Melkor clarifies that Tabunne is Normal type and Doryuuzu is Ground/Steel type.

Update:
537: A big frog, full with protuberances in head, arms and legs. No more tail. Its very big and has kinda mafia pose. Water/Ground

No, they start as reptiles, evolove into Dinosaurs.

n a side note, Venusaur resembles the mammal-like reptile from the Triassic Period, Kannemeyeria in shape and size.

Sceptile:
Appearance-wise, this Pokémon resembles the dinosaur known as dilophosaurus.

And I don't even need to do the other two, its waay to obvious for them.

NO THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M SAYING.

Its simple
Grass starter repltile every gen
Grass starter evolves into mofo dinosaur every gen
5th gen grass starter base form = reptile
5th gen supposed grass started final form =/= dinosaur

On a lighter note, fire starters are based on the Chinese New Year animals.
Expecting a flame sabertooth tiger starter in Gen VI.

Was there any doubt that Tabunne would be any other type?

I don't know if you noticed it but turtwig, who is a turtle, just evolves in a bigger turtle and not a dinosaur.

from http://pldh.net/home/index

Reshiram, Zekrom, Zoroark and Zorua are all english names...no surprise here .-.
Sorry, but serebii have already announced that. It's no news. It's been out since Reshiram and Zekrom were reveiled in May, on both the japanese and the american sites.

Anyone else who's getting tired of Melkor's descriptions and wants to see the sprites?

Jay Jay is a little past my childhood :P

but yah, apparently the kibago evo is fake...which I'm not surprised since I don't really see dragon in the evo

Edit: ninjad

Well, Kibago doesn't look Dragon-type, and neither does Shelgon for that matter (as a reference for a Stage-1 Dragon-type). Either way, it's fake, but it would've been cool nonetheless.

If the Fire starters are Chinese New Year animals, then WTF is Typhlosion? Cyndaquil is obviously an Enchidna, but that's not on the Chinese New Year, lol.

I think he was going off of "Fire Mouse Pokemon", but that is just the english pokedex title for Cyndiquil.. it is an echidna or porcupine, it isn't a rat. It is an interesting coincidence, I don't think it is a base however.

EDIT: As for Typhlosion, I know my favourite zodiak animal is the flaming badger :P (jk)

Agreed, looks like a honey badger!

Completely random thought: What do you think the special Dreamworld abilities will be and to what extend will GF do this with other pokes? I can think of several that really need new abilities.

The spikes on the side of its head, for one. Its body is also too large for its shell; but it's also more elongated than a tortoise shell.

Um, there are a lot of species of tortoises who have a more elongated shell( one species is even called the elongated tortoise). Also ankylosauriërs don't have a shell so they can't become to large from it, and there are a lot of prehistoric turtles/tortoises known who had spikes on their head and/or where so big that they couldn't fit in their shell.

You know, the silly thing is I checked the new pokemon page just to double check and none of the names were confirmed. Now I go back and Zekrom and Reshiram now both have Us name spots filled

I've been had :u

Ok, so you ignored my other point entirely then just because half my post was incorrect. Excuse me for not classifying prehistoric animals, I was just pointing out why I thought they had a relation. The spikes on the side of its head still remains, along with the mountains on its back resembling the spikes anklyosaurus had on their back.

I always wondered what this thing was. It has wings and it looks huge. Dragonite???

What do you guys think??

Edit: Dragonite has 3 toes, so it has to be a new pokemom. It's not Reshiram or Zekrom either. 3rd legend, perhaps?? BTW, those are ribs, not pincers.

EDIT 2: Looks much too similar to Dragonite. It even has a whole in the head where his horn is.

I don't see the big deal of not having a dino grass type starter. I mean we have a mammalian water type starter it shows GF is mixing it up. And 40/40 review this game is gonna be sweet. And I think a 40/40 that most of the poke will be sweet

I think when Gold/Silver came out, they were expected to be the last game in the series, so I doubt they would've come up with the trend at that point. Someone probably noticed it and suggested it at some point afterwards.
