Assuming the water monkey isn't fake, and that this means dento's gym is a triple battle against a fire monkey, grass monkey and water monkey, I hope one thing. That yanappu and co don't turn out to be like plusle and minun, and actually evolve. Preferably into different things.

Blue monkey->Baboon
Green monkey->Gorilla
Red monkey->Orangutan

Or something like that. It would really suck if Yanappu didn't evolve.

I really, REALLY dislike Mijumaru's final evolution. I'm still hoping that Serebii messed up, because this truly is the first gen where all of the evolutions look terrible.

I would be inclined to take the whining more seriously if it weren't a knee-jerk reaction to just about every Pokemon reveal!

Tstaaja's evo is quite close to what people were thinking though I'm quite surprised we have our first starter without hands or feet.
I always felt it would become a long snake but also thought vestigial limbs would remain.
I think it's quite cool; better than the middle form which is often the ugly duckling.

Mijumaru was my choice from the outset and I quite like the direction of the middle form.
The last stage is interesting but surprising; it's quite unusual for starters to go from bipedal to quadrupedal.
I'll have no problem using it...badass comes to mind.

I can't really see the face on Pokabu's final but he looks pissed.
There's a strong suggestion of Sumo Wrestler here which means...lol

The only Pokemon in Gen V I don't like are Hihidaruma and Koromori. Does that mean I'm not allowed to express my opinion?

Unfortunately, this will be the 3rd in a row..

Blaziken, Infernape, Hepigstus.

(Cause he's Greek and fiery). Lol.

Yeah, I know. I was talking about up till now. If pig is fire/fighting then 3 in a row >.>

And I really don't see the hate on Tsutaja's final. That thing looks rediculously bad ass and if these evos are real I'm definitely going to pick it :P

i honestly don't mind the the starter evolutions. At first I hated them but second look is leading me to the path of "acceptance." lol! But the water one is the one I was most worried about because I wanted him from the beginning. Now I can say I saw the beard coming because he is older and whiskers are a defining characteristic of otters and seals (which appears to have evolved into). I guess otter to seel isn't nearly as extreme as remoraid situation or even salamander charmander to fail dragon charizard. If I can still see him as water fighting. This is becasue I still see a hint of a samurai in his artwork. For one he has armor all over on his body even on his chest. Although his horn seems weird; it was probably the closest thing to a sword that they could give him. In addition if the sword horn on his head is used as primary weapon he would of had to become a quadrabedal to get on his opponents level and not hurt his neck. Also the beard can be seen as another connection to the samurai. Now why I think he will still be fighting: resemblance to samurai (both 1st and 2nd stage, thumbs for dexerity in fighting, and I want it to be :). I do have a slight doubt now that it is now quadrabedal fighting type. However I assume it will be able to get close combat or superpower; see absol or staraptor.

The grass one was what I expected still saying grass elec of grass flying. I highly doubt poison as it lacks poisons color which gamefreak is pretty consist in types refering to their colors. I would go with grass elec or grass flying. Hopefully since he has no arms he will have low attack allowing gamefreak not to waste their time wasting a starters stat distribution.

As for the fire one I don't see the fighting type. I mean blaziken and infernape were blantantly based on fighting figures (like the water pokemon:)). Where as I see the greek influence in him that others have mentioned. I am not sure what the greek history will imply. On another note; the basic color makes me think fire dark/ ground.

About the whining, I've generally been pretty happy with most the pokemon revealed. Only generation of Pokemon I generally hated, and still do pretty much, is Gen 3.

But upon careful inspection I really do think these are fake. Or really early beta.

Smugleaf: Has legs and arms, as does its confirmed second evo. Final stage does not. IMO, it doesn't make sense for it to suddenly loose its legs and arms in its third stage. I mean, the second stage would have at least shown them atrophying, or getting less pronounced.

Hercules Pig: Main reason here is that it's Fire/ Fighting. Even Game Freak must have been like "Fire/ Fighting again? LOL U SURE?".

Wotter: Just doesn't make any damn sense. I can't think of another starter that is as much WTF as this. All pretty much have a clear theme as to where they're going.

I wasn't referring to you in particular...my post just happened to come after yours.

