Chubbs, do me a favor, and stop commenting on everyone's work while yours isn't the best either. It's kinda painful to read, actually.

Not implying I'm a great artist or spriter or whatever myself, but just sayin'.

It's constructive criticism, not saying he/she is the best spriter ever. O_o

The transition between the bushes and the body looks a bit odd imo, but it's good.

Well, I know it is meant as constructive criticism, but actually it looks more like breaking down to me :/

''What on earth have you done man?'' ''...as right now it looks weird'' ''Other than that not bad for a beginner.''

I mean, the idea behind it is good, but it sounds kind of rude :/

Dude, what are you talking about? I very much appreciate his/her advice. Sometimes criticism can be rough, but those comments are all light-hearted.

@CHubbs: Thanks, I'll go fix those things.

Wtf man, I never fucking said I was a better spriter than anyone else here. And I would like to see some of your work then, Mr. Im so 1337 at spriting that no one else is allowed to comment on others sprites.

Here's my first attempt at a disguise, what do you think?
Magikarp as Feebas.

Not bad, im not sure if you edited the outline or not as im not familiar with the 5th gen sprites so I dont know if you recoloured one of them or not. Either way, it looks good.

charzaro
I love this Rotom-mons :D
I wanna try them but they'll probably suck (even though I have an idea of how to do it).

He's just outlining them with the plasma aura thing in regard to their type (he used Rotom-H for the Char line) and putting rotom's eye over theirs. Its not that hard.
And on a completely unrelated topic, here's an old revamp I did awhile back (I actually just changed the non-black parts and some of the black parts which is what i was taught):

Rotom mons do look good, but I think the eye looks a bit weird. Rotom's eyes just aren't recognisable enough. Maybe Gengar or something?

And Scyther looks good.

@Everyone: They're not hard, they just look epic. I like Rotom's eyes because they make the pokes look empty and possessed.

Lanturn looks cool. The only thing is the right 'ear', which is not pointing the same direction as the left ear, which makes it look strange, as if there is inconsistant wind.

I am in the process of writing up a RMT for my first 5th Gen team. I noticed most of my images are just Standard sprites, and I was wondering if any artist wants to work with me to spruce up my images and make my RMT look very presentable. Post here or PM me if you are interested. Thanks!

@ RitterCat - Hmm, well, the Lanturn retype is alright, but the fire would probably look better if you scratched it.

@ Homeslice - I think that the Lugia is rather good, but the problem is that some of the shading on the outline looks a bit off like on the oulines that are in shadow being the lighter outline shade instead of the darker one or black, like on the B/W sprite that you should be mimicking. You should also consider using darker shades of outline on the bits of the sprite where one part passes in front of another, as it makes the sprite look much more defined rather than looking kind of blurred.

I wont pass comment on the Scyther as you made it a while ago and it is not a reflection of your current skill level.

@ Bynine - The smaller one looks good, the only thing I would do to it is perhaps make a highlight shade and put a slight amount of it on the bit of the sprite that is getting the most light, on this case im guessing just above the moouth is where you would want to put it; however, I dont think it is necesarry to do so as the sprite looks like the sort of thing that you would find in a Pokemon game already without any of the stuff I suggested being applied. All in all it is a good sprite and one of the better ones I have seen come out of either this thread or the previous one.

However, the larger, evolved one I dont like as much, probably because you coloured the head completely black for the shadows, something that is not a good idea because you lose most of the outline on the back of the head. I would suggest perhaps a dark blue/ purple or maybe even a brown. However, if you would still like for the head to be black use a colour like RGB#303030, RGB#404040 or RGB#505050 for the shadows; you could make it a bit darker though dont go overboard with it. I think that the head could use a highlight shade though, making it look much more rounded without smoothing the outline. Finally, I noticed that one of the spikes on the head is not casting a shadow on the body and looks a bit weird (its the left most spike on our left that overlaps with the body). The only other issue I can see with it is the eyes, more specifically the one on our right looks a tad odd and could use with being made more rounded as currently it looks like somethings torn a hole in its head; of course if it was intended then keep it like that but I though I would point it out. I also think that you forgot to give the eyes any pupils, again, if it was intended then I guess that you should keep them. On the whole though they are very good though.

@ RitterCat - Hmm, well, the Lanturn retype is alright, but the fire would probably look better if you scratched it.

Uh... u serious? I'm fairly new at spriting, posting one of my first posts in the thread and I'm expected to be able to scratch fire? I could probably barely scratch an Electrode, and I wouldn't have the first idea how to scratch fire. Anyway, what possible difference would it make? Why scratch fire when you have some readily supplied by the official Pokemon spriting team that would look just as good. Now I'm not implying that you think you're a better spriter than everyone else or that I am a better spriter than everyone else (hell I'm crap) but I just want you to think clearly about what you criticize instead of criticizing for criticizing's sake. I was gonna occasionally post some sprites I was proud of, sprites I'd worked hard on, but now I mightn't bother if there is someone out there being nitpicky just to be nitpicky. People could be nitpicky about your sprites if they wanted to but they choose not to as they're good sprites that might just have some slight problems. They could, but choose not to, whereas you seem to need to find fault about everything posted here. Don't get me wrong, I liek your work, you're probably a nce guy/gal just sometimes you do get on my nerves

Sorry, I didn't read the bit about that =/. I'll remember to read full posts next time, not just look at the sprites. Its very good for a first sprite too.
