I'm working on a LO Sceptile, and I need a move to use over HP Fire, because mine has HP Grass, any advice?
Is it possible to get a 2 flawless IVed Legend in HGSS. This is because I am still trying to SR for a Flawless Atk and Speed Jolly Rayquaza. This is because I still cant get RNG to work and have nothing decent to trade lol.
So What is the highest possible Flawless you can get from SR.
In HeartGold, where is the guy that can tell you your Pokemon's Hidden Power?
1.) When is a Pokemon Uber?
2.) I think the tiers are perfect how they are so we don't need to change them, do we?
I'm currently breeding two Gibles both with flawless Att, Sp Att and Speed. The female is Modest, holding Power Bracer, and the male is Naive, holding Everstone.
I got another female newborn with Naive nature and flawless Att, Sp Att and Speed, but woeful defense.
With these three Gibles and hold items, how can I adjust them to improve the chances of having stronger offsprings?
I plan to play through Gold (the original, not HeartGold) sometime soon. I plan to have Ho-Oh on my team, and I've got its moveset mostly planned out: Fly, Shadow Ball, Flash, and a Fire-type move. And I was wondering, which Fire-type move should I use: Sacred Fire or Fire Blast? Consider this: Both moves have the same PP. Sacred Fire has 100 power, Fire Blast has 120. Sacred Fire's accuracy is 95%, Fire Blast's is 85%. Sacred Fire has a 50% chance of burning, Fire Blast has a 10% chance of that. That last part would make Sacred Fire the obvious option for competitive battles, but in-game, is burn really all that important? Sleep is a better status for catching stuff, so I'm seriously considering using Fire Blast due to its higher power. But, is that really a good idea?
Ho-Oh has a higher base attack than special attack, Sacred Fire is a physical fire attack whereas Fire Blast is special-based, also Sacred Fire is one of Ho-Oh's unique points. I would stick with Sacred Fire.
No. Dragon Dance makes an Adamant Gyarados's Speed 391 max, and max Speed on Jolly Choice Band Azelf is 361. If you want to outrun Gyarados, use Choice Scarf or Baton Pass Azelf some speed. So on one of my teams, im using choice band Azelf. I give it thunderpunch cause I want to have a check to gyrados. however if they DD they outspeed and KO me (I run adamant). Would jolly outspeed? or should I drop some speed and attack EVs to keep the OHKO I need while being bulky enough to take a +1 waterfall?
Azelf is a really poor check to Gyarados; regardless of nature, pretty much every Gyarados you see with Dragon Dance will outspeed you after they use it once. A +1 Gyarados can OHKO after Stealth Rock unless you have 160 HP EVs, which is way more than you want to draw away from Azelf's speed and attack. I understand you may want Azelf to revenge kill Gyarados, but it would need a Scarf to be effective at that, and even then, do you really want to lock yourself into Thunderpunch, giving Ground types a free turn? I'd leave off Thunderpunch on a Choice set in general; Azelf just has better options. So on one of my teams, im using choice band Azelf. so can azelf survive a +1 waterfall without too much defence investment? or should I just suck it up and use something else to handle gyrados? (like HP electric on my slowbro over ice beam).
hmm, idk, its helped me through other bulky waters that give my team some trouble (most vaporeon). It also hits most steel neutrally (2hkos most heatran). Ice or fire punch let heatran screw me over. Since I use it late game I usually have managed their ground type. But yeah, looks like Azelf cant beat DD gyra without over specialization.
