Oh thank god its not true.

Why go through the hassle of incorporating seasons to work every month or so when you could just use an HM? Didn't make anysense.

They could easily have it an HM you obtain late-game, once you've beaten all the gyms and whatnot. That way, you can explore all the places you want and capture all the Pokemon you can without the hassle of waiting a month. Makes perfect sense to me, remember Rock Climb was only available after you've beaten the Elite Four in HGSS (iirc, maybe even later).

dear gamefreak,

stop making so many legendaries. ITS NOT LEGENDARY IF THERE ARE 50 MORE ALSO CALLED LEGENDARY.

thank you.
By virtue of them being called legends and having legends associated with them, they are legends.

The amount of legends does not take away from them being legendary.

Anyway, counting Viktini there appears to only be 13 legends this time, out of 156 Pokemon.
Is that really so bad? I'm always baffled by people complaining about the amount of legends. There aren't that many in the grand scheme of things, they almost always have sidequests associated with them, and that bumps up gameplay time.

But they reduced the time to four months now :P.

Its like making a move to make a week go by so you can catch a Drifloon. Or making a move to turn night to day so you can catch a Murkrow.

Besides, I'd feel bad making the NPCs deal with my whimsical weather fantasies.

Quick summary:

64 pokemon revealed and numbered according to PxP
(victini-cactus)

15 legendary pokemon according to Serebii/PxP
(pseudo legend-space bug)

21 officially revealed pokemon without number order yet

7 pokemon rumored by Hiro/Melkor
(fossils, polar bear, fire bug, fire/ghost, water/ghost)

This brings us to a total of 107 out of 156 new pokemon.

Any corrections?
There are 13 legendaries, not 15.
Fire/Ghost? Are you sure they said that?

I'm with Neato. Legendaries used to seem special, which was in part due to how relatively little their number was. Another reason was because they were all pretty much based on something mystical, legendary, or a piece of folklore (usually Japanese or Chinese). With Gen IV we had the introduction of legendaries like Shaymin and Heatran, who don't really seem to be based on anything, and this IMO kind of cheapens the "legendary" tag. Nothing about them really seems "legendary".

Humanoid Pokemons are ok.
Weapon weilding Pokemons are ok.
Pokemons who ride stuff is probably ok. (I don't think there's one)
But all of them together? I know I'll get used to it but IT IS weird.

What I meant was that Electabuzz is already based on a raijin, at least partly.

If Hiro is right, then where are Zorua and Zoroark?
so would Zorua and Zoroark be #636 and #637?
- No, #570 and #571.

Have they gone through all the numbers by now?

And the pokes are legendary through their region, not just our RL.
No, this is the last twitted:
556: Dancing Cactus Pokémon. It has yellow eyes and spikes, and two pink flowers sprouting from the head. Two arms, no feet. Pure Grass.

Where'd you get the 64 from? We got the first 48 (according to serebii), the 13 types we got just this morning, and a few random ones from everywhere that I'm not really buying yet.

I'm assuming that the numbers also represents rumors from other websites saying how many evos that pokemon has, such as each elemental monkey geting an evo. Megukoro getting 2 evos, etc.

Yes, but the legends in the region mirror the legends in real life. Case in point, Ho-oh, Lugia, the dogs, Kyogre and Groudon etc,. As well, because there are so many legendaries being introduced with each game, it doesn't adequately explain why some Pokemon ARE considered legendary in their regions, like Heatran.

Whats Mew, Lati@s, Zapados, Articuno, and Celebii? I'm probably stupid for asking this.

Mew is the ancient pokemon which was the spring of all life, Latias has no story in the games and anime besides being rare, Zapdos and Articuno are very rare pokemon(in fact most of those RBY legends were just rare) and Celebi is the lord of Ilex forest AND a time traveler.

Zapdos is based on a Thunderbird, a legend of several Native American tribes for one.

I'm really curious about how these Raijin are going to look. I really hope they don't screw up such a good chance to make epic, creative legendary designs, though I want them to look as non-human as possible.

Out of all these amazing new typings, I'm actually most excited about the Dark/Fighting Type, which was one of my most wished-for typings. We all know how amazing the combination is offensively, but now we could have a (hopefully strong) Pokemon with STAB on both!

I like the type announcements for the new legends, all are very interesting. And I really don't have a problem with the amount of them. No one is forcing you to use them, or even catch them.

Jojo got Mew.

Zapdos is based on the north-american Thunderbird, while Articuno is based on the Arabic Anka (a large arctic bird). Latias and Latios have no specific origin, while Celebi, in addition to being what Jojo mentioned, is also based on the Dryad (a 'tree spirit').

Edit: Ninja'd on Zapdos.
