Just finished my DW run for tonight. The amount of forest runs you get seems completely random, as I was at the end of my fifth today and was still finding pokemon. Ended up encountering 19 Pokemon altogether (I quit the mini game on the last). The one minute warning came up and I didn't even have time to get to the tree and pick a pokemon. Kind of angry about that. The warning should be at 5 mins til, not 1. Nothing special, although garnered a nice amount of data and DW points.
I'm 99% sure the same pokemon always challenges you to the same mini-game everytime, however all the different hide-and-seek games count as one mini-game, as Lickitung has challenged me to this game in the forest and sky. Seems like scoring high on a mini-game doesn't always net you a rare move, nor does scoring low always give you a lame one. Here's an example:
Score -- Lickitung's Move
49500 -- Sleep Talk
38500 -- Lick
20000 -- Sleep Talk
11000 -- Lick
Sleep Talk is an Egg Move and a Gen IV TM, Lick comes on Lickitung at Lv.1. I've got some more examples of how random it is, though I will say that the score does seem to have an effect on it. Maybe secondary goals have something to do with it? Finding the berry in the hide and seek game gives you the special move? Just an idea. It affects score, but it not required to get a high score, so it's the only thing that makes sense, other than randomness.
I'm hoping to find some kind of connection between the type of pokemon you put to sleep and the ones you run into. I used the event Croagunk today and only 3 of the 18 I encountered today weren't of a type that is weak to Poison or Fighting (some of the 15 were combinations that that aren't weak to them). The problem is, most of the pokemon in the forest are normal and grass pokemon, so this could be a complete coincidence, especially since I used Lotad last night and only ran into one Ponyta and absolutely no water pokemon. Need some more data I guess, ^^.
BTW, anyone know what the Deru balls are for?
