Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

It was more her work than anyone else's, so it really belonged to her. And if she is leaving Smogon, then she did not have to continue to allow indefinite access to her programme. Although I agree that someone should probably have noticed that there would be trouble in the weeks and weeks they spent developing it.
Right, but if you're leaving Smogon, what on earth do you need to hoard a pokemon simulator for? It doesn't really make much sense frankly. Also wasn't it open source?

Also what even constitutes "leaving Smogon", what happened that made her do that? I mean if its just that real life happened, then that's great, but what does that have to do with people using pokemon lab?

It frankly doesn't make sense.

Venomoth w/ Tinted Lens seems like he can do Battle Hall fine, running the Life Orb set we have here at Smogon. Thoughts about Venomoth and the dudes I mentioned previously?

RNG question

the prerequisets are to:

1. Show togepi to elm
2. get pokerus and visit the center with it
3. enter kanto post elite 4
4. kill roamers

now on my platinum my center didnt acknowledge pokerus. whats wrong with that???

Also do i kill roamers before elite 4? I just beat the 8th gym in HG. SO far havnt run into entei or raikou (assuming suicune isnt a roamer). What are the roamers I need to kill? This is for HG btw. As for platinum, does it matter if the roamers were caught? PMs ARE WELCOME!!!

I'm trying to create my own Pokemon set for a rain dance team. Since I'm always a big fan of your articles and SmogonDex. I saw the movesets and the EV spread, and I would like to ask how you came up with the EV spreads you have for each pokemon for the meta game.

How did you decide on the nature?

So how were you able to calculate the right EVs for that certain pokemon? I was going to ask about a Roserade for a Rain Dance Team, but I need to decide whether to use it as a Modest or Calm Nature, and pick out EVs for it, but I don't know where to ask it.

The specific EVs for a set depend on other Pokemon in the metagame. For instance when adjusting Speed Evs for a Pokemon, what threats do you need to outspeed.

Roserade weather analysis. Check it out, it is still in quality control so I would advise using the same EVs and nature but change the moveset to:

[SET]
move 1: Rain Dance
move 2: Leaf Storm / Grass Knot
move 3: Weather Ball / Rest
move 4: Sleep Powder

Sorry, but what is PO? And what's the link?

Pokemon Online link.

PokemonOnline is a battle simulator similar to the popular Shoddy Battle, incase you have never used a simulator before then it is quiet similar to Wifi battling, only faster and you make your own team, choose your own EVs moves etc.

Actually, a lot of it is just working it out. For instance, lead Machamp often is up against Lead Azelf, and so it is given just enough EVs to withstand Azelf's Psychic and KO back. Then it is given maximum attack, and the rest go into defence, to make it more bulky. So basically, you look for specific threats you want to KO or survive, and then EV and nature accordingly.

EDIT: ninja'd

That Article inspired me to make a Rain Dance team, as well as make my own Roserade set.

It's a combination between Spikes Support, Sweeping, and Grass Type check, and yet want to see if it's possible to have a Spikes, Weather Ball, HP Ice, and Grass Knot.

Also, if this set could be used in a rain dance team, why have weather ball slashed with Sludge bomb? If you don't mind me asking. Wouldn't Weather Ball greatly benefit from the Rain?

EDIT - Is there any way to alter a Hidden Power Type in Pokemon Online? Like a way to alter IVs

yes under your sprite go to advanced and then on the side window at the top is your option to change hp andbelow ivs

Just wondering why isn't there a standard Rock Polish set for Donphan? It has the Attack stat to do damage and it more than often causes switches. Also, with neutral speed nature maxed at 199, it can reach speeds of almost 400 outpacing many threats.

tl;dr: It is generally outclassed by Rhyperior for Rock Polishing.
Long: It is better at just spinning and SRing, mainly because it is possibly the best in UU for that support roll. I think if you are lookingat boosting sweepers like RP Donphan, you would want another Donphan to do the support thing, so you are better of using another sweeper, like Rhyperior.

Oh right, completely forgot about Rhyperior. Derp.
Makes sense now, apart from surprise factor it doesn't have any advantages then. Cheers for the answer

I'm in trouble. In SoulSilver, I want to start RNGing, since I've done it quite a bit in Platinum. Problem : I can't use the Elm Calls method because I have not braught the hatched egg back to him. In fact the egg is lost : I believe I sent it on another cartridge and restarted the game.
So now, even thaugh I have finished the game, when I call Elm, all he does is ask me about the egg, and I can't use his answer to find my seed. What could I do?? What egg could I show him?

(This might belong in 'all generation prng help' but it's more of an in-game question really)

And Aggron 100% outclasses RP Rhyperior.

@ Dracolosse: I think you can just use any Togepi and show him that. People run into this problem a bit. Get one off wifi or something.

@ Unholy Confessions: I suppose, although I just like Rhyperior. He's cool. And that makes him better. So there. :)

Rhyperior is great, but trying to be speedy isn't his strong point. Even going Jolly, lots of stuff still outspeeds him (after Rock Polish).

Choice Band/SubPerior are good sets for Rhyperior.

Anyone know where I can find a timeline thing of when all the new Ubers were added and removed for Gen 4? (Latias, Salamence, Chomp, Shaymin-S, Deoxys-S)

what can OHKO standard lead machamp? it would be useful to know if there are any leads that can do so.

Life Orb Gallade springs to mind with STAB Zen Headbutt. Azelf may be able to do so with some specialization. Nothing else can OHKO Machamp with practical methods.

off the top of my head:

LO Gallade with Zen Headbutt
LO Heatran with Overheat
LO Crobat with Brave Bird
LO Azelf with Psychic
Azelf with Colbur Berry can survive Payback + Bullet Punch and 2HKO with Psychic

granted some of them are a bit specialised