It's just that, in general, everytime we see a new Pokemon there are several "sky is falling" posts in succession.
So now I just kind of skim over them automatically because they've become so routine and expected.
Furthermore, there's no way one can really reply to them to extend a discussion: "I hate it" is just "I hate it".

As for whether you're allowed to express your opinion or not, that's not my business here.

Tsu's makes total sense since snakes lost their limbs as they evolved irl too. Pig is annoying but you can see it. Mijumaru's is the only one that seems a bit too off for me. Out of every starter so far none have made a change as drastic as that.

personally, I'm really disappointed most of the new pokemon that have been revealed (seriously, mamepato is just a pigeon, swana is just an angrier mother goose, and the majority of the rest of them look like they could be from their very own nickelodeon (sp?) show); however, I'm just way too excited with all the other things they've added to the game- ACTUAL cutscenes? version-specific locations? (i'm not even gonna point out how awesome the different 3d stuff they're putting in)

though I must say- that was a big fail with victini.

They didn't. We're going to have at least 150 new pokémon.

A reliable spanish pokemon site (they gave the info about the names of the new games -Black & White- 8 days before everyone else) called pokexperto says this evos are real, even after the "confession" of the "autor". Pokexperto says they have confirmation about this but don`t want to give any source, so they are receiving a lot of bashing right now in the comments about this notice, but they still insist about this.
And now pokejungle is doubtful about the fakeness of this, and also another spanish site (zonasafari) says this:
"ZonaSafari through a trusted contact resident in the country of the rising sun, can confirm the veracity of the Pokémon revealed in a "suspicious" via 2ch few days ago.
We will not disclose the sources, as that will give problems to our contact. Just believe us."

...Your spoiler made me hate on it a bit less.

Only a bit.

No, I hear you. I agree that that tends to get a bit ridiculous. This fandom in particular is pretty hard to please anyway.

I don't see why everyone is surprised by the grass and water evolution. I mean the fire one we had no idea of. But the grass one is snake and his second evolution's hands didn't grow. This all points to him losing his limbs which makes sense. As I explained for the water one he still maintains a samurai look to him. And the color is the same as the second evolutions thing. And my logic for being on all fours now is one for speed and also the dexeterity of using his horn as a sword(again think samurai).

don't like the grass snake, it's just...meh
water one is ok...I guess
the fire one is m fav by far
I guess it's supposed to be strong though esp with the second form being based on a wrestler and the final form being...well look at it :)

By looking at the pictures we have, I get the feeling these starters are going be huge size-wise. I mean, they all just look gigantic; especially the pig and otter evos.

It honestly still looks like fan art.. for some reason i seriously still doubt it.. although Serebii believes it wholeheartedly, i just cant grasp how the designers would do this with some of the colors and designs. So yeah.. not buying it until i see complete proof.

I'm doing this too.

It ain't over until Bulbapedia posts it.

But if it's true: Alas, I had such high hopes for you, Mijumaru. Alas, Smuglord looks like the only half-decent one of all three.

Hoping that Tsutarja evo is real but AUGHseal and AUGHtroll are fakes.

EDIT: AUGHtroll looks better from the backsprite if the above pic is real. Alright, so I'll call it Pigoron...but WHY THE HECK DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE MIJU'S FINAL EVO A QUADRUPED IF THAT'S REAL GF?

I'm calling fake on that screenshot. The supposed Fire starter's name looks uncannily similar to ミジュマル (Mijumaru); I think the screenshot's been edited, and the creator forgot to change the name. The opposing Pokémon's shadow is dodgy, as well.

EDIT: And the opponent's name appears to be ヤナップ (Yanappu); it seems to be edited from one of the existing screenshots.

EDIT2: Also suspicious is that the Fire starter's Exp. bar is completely empty; if the Pokéxperto guy was really playing the game, chances are that his starter would have somewhat random Exp.

The water final evo looks like a retyped Dialga.

They have the same body type, similar color schemes (dark blue with lighter decorations), that long head, and the fan like tail thing.

What I meant about the Grass starter was that it goes from:

Has legs and arms> Has same legs and arms> No legs or arms

where a more sensible progression would be:

Has legs and arms> has smaller/ less noticeable legs and/ or arms> No legs or arms.

Yeah, you`re right, that image is fake, also in the videos Pokabu have 139 HP at lv.50 ...
