There are just better Pokemon for whichever job Claydol could have. It is like Quagsire: not necessarily bad, but Swampert outclasses Quagsire in almost every aspect.

What are you choosing for? A competitive team? If so, can you list what you already have/need the normal type for?

EDIT: Disregard that, I saw your thread. The question now is, why do you feel a normal type is necessary?

ok so what i have right now is
(sorry if i spell names wrong)
slugma
murkrow
shroomish
lapris
jolteon
and then slaking/ clefable.
i'm still deciding if this is a competitive team.
well i like normal types because they have a broad opportunity to be any type of strategy.

Which tier of Pokemon are you planning on going into? Because you would be better of using Pokemon like Starmie and Heatran instead of Lapras and Slugma (who isn't even fully evolved) as you begin in OU, but elsewhere Jolteon is banned. You also appear to have changed it from your thread. Which team are you using? And where did you get Lapras from?

Is there a program that can check if a pokemon is hacked. you see i got a shiny salamence with perfect IV in the GTS. I just don't want to be banned trading a hacked pokemon without my knowledge that it is hacked.

Thank you

With the vast majority of Player using Pokesav, it might be quite tricky to find out whether it is hacked or not.

1)Check the date on which it was born. Alot of players don't bother to edit that and leave it as 0/0/2000 I think.

2)Check what route it was caught in. If it cannot be caught in that specific location then it is hacked.

Not much else I can tell since most people cover up the obvious signs of a Pokemon being Sav'd/hacked (such as cherish ball on a non event Pokemon).

So my internet is working but everytime I try to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi, my DS claims there is no internet point of access and when I check my server itself, it says it can't connect my home computer, although I still have fully functioning internet otherwise. What is causing this problem and how can I get my Wi-Fi back?

Thanks for the suggestion but the pokemon was hatch in solaceon town and i already checked all other possible means like moveset.

Hey I got a question for ev training. Suppose i kill a starly with my rayquaza and i have a a pokemon holding exp share in my party. The poke also has pokerus. How many evs will it gain ??
Also if i start wih that poke(without exp share) and then switch to ray and kill a starly, how many evs will the pokemon in question gain if it has pokerus ??

2 EVs, both times. So long as a Pokemon gets Exp. for a battle, it will get the standard number of EVs (1, for a Starly). Pokerus always doubles this.

And @ neotype: are you using an actual game cart? Because if you are using an emulator or something like an R4 then there are other ways.

I am using the actual game cart but i own an R4.

Is the roaming Lati@s in HeartGold/SoulSilver restricted from being shiny? I'm trying to RNG a shiny Latias on my HeartGold from the Fan Club, which has that annoying NPC Bayleef that advances the frames without my consent. My attempts so far indicate that it jumps either 7 or 8 frames when I exit the building, but the weird thing is that it looks like it jumps 7 frames while 8 frames away (leaving me one frame short of my target) or jumps 8 frames when when 7 frames away (putting me one frame ahead).

I can't help feeling that the game might be making sure it avoids that specific shiny frame, so if anyone knows the answer to this question I'd very much appreciate it...

No, I'm sure that it wouldn't. Is there any reason you can't advance the frame outside? (If this doesn't make sense, my experience with RNG is limited, so ignore it. However, from what I understand, you can definitely get a shiny Lati@s there.)

I am using the actual game cart but i own an R4.

No, for the legit checker to work, you need to have the Pokemon on the R4, so don't worry.

Not sure where to post this, so just bringing to attention an accident of sorts I experienced.

UNION ROOM CLONING

I own two DS units, one each of D/P/HG/SS, and two Platinum.

So I was sending stuff for Pokedex reasons between Diamond version and Pearl version when the cat did a cat thing and berserked from my bedroom window to run out of my room, knocking the DS from bed to floor. Picked it back up but the Pearl had been ejected from the drop, disrupting communications. So I go to boot up Pearl but there was an Infernape STILL in party that I was to trade TO GET a Heatran for more convenient data. Diamond did not have Heatran. In Heatran's place was a second Infernape. Curious, I tried for several hours to dupe a few other things. Some success, lots of not. One good thing is that eggs can be cloned, heh heh. Another good thing is I cloned a Hayley Mew and Almia Darkrai for a girl. Shame its one at a time and freakin' slow.

Anyhoo, Diamond and Pearl have had their save files corrupted from this. Not sure if Union method works with Platinum, HG, SS.

Again, DATA will be CORRUPTED.
And if you have to cheat/clone, why are you even...

Will any move that does physical damage always make contact? For example will Earthquake activate static or rough skin? Or does Icicle Spear activate those abilities?

Not always, certain Physical moves such as Earthquake and Rock Slide will not activate Static/Rough Skin/Flame Body. I guess think about it this way, if the move actually physically touches the opponent (for example Ice punch involves the users making contact with the opponent physically) then it causes those abilities.

Well, the Lati is released as soon as you exit the Fan Club after taking the lost doll, but there's an NPC's Bayleef that runs around its trainer inside which advances the frame continuously, so you have to save right before exiting the Fan Club and do the RNGing with that frame advancement into account.

In the end, I decided to RNG the Latias using the Elite Four respawn method. I was hesitant to do it at first since I only had one roamer (Entei) to verify my seed right before fighting Lance, but I got it on my first try!

Thanks for responding by the way.

So I'm a little confused, and I'm hoping maybe someone can help me out.

I've been busy all week, so I haven't been on Pokemon Online since Monday. I was laddering with my NU Sandstorm team, and all was good.

I tried to sign on today, but it's telling me the same team that was fine for NU on Monday is now UU because Regirock isn't legal in NU? I checked the Smogon tier lists, and it definitely still says it's NU.

So basically, can someone explain wtf happened between now and Monday? >_<

Thanks in advance.
