Off OR Earthquake/Overheat/HP Electric or Grass/Stone Edge. If it gets good Atk and SpAtk, and above average bulk and speed, I could see it becoming a pretty good bulky mixed attacker. Its type combination would allow it to switch in on most Electric-types that don't have HP Water (and things like Scizor), force them out, and heal off the damage with Slack Off.

I hope we get a flying Pokemon that doesn't suck, then someone cool in the beginning. I'm planning on using all 3 starters + Koffingbat and someone else. I'd use Shimama if his name stays as Shimama.

Shimama. Shimama and Mojanbo. Haha.
