I really want some of Experto's info to be real, and some to be fake. If I had to pick, I'd go with "fake"... But this thing is kinda awesome:

tbh, don't believe a word of rumours unless they're confirmed.
I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo has a hand in all this anyway...you can't buy this kind of publicity.

That said, the magazine's rumours seem much more likely than anything. Including those fake starter evos.

Is it true that the DSi features of B&W are region-locked?

The use of the games on DSi consoles is region locked. You can play them with normal nonjapanese DS/lite tough. That said, yes, the DSi Features are somewhat regionlocked, more accurately the whole game(for DSi)

@Mastadi Thx for the information. But it honestly doesn´t look like a dragon to me. Tsutaaja, that is. More like a lindwurm, if anything like that.

The thing is, European Dragons are much different from what Smugleaf's supposed evo looks like...

Mehhhhhh. Don't crush my hopes, please.

But maybe they could go the European dragon route with a few snake-like elements and also a few ornaments here and there and...

At first when all this stuff started about the starter evos in the back of my mind it was, Damn i can imagine gamefreak paying people to post of these fakes(some not all) and when we all complain and start waring over it. They go bam look at these awsome starters. Then everyone will be all happy and play the game hmm.

It sucks that I wouldn't be able to play it on my DSi if I imported it. I was going to do it if I got my hands on some money. My DS Phat is Japanese, and it doesn't matter because it wouldn't be region-locked there anyway.

Region-locking is bullshit.

Ken Sugimori, primary illustrator: I really struggled the most with the Water-type [starter] this time.
Yusuke Ohmura, illustrator: There was talk of, "Wouldn't a sea otter be good for the Water starter?" But it was a really close decision in terms of what this sea otter would become once it evolves. In the end, we decided to have it evolve into something with a completely different appearance.

... T_T I wonder what that means...

can someone clear up something for me? does anyone know if emonga is a real pokemon or not? serebii said it was fake, but it's still on their new pokemon page...

The sprite is fake, but the Pokemon itself is real.

... T_T I wonder what that means...

Sugimori: I worried about it for a while, and I eventually went to go see the sea otters at the aquarium. I happened to catch the sea lion show while I was there, and I became aware of the sea lion's power. "Well, let's try blending a sea otter and a sea lion," I thought. I came up with the idea of making the shell on Mijumaru's stomach into a sword (katana) and using it to fight, and that's how I completed Mijumaru and its evolution."

I don't see a shell which looks anything like a katana on it's chest, or for that matter, any shell at all. Sure, it has sort of drill like shell on the top, but it doesn't look anything like a katana and Sugimori mentions it being specificaly on it's chest... so yeah. (That's if that interview is real :P)

Exactly my thinking.
Also explains why the sprites and images are crap/terrible/faked/unrealistic/unpokemonesque and why they've been confirmed.
Also explains the fact that they were leaked during a dry news period.

Those pictures aren't the same page. Firstly, where is the yellow XXXXXXXXXXXXXX border on the top of one of the pictures? Or even the words that were cut off?

I don't trust that translation either since you don't get a combined page with the two (they don't match up).

I'm actually inclined to believe this guy. As much as I want it to be true, it's probably just something knocked up by a 4chan member who wants some recognition.

Ignore this part. Just rehashing old points. Believe what you will.

Just look at that interview please. The two pages don't combine into one.
-----

The fan art for Miju3 is inconsistent with the 'sprite'. His tail cannont carry the helmet and sword.

Well, I am sure the excerpts mention "Water-type", "3-[something]", Mijumaru, Tsutarja and Pokabu being related to China and also have Sugimori talking about them. If only I was fluent in Japanese...

No way in hell the water starter has a sword. Armor of a samurai? Yes, but people already knew the samurai like theme was there when we saw shell blade being used.

Don't see the chinese elements in Pokabu at all. I can imagine however that he will be based on the story that China is most famous for, Journey to the West, reincarnated as a circus opera by Damon Albarn and as an anime (Dragon Ball). If so, then he will become a monk like pig.

I'm currently researching legends about european snakes, but the rather obvious idea of a european dragon is there (and no in the starer evos.

plus they look very gothic, gamefreak NEVER makes gothic pokemon.

well, with the exception of gochiruzeru, but that one could be fake... maybe...

4 chan is having a field with that fact that this may be true and Serebii being Wrong.

I do hope this is true, I cant wait another week :/

I understood it as "well see the stomach shell Mijumaru has? Yeah, once it evolves, it transforms into a KATANA! :D:D:D:D:D".

And that helmet-shell-horn thing could be a katana in the official artwork. I guess. Maybe. Who knows.

The first legend that comes to MY mind is a folklore in Vienna. About the Basilisk(a snake-like creature with the head of a rooster and deadly poisonous breath). I can give you a (german) link: http://www.sagen.at/texte/sagen/oesterreich/wien/vonaltenhaeusern/basilisk.html, if that´s helping you.

Oh how could I forget! That's perfect considering the way the 1st form progresses, its popped collar extending backward (becoming wings) and its feet growing longer. Wasn't Grass/flying rumored some time ago?
