Something has been bothering me to the point it makes me laugh.
Earth Power and Dark pulse are both egg moves but because of Sazandora's exclusive egg group, how is he able to learn them?

It can't learn both at the same time.

However, you can teach Earth Power via Move Tutor to a Gible, then transfer it over, so that Sazandora can get Earth Power as a Egg Move.

For Dark Pulse, you teach the TM to Ekans or Seviper, then transfer it over for Dark Pulse as an Egg Move.

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up.

Sazandora has been really let down by its speed. 98 means that it will be outsped by Garchomp, Salamence and the rest of the base 100's. Instead of trolling at 102 like 'chomp, its getting trolled.

^Its speed is a let-down, but it is often irrelevant. Sazandora's job is to come in either after something dies or after a u-turn (or on one of it's many immunities/resists provided the opposition is slower, choiced or unable to 2hko) and use draco meteor, which is basically a ohko move on this thing. It learns earth power and fire blast for steels, and u-turn for stuff like blissey.

Its real downside is not its speed but its competition with the blue Lati. Sazandora's saving grace is its arguably wider coverage and better typing which could easily be more synergistic with your team. Also it resists pursuit as opposed to being slaughtered by it.

I love STAB so i've been using dark pulse, but the coverage is redundant alongside dragon type attacks, and I found that replacing it with earth power is much more beneficial for pesky heatrans. Draco Meteor slaughters every psychic and ghost anyway except for the rare cresselia.

I've found that Wish Vappy is a great partner to help it get in and heal up, as Sazandora resists both grass and electric, although Thunder is much more common this gen due to rain and compoundeyes Denchura and Sazandora doesn't like paralysis that much.

Speed isn't a terrible let down. I've been using LO Earthpower/fire blast/dragon pulse/u-turn, and it's been working fine. The fact that it is outsped by its fellow dragons besides SD ononokusu can be easily solved by slaping a scarfgon on your team, but make sure to switch to another pokemon to lure a different attack first.

Why not just use Scarf Sazandora? He's better at everything besides checking DDMence. It's not a huge loss, since counting on a Speed tie is a pretty shitty last resort sort of way of dealing with it. Even ScarfChomp is better, Uturn be damned.

:/

about scarf Sazandora:
Scarf=revenge killer.
Flygon=revenge killer.
Sazndora=special sweeper.
Flygon, in my opinion, is better at revenge killing.
It really ticks me off when someone calls a choiced pokemon a "sweeper."

With that special attack and access to STAB Dragon moves, along with its excellent speed with a scarf, it can function very well as a late-game cleaner with Dragon Pulse/Dark Pulse. It can fit the role of sweeper, it's just less suited to it than a Life Orb set.

yes, but sweeping with a choice item, especially choice scarf? I have trouble with even Life orb dragon pulse. choice specs might be different, however...

I tried Sazandora for a bit, but with Robushin and Lucario and Infernape everywhere, a fighting-weak Dragon is nothing but fodder.

Let's talk about a little thing called switching.

Two of the pokes you listed are OHKOd by Draco Meteor and Lucario is OHKOd by Fire Blast, which means that none of them can switch in.

And if one comes in on you after you kill something, why would you stay in? Everything is fodder if you willingly sacrifice it for no reason.

If that weren't enough, it learns U-Turn.

Yeah...
I use LO
-dragon pulse
-earth power
-fire blast
- u-turn

The only danger sazandora would be in from lucario is extremspeed, an it can take that, besides agility variants.

Or Vacuum Wave which is stronger than E-speed on Lucario.

I am pretty sure that "Techniloom" can OHKO with Mach Punch after rocks.

I KNOW Roobushin OHKOs with Drain Punch and I also know that none of those moves will OHKO him first.

Yes he can switch, especially with the number of usable ghosts right now to back him up. But, I would think that any of those fighting types would be enough to scare him out.

Draco Meteor KOs roobushin, and it's the main attacking option. Actually I think the LO Pulse does too if I remember correctly, but I switched to specsdora early in my testing.

Anyway, in order for Roobushin to get in unscathed, Sazandora probably has already killed something. Then it will just switch to a counter and come back later to kill something else.

In summary, the only thing that forcing Dora out does is recharge Draco Meteor. This is one of the few reasons why sazan isn't entirely outclassed by the latis: it isn't ravaged by pursuit.

Another thing i'd like to mention is that i've quit Earth Power on this thing. The only thing it's good for is hitting heatran which is always floating on a dang-nabbed balloon. Surf has been more successful.

From my experience Sazandora is always OHKOed by Life Orb TechniLoom with or without SR. In fact, I believe that LO TechniLoom OHKOs Nattorie with Mach Punch after a Swords Dance. This guy puts a real downer on any sweeper that's weak to fighting, like Sazandora.

Scarf Sazando is really inferior in every way to scarf Flygon or Garchomp, as his just under base 100 speed keeps him from catching a DD Mence or any other base 100 scarfers, of which there are many

Sazandora is basically the Sp. Att version of Scarf Flygon, but since he's much stronger overall, bulkier, and doesn't have to be conservative with his haymakers, he's actually better. Garchomp, of course, doesn't have 125 base Sp. Att.

If you're depending on your token Scarfer to check other Scarfers or DD Mence, then you're doing it wrong and need to find some real counters for those Pokemon.

The purpose of scarfers is to outspeed, but Sazando misses a very important speed tier by just a few points, making him a less useful Flygon

The purpose of Scarfers is not to outspeed vague, unspecified threats, but to check sweepers. Sazandora checks most non-Scarfed sweepers, anything with a Scarf and can't hurt him (oh hey Scarfchomp locked into EQ), and can keep momentum going with U-turn. In addition to that, he's actually fairly powerful and can hurt even defensive Pokemon, unlike Flygon. The only thing Flygon can realistically do better is hope to win a Speed tie with DDMence locked into Outrage.
