Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Put in (or take out if you already have one in) a GBA Pokemon game. Or you can change the year on your DS up or down one. That will change your target delay to even. Increasing the year on the DS lowers the delay; decreasing the year raises the delay.

Thanks for that, I try that now.

EDIT: It is working, though I am still just off, I got 607 twice in a row. Nearly there :).

So, I still have that FAL2010 Mew that needs to be picked up from the Pokémart, what's the best way to RNG it? I want to have a flawless Jolly Mew. I know you have to hope you get the right nature, but how can I get it flawless?

It's generated by method 1. You can use any flawless spreads you can find.

There is only 1 way to RNG it. That method is wondercard RNG abuse. Theres a guide on it on the first page of this thread. Its pretty much the same thing hitting delays and all EXCEPT the nature is not fixed. So if you use the flawless all 31 seed, hit your frame and delay you may just end up with ANY of the 18 natures possible so yeah @_@

EDIT: Umm Musica I think you are wrong coz i'm pretty sure theres a separate method for WC RNG

My understanding is that the Method 1 and Wondercard IVs method produce the same results, except that one is 2 frames off from the other. So, 686 on one will be 688 on the other.

I was trying to get the Mew myself (going for not-max SA Jolly) and decided that it's too much hassle right now, especially where I plan on doing it for the Celebi that's on its way (and Celebi is much more important to me).

Is there a way to rng the starter pokemon on hg ?
Yes. It's just not easy. Your best bet is to aim for something on frame 1 for chikorita, 5 for cyndaquil or 9 for totodile. You'll have to look at them to see if you hit (assuming you're going for a shiny spread).

I just got my Squirtle; confirming that it's on frame 5 and not 1 as the OP states.
I don't know if it was there or not but it's not surprising. Thanks for the info either way.

Exactly right, wondercard = method1 + 2

There are 25 natures.

Soo if i find a spread which frame is 5, do i need to advance the frame in game or just picking up the cyndaquil would be be on frame 5?

Hope it makes sense Lol

Also where would i save, In Front of the pokeballs ?

Hey guys, I just hit my seed but my frame is advanced by two I think already, i.e.

my spread is P-P-K-K-P-E-E-P-K

but my first elm call started on K and turned out to be K-K-P-E-E-P-K + a few extras at the end, does this mean that I advance my frame by what I initially intended to -2, i.e. frame listed is 14, I only advance to 12.

It switches the target delay, not what you hit.

Narrowing it helps to keep from getting false results. It shouldn't be possible to be getting that far off unless you're doing something wrong. What are you RNGing for exactly?

What are your calibration settings (second, delay)?
I was trying to RNG for a shiny egg (sunkern if that makes any difference). My calibrated seconds = 13 and my calibrated delay = 499

Im still RNGing a Wondercard Arceus in my Platinum. I always either hit 1 frame too short or one frame too high. What gives? Am I supposed to collect it one frame shy or on the exact target frame? In my case it's target 26.

I have no roamers btw.

Your target is 26 therefore you neeed to do 12 journal flips(assuming you hit your delay) and then stop for a while letting the NPC advance the frame then pick up the Mon i.e Arceus. You are getting it wrong becuase the starting frame is 1, therefore on doing 13 flips you land up on 1+26=27

Oh!! Thanks so much., no wonder. I was so used to HG/SS 1 frame shy and all.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I'm having trouble opening Pikatimer. I got a new laptop yesterday (Yay :D) and today I downloaded RNGReporter and Pikatimer. RNGReporter is working fine, but Pikatimer won't open correctly. Is there some kind of Java program I need to download? Thanks.

try this:

-download the batch file i've linked to here and then copy and paste it into the same folder as pikatimer
-rename pikatimer from "pikatimer 2.0.2.jar" to "pikatimer.jar"
-double click on the batch file to run it

i've had this same issue with other java programs and that has taken care of it in the past.

pikatimer batch file:

Okay so how do I save the batch file into pikatimer? I renamed pikatimer. I ran the batch file and nothing really happened... It installed and that was it.
