I know gen 2 starters are banashed to the lower tiers for lack of secondary typing. Be it for defensive or offensive purposes.

However didn't another source say it would be water fighting and fire dark

Edit: Pure water lacks the offensive capabilities that mijamaru was shaping up for. And pure grass sucks even on good pokemon. Sceptile case and point

You know, I wish Mijumaru was shaping up to be speedy. We haven't had fast Water starter. We only had confirmation that it "had high Attack". And if the confirmed second form is any indication, it could get pretty fast. That would be a nice change of pace for Water starters.

Meloark is literally the only person saying that the types were fire/fighting, water, and grass. So I would take that information with a grain of salt.

Correct. The Spanish site is also the only site other than 2ch who gave types for the Pokemon.

Serebii doesn't claim who its source is, but given his past behavior, I'm willing to bet he's just trying to appear on an even key with Pokebeach. Like I showed earlier, this happened before with the falsely leaked Shaymin, where Pokebeach and Serebii kept trying to one up each other, making it to where they claimed they had a source.

Pokebeach says he was won over by the spanish website's description of the pokemon covered in junk.

However other than that description he has nothing to go off of, and little reason to believe him. Secondly, the DAY they were released to 2chan the spanish websites reports them as confirmed. There have been NO other reports of insider information before this. Then when you consider the incredibly fake image posted from the webhost via his twitter, the validity of his claims are incredibly questionable, not to mention that the pokemon he allegedly describes to Pokebeach, he was unable to descern the uniform that was clearly a separate piece from the pokemon as being apart of him.

I am pretty much over the starters. However if they do end up being grass water and fire fighting I will not bother using a damn starter. Quite possibly the worst type combinations that they could come up with. I mean in diamond and pearl they put thought into them. And now what?

Yeah, pokabu looks Fire/Fighting, just hope its going to be Fire/Dark, since the final evo looks Darkish (not racist). Yeah, starters should have a unique type that differs them from other pokemon in the region, like Swampert, being the only Water/Ground pokemon in Hoenn (doesnt count quagsire). Just hope the water starter is Water/Fighting, since only Poliwrath is the only one.
