I don't see your guys' reasoning behind this. Sure, Outrage is very powerful, but it's very easy to counter, since they get locked on in the move. I don't think they should adjust it at all, I have no problems with it.

The reason you don't have much trouble with it, at least right now, is because Salamence and Garchomp are in Ubers. And arguably they wouldn't even be Uber if Outrage wasn't so powerful. Outrage is terribly strong, same with Draco Meteor (although a bit less because the pseudo legend Dragons have higher attack).

Flip, I don't play with tiers. I see them everyday in random wi-fi, and I don't struggle with them at all. I wasn't talking about Shoddy.

Yeah, Chomp and Mence wouldn't be Uber more than likely if it weren't for outrage. The next strongest physical dragon move (iirc) is Dragon Claw, which is 40 base points under. So after stab, Dragon Claw is 120, and Outrage is 180. Big difference there. But another type to take dragons on would be very helpful for us in Ubers.

Garchomp never needed Outrage to score his OHKO and 2HKOs, Earthquake still 2HKOed all the bulky waters after a SD. +1 (Intimidate) Life Orb Dragon Claw does 93.4% to Offensive Gyarados, and Yache variants still had a very good chance with Stealth Rock (71.6% minimum) and Sandstorm. Salamence would definitely be OU, though. Draco Meteor is scary, but without a second insanely powerful attack it would have problems breaking through things like Calm Suicune.

nah no need for a new type at least this gen.I could see them tweaking around with the current types though.

The only typing change I can think I could support is giving Dragon resistance to Ice, since it's already Super Effective to Dragon, and is the worst defensive type in-game.

Well, let's just say a Garchomp on an Outrage after a Swords Dance is a lot more difficult to stop when you don't have a Lugia/Groudon/etc on your team ;)

That said, I don't think a new type will be introduced. I think we would have heard about it by now because of the hype it would have created.

Uh, I'm not into this whole Uber thing, but wasn't Mence classified Uber cuz nobody can switch in to it without taking major damage? And after Outrage is Dragon Rush

Apparently the first gen starters are going to be getting new abilities. If you were to give Venasuar, Charizard, and Blastoise new abilities what would they be? I would give Venasuar Poison Heal, Charizard Intimidate, and Blastoise Water Absorb

Here is what my Croconaw thinks:
Garchomp uses SD, Croconaw uses SD.
Croconaw uses Endure, Garchomp uses Outrage, Croconaw endure the attack.
Croconaw's Salac Berry raises its speed. Croconaw used Waterfall, bubye Gar :D
Goes like that everytime

kinda hard to have poison heal when Venusaur can't be poisoned..

so im supposed believe you use croconaw instead of feraligtr? or did not evolve yet?

Dragon Rush's accuracy makes it not even a viable option.

The type changes that should happen would be that Poison is SE against Water (and maybe Fighting), and Ice should resist Dragon.

Weren't we just talking about starters getting new abilities? It's like all our dreams are coming true this generation.

What's not to believe, I use an Aqua Jet Fera and a SD + Endure + Salac + Flail Croconaw. What's not to believe? I don't use 'the best' like most people here. Sig: I don't follow tiers, I like being creative.

I want Blastoise to become Water/Steel. Like, what exactly are those cannons made from if they're not Steel? >__> And all those extra resistances would make him so much more useful.

Kinda hard to imagine what ability Blastoise would get... Water Absorb would be cool. Hopefully he doesn't get stuck with Shell Armor which is kinda useless for the most part.

Charizard with... Intimidate? It'll give an edge over Moltres, somewhat.

Venusaur will probably get a sun related ability. Chlorophyll would be nice, but kinda lame. Solar Power would be awesome.

What's the point of using Croconaw when Feraligatr does whatever you want Croconaw to do, except better?

It's not really "creative" to use Croconaw instead of Gatr. Creative is a Mixed Gatr or something like that, Croconaw is just weaker.

Edit: Dream ability = Charizard with Gluttony.

If the rest of the starters are getting additional abilities, I wonder if that means the Isshu region starters will get them too?

Dragon Rush would actually be better off if it was a Dragon-type Air Slash. Slap it on something like Serene Grace Dragonite (it could get it via Dream World) and you have a really annoying Pokemon. Dragon Rush / Thunder Wave or DD / Substitute or Earthquake / Roost or Fire Punch.

its actually a good strat, and no one would ever expect it acctually

@wishy: they wouldn't up and change blastoises type. if they were gonna do that, it'd have been in gen 2 when they did the same w/ magneton. but a man can dream. fyi, his cannons are painted on.

on another note, they should give feraligatr swift swim

But if you play with no tiers, you seriously have no reason to complain about Outrage, lol. I mean, why bother with Outrage Mence when you have KYOGRE on the loose?

Goes like that everytime

+2 Adamant 252 Atk Croconaw using Waterfall on a 0/0 neutral Garchomp: 60.3% - 70.9%

+2 Adamant 252 Atk Feraligatr using Waterfall on a 0/0 neutral Garchomp: 72.1% - 84.9%

Nigga what

A Jolly 3+ (2+ from SD and 1+ with Torrent) Croconaw using waterfall on a standard SDChomp does 68.7% - 81%...

While a 0+ offensive Gyarados does 131.8% - 155.3% to the same Chomp off the bat with waterfall.

great strategy

:P I can also hope they decide to finally "discover" Blastoise is part Steel.
