Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

This is because pikatimer aims for the exact target second instead of giving room for error. That's one of the annoyances I was fixing when I made mine.

This is also the reason why I began using Toast's timer as well.

On a side note, I just RNG'd a Timid hexflawless Suicune. Not only did I hit the seed in 5 minutes (third try), I also caught it in a Dive Ball without too much hassle (perhaps 10 Dive Balls until the capture).

Now, if only I could catch that Adamant/Jolly Ho-oh in a Luxury Ball. Of which, brings me to my question.

Is catch rate affected by the level of legends? Let's say I'm playing HG and Ho-oh is 45. Would it be any easier to catch him as 45 as opposed to him being 70 in SS?

Just to verify my target frame for Registeel is 19 I have Mesprit roaming. In turn the number of advancements would equal: 19 - 1 - 1 = 17

Does this mean I need to do 8 flips to get to frame 16 and then just talk to regi to advance the final two?

You need to do 17 advancements, so you should take 128 steps with 5 pokemon in your party (5 advancements), and 6 journal flips (12 advancements).

Another question. What Method are Sweet Scented Pokemon on Emerald?

I'm taking a crack learning it finally...hopefully I get it O_o...

im trying to rng is ss. after i catch a high level pokemon and enter the stats into the rng reporter, what do I do? (for shiny eggs)

that's only calibrating... you can't do the old shenanigans of happiness flips off of an initial seed like in DPPt.

You have to hit seeds, get your calibrated delay to use with timers.

So I'm using the OLD VERSION of PokeRNg to look for Emerald spreads and I find some for Method 1 but it's giving me a seed that I have no idea how to land on? I thought the seed was always the same...what am I missing here?

2050222063F 30742070 (CAREFUL, ability 0) 31/31/31/30/31/31 (Seed: a00802d4 Frame: 255) HP ELECTRIC 70

That was one of the results I got. I'm assuming the first string of numbers is the PID? Hope someone can guide me in the right direction.

Don't worry about the seed, emeralds seed is always 0. This is the frame 2050222063F the next bit is the PID. The seed is for 4th gen games so don't worry about that part :P. 2 billion is a really high frame and will take more than a month to get to even if you leave your pc on 24/7.

HOLY F%$KING S#@T!!! So the first bit is the frame and the second bit is the PID. I'm guessing that's in HEX correct? So I'm going to search for a LOWER frame but when I do find a better one all I need to look at is the first bit of the results and pretty much aim for that number correct?

Thanks again for your help :)

Yes that is correct :). Good luck

Just a very quick question, are you using a DS or a DSi for RNG?
Now to your question. I assume that you already know the Initial Calibration Phase since you said that you caught a high level poke, and entered the stats/nature/level/characteristic into the RNG Reporter.

This step is essential to know what type of delay your game cartridge generates. These 2 types of delay can be classified as EVEN or ODD (like what you learned in school; even : numbers ending in 2,4,6,8,0 and odd : numbers ending in 1,3,5,7,9.). There are ways to change your delays from even to odd and vice-versa (this will be discussed later). Now, you should find the Time Finder sub-program under the Seed Finder option. Choose Shiny Egg tab. Now there are things that you should know when you want a Shiny Egg; your Trainer ID and your SID. (SID = Secret ID)
*If you followed these steps, send me a VM and I can help you with the next processes.

@ Ragnar;

Catch rate is not affected by the level, however it is affected by the percentage of HP they have. Since at level 70 Ho-oh will have higher HP overall, if you can get it down to 1HP (False Swipe), then the percentage will be lower, and so it will be (slightly) easier to catch.
If you were using a Level ball then obviously it would affect catch rate.

What are you trying to capture\hatch? Anything shiny with a monster frame 2, J method. Just to see if I can actually get this to work.
What is your target seed and frame? 312025b Frame = 8
What is the delay of that seed?
593

How did you verify your seed? Coin Flips HTHHTHHTHT
Seed was supposed to provide... TTTTTHHTTH
I cant seem to hit the seed, regardless of the delay Im trying to hit. I used the seed finder 20-30 times and got a 14-15 second delay every single time. Was about a 50/50 split between 14 seconds and 15 seconds.

If you tried and failed, what results did you get? I cant seem to find the pokemon Im supposed to have. I checked it's IVs and generated a list for the seed I had. I didnt find the IVs anywhere in the list. Been through this 4-5 times now. Am I just hitting the wrong seed/delay? I've been at this for a couple days and cant seem to hit a single success.

Edit: Im actually trying to get a naive magnemite with steel trapping and a strong hidden power ice with decent IVs in SpA and Spe. the Hidden Power is my biggest concern as Im currently able to breed the rest.

I'm having an issue getting a flawless shiny Miltank in HG/SS (RNG breeding). I've got the shininess and I'm now saved in front of the Daycare Man, I'm using a flawless Bibarel with Curse which I'm breeding with a random Miltank. My delay is 503 which I have hit and received the Elm calls 1 before the intended frame (which is 9 by the way). I then on the 8th frame exited the Pokégear and received the egg as fast as I could and hatched. Yes it's shiny with the intended nature and ability, but the IVs have been continually incorrect. It's happened three times too! Anyone know why this may be and/or got a solution to my problem?

Thanks.

Use the ivs to see which frame you actually hit and adjust accordingly.

That's happened to me before too. It's due to the mover on Rt. 34. Even if you hit X and A almost simultaneously, the game calculates how fast he is supposed to move into that time delay. My only solution is to save in front of the guy again in order to counteract this (because his timer for rotation continues thru save states. Hope that helps!

Ah, I checked my IVs and landed on frame 11. :/ Though RBG, I'm not really sure what you mean by the "movers" on Route 34. Could you please explain?

Thanks for the answers!

Yeah, you don't necessarily start the game on frame 1 for whatever reason. NPC is what I hear, but that doesn't really explain the occasional multiple frame advances...
Anyway, just check your frame by looking at what response you got first. Seems to work for me.

Alright so I'm attempting to RNG breed on Emerald but when I try to calculate my IVs to see what frame my save state is on I'm finding the spread with the "Breeding (Emerald Alternative)" method. Is that what I'm supposed to be aiming for? These are the options:

Breeding (Emerald No Splits)
Breeding (Emerald Splits)
Breeding (Emerald Alternative)

So far I've done it twice to see what frame my save state is on and both times it's been on the Emerald Alternatice method. So I want to clarify that this is the method I should be using when RNG BReeding on emerald? and if so what do the other two stand for?

Hey guys. I'm trying to RNG a regular Wild Pokemon (in grass). Whenever I input my desired stuff etc. and even with bearsfan's video (I used same parameters, starting with my calibrated delay and up to 2500) I keep getting zero results, in both JavaRNG and RNG Reporter.

Are you looking for shinies?
Only certain PIDs appear shiny with a particular ID/SID combo.

So if say you're looking for Timid - 31/31/31/31/31/31 as your spread, unless you've specifically RNG'd for an appropriate ID/SID, then there's pretty much no chance that you'll get it.
Untick shiny, and if you get results, it was just that, if you still get no results, then I can't help.

Alright...I probably have a semi basic question but here it goes. I am now learning to RNG for Platinum ( I am already very good at RNGing for HG/SS) and I am curious as to what to do when you have an even frame. I am going for Heatran and I have no roamers out right now.

The frame is 660.
So I should subtract one and divide by 2 but that leaves one more frame left over. What do I do to advance the frame one more time?

You will need to have an odd number of pokemon in your party (5 works best) and take 128 steps. That will advance the frame 5 times, and you should be able to make the rest of the advancements through journal flips.
