Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Thanks for that. Is there a complete guide for this? Can you tell me if what I'm doing is wrong.. I'm trying it out on a random Pokemon in the wild.

1. I looked for a seed with a frame of 10 on method K with synch

2. Have its delay at 1395 and my RNG Reporter Settings are..
a. Seed - e208057d
b. Year - 2010
c. Seconds - 50
d. HG/SS marked
e. No roamers

3. Pikatimer settings..
a. Calibrated Delay - 480
b. Wanted Delay - 1395
c. Calibrated Second 14
b. Wanted Second 50

4. I don't know what to do next after I hit my delay.

Id like to ask to ask something about the RNG for HG/SS roaming legendaries post-E4. The only method to verify the seed is through the roamer method right? So only the route of the roamer can be identified but the elm call responses and whatnot cannot be, correct? So id like to ask, is RNG'ing the legendary dogs only easier when they are inside the burned tower, or even on post-e4, since there are many seeds which contain the route where the other roamer on my cart is, and i only have 2 roamers left, im trying to rng raikou, entei is on route 34, and latios is caught.

You can still have the elm responses defined through RNG Reporter. You can't catch legendary dogs as they are forever roamers, excluding Suicune. You might want to kill off Entei before trying to RNG Raikou, to avoid frame advancements, though Raikou would still advance your frame, if I'm not mistaken, by 1.

Hey Musica, Does something trouble you?

yes thank you. What do you mean by "You can't catch legendary dogs as they are forever roamers"? So i can't confirm elm responses inside E4.

Gah. This will be troublesome if I release them via E4 again. I was hoping they would be easier. Would roamers leave the route if your restarted the game even if save on that route?

I honest don't know. All I know is.. is that once the legendary dogs leave the burned tower, the iv set and nature they get will stay the same after leaving the tower. So even though restart after saving in the route where you want to meet them, their iv sets and nature stay the same.

Unless if you save before you make leave from the burned tower.

But.... I could be wrong. So I don't know for sure.

@Musica

Once you knock out the roamers, they will stop roaming. But if you beat the E4 again, they will be re-released, with a new PID (and so new IVs and Nature).

Read the article Mackenzie mentioned (on the first page of this thread) which will tell how to RNG them from there.

huh, but how about this?
"RELIABLY RNG-ABUSING THE HGSS ROAMERS POST-ELITE FOUR"

Nice. I'd probably read that. Thanks for finding the thread. I got mistaken of thinking that they didn't have fixed PID's when you released them in burned tower.

So they do get a different set of PID's when they get released again. Thanks for clearing up the confusion I got. Btw, could you give me a link for it? I can't seem to find it.

Ok, I know how to RNG stationary legends in HG/SS but I really want to RNG a certain Heatran in Pt and I am just now picking up how to do that. I watched Bearsfan92's video for it and the only question I have before I start is this...

When journal flipping, let's assume that the very last thing I did was catch two separate Pokemon and then save. Then I start the RNG process and hit my delay. Once this is done and I go to the journal and the first page pops up...does that first page popping up count as a journal flip? Or do I actually have to flip to the next page to get it to count?

tomorrow I will attempt the impossible and attempt to RNG my first pokemon...ZAPDOS!!! wish me luck

PS this is a good spread for a zapdos right? 30 / 15 / 30 / 31 / 31 / 31. (HP Ice 70)

Best of luck to you! And yes, that is a good spread. I believe HP Ice and HP Grass are the two good ones for Zapdos.

I just finished RNGing 31/31/31/0/31/31 (HP, Atk, Def, SpA, SpD, Spe) Jolly Ho-oh and Jolly Groudon. I couldn't catch Ho-oh in the Luxury Ball, but Repeat Ball worked perfectly (looks good for him as well). However, I caught Groudon with the third Luxury Ball, oddly enough. :l

Ok, I'm trying to consider whether I should continue RNG in D/P or move on to HG/SS.

If I am already pretty far in RNG in D/P (Up to hitting my seed in IV RNG), is it worth my while to change to HG/SS? Is it easier to hit your seed or is it the same?

I assume you mean breeding IVs. It is easier in HG/SS due to there only being one NPC.

As far as hitting the seed goes, I believe it's the same. It's the frame advancement that becomes the problem.

Ok.... My game decided it wanted to be a retard today so here's my problem... I go to RNG my egg's IVs... and my time that I am supposed to be using is 1:01. I'm trying to hit 50 seconds. Now, when I'm using my correct time (1:01) I'm getting 49 seconds... so I use 1:02 now so that I get 50 seconds. But, when I use 1:02 I get 51 seconds (and usually my delay that I'm trying to hit >.<). So now I go back to 1:01, and still get 49 seconds... is there a way to fix this, or is it just user error and I need to keep trying?

EDIT: Nevermind! It doesnt matter now because I just hit my correct time and delay... must have just been user error >.>

This exact same thing happened to me earlier. Someone suggested I change the minute of the time you set the DS back or forward depending on whether your hitting a second over or before you target second. Of course I ended up hitting the right second as I was waiting for the answer. I'm guessing it's just human error. I know how annoying it can be though.

I say go to HGSS. Being able to keep track of your frames the way you can in HGSS is awesome. And breeding is a BREEZE as well. And if your worried about hatch locations just use the ID/SID from your DPPt games and hatch it there :)

Because we all know HGSS doesn't have that many decent hatch locations :P

This is because pikatimer aims for the exact target second instead of giving room for error. That's one of the annoyances I was fixing when I made mine.
