How do you hit an even frame on Platinum when you're trying to rng abuse a Regice?

I knew that you could try inserting a 3rd Gen cartridge into your DS for D/P but I haven't done that for Pt yet so you might wanna check that, another method is changing the Year of your DS 1 forward or backward depending on the seed if I remember correctly, but you will have to use another Date for your seed, etc, etc.

Ummmmm..... Zero, I believe that works for the "Delays". Not the "Frames". =/

If you're going for even frame, the easiest way I can think of without stepping outside of Regice's cave is walking 128 steps. Since you can't find any other pokemon in that cave, walking 128 steps with an odd number of pokes in your party advances the frame by whatever number of pokemon are in the party at the time (5 pokes + 128 steps = 5 frames).

Oh yeah sorry :P, the way I do it is just walking 128 steps with 1 or 3 pokes once, then I just advance the frame with the journal substracting the odd number I got
like 200-3=197 so 196/2=98 and then encountering Regice :)

Thank you, Shii.

Thanks, Zero.

I've been trying to RNG a Latios in HG to no sucess. I have to hit a delay of 2176 so I've been using pikatimer but no matter what I try, I'm not even near to hit the bloody delay.

On RNG reporter I put on adjacent results 99-99 and 5 seconds just in case and not once have the phone calls given me a match...

I'm getting kinda frustrated so I'd like to know if there any tips you guys use to make it work (can't adjust delay since RNG does not give an adjacent result) or anything, really...

Have you RNG'd before?
What is your calibrated delay/second?
Are you sure you're doing the "minutes before"?
Check your date?

Download RNG Reporter 8.41. It has a larger delay range.
To be honest, you shouldn't need the +/- 5 seconds. You can knock it down to 1.

If you are aiming for higher delays I suggest you to take a look at what delay you are actually hitting (with pikatimer), so in order to do that, just do whatever you were doing when trying to hit your delay, after you entered the world catch a pokèmon and then check it's IVs then go to your RNG reporter and there to seed finder, click on the "Open" option and make sure it has the mark of Delay Below 10000, input your IVs and nature and check which Delay you are hitting, from there just adjust the Delay on Pikatimer and keeping doing that till you see you are hitting the delay you want :), good luck!

@toastplusone:
Yes, I have RNG'd before but only on my plat and then I didn't care about year date so I always got small delays. This would be my first time going for a legend in HG.
My calibration is 492/15 with just +-4 in the delay range.
Yes and yes. And just doubled checked and yes, I'm doing both and still no luck :S

@zerohours: Thanks mate, I will do that to see what I'm doing wrong.

I almost forgot, I was using bearsfan video for HGSS legends video and there's something I quite didn't get. He says you can use either JavaRNG or the seed finder on RNG reporter. I understand the Java RNG part, as the seed I'm using is the lowest frame one I got there. But when I do what he instructs in the seed finder method, I get no results when converting from Method 1 to K. What exactly would I be doing wrong? (not in this case as the seed did give me the expected result, but just in case for future RNGs)

Just one last question: what do people normally guide themsleves by? the sound pikatimer makes or the countdown?

I use ToastPlusOne's timer with Visual Mode and I just count the number of times the thing goes pink. ToastPlusOne's timer is far more accurate, IMO. I have no idea how. . . it just is.

Hey guys, Enigma Stone Latios in HG would be Method K (standing legend) right? Or are its IV's/Nature determined at an earlier point?

Method K. Its IVs are determined right when you hit A to battle it. I'd do around two or three less Elm Calls when you go to RNG abuse it, due to the high number of NPCs. That's what I did. My spread was on frame 5, I had 3 roamers, so as soon as I verified my seed by checking the roamers I immediately battled it. It got the correct frame.

Is Emerald RNG abuse considered more or less difficult than 4th gen RNG abuse? Specifically, for Legendary shininess and IV's.

It's pretty much exactly like hitting a seed. I mean the whole RNG abuse. It's 100% time based. However, with breeding, there's no way to control the natures, abilities, or shininess of a Pokemon. So, it's your decision really.

Oh. In that case, if it starts a few frames in, it's fine as well. You just have to recognize it and see where you started. If you get the 3rd response in, you started at frame 3.

Or was your frame just not high enough to verify?

Are you using the same seed? Check your date? Check the numbers you used in the timer?

Hey I was wondering aswell, what could explain the reason for my elm calls to start 2 letters in?

Edit: Finally hit that god dam seed ^^. Thanks winterzombie, bakus and toastplusone soo much. I now know what to do if it starts 2 frames in TT___TT

edit 2: does everyone use JavaRNG to find iv spreads for stationary legendaries?

I think it'd be easier because you don't have to sync your in-game clock, and doesn't Emerald always start off on a seed of 0? and why do I hear it referred to as "broken"?

Hmmmm, I have a bit of a problem... In my calibration phase in my HG game, all the delays were even, no problem.

Just redid the whole session of calibration and again, I got even numbers and fifteen seconds.

But when I'm going for a method K legendary with a high delay, all the adjacent results that I'm getting are odd. What exactly could be the cause of this? :S

Do you have a GBA game in? If you do, that changes it to even/odd

Say I want to forgo using the Elm calls to verify that I hit the correct seed in HGSS and just go by the locations of the roamers instead. Can I still abuse the RNG for wondercard Pokes and standing legendaries or do I have to have been to Kanto, beaten the E4, gotten Pokerus etc?

All right. Now that I have my ID/SID abuse done, I want to get through the game as quickly as possible.

How do I RNG for my starter pokemon? And if nobody feels like explaining it, could someone please link me to a good place to learn?

Hey, I'm trying to RNG the Arceus event sinjoh dragons (dialga/palkia/giratina). Where can I save and then soft-reset? Can I save on the triangle right before I choose which pokemon I want? If possible, answer "you can save on the triangle" or "no, you have to save waaaaaaaaay before" and don't refer me to page 1 :(
