Damn it. It didn't work. What the heck am I doing wrong?
EDIT: Oh great. Now it works. I think the reason why it didn't work in the first place because probably the emerald I'm using has been used or it's old, or because I'm not hitting at the right time. :P
Sit in the DS menu and start up the game when the first timer hits 0. You'll need to re-calibrate for that, though.
Hey, I have a problem here. When I'm trying to see if I hit my seed or not when hatching shiny pokemon, I enter it in the search elm function, to see what seed I hit. So, when was done calling him 9 times, I clicked the ok button, but instead of showing what seed I hit, it said,"No match was found for your Elm responses."

ok thanks elite. so basically all i have to worry for is the frame i am able to hit consistently right? once i have all the prerequisites (parents a and b, pokemon with magma armor/ flame body)? I best be going for an almost flawless 3rd gen ditto first then. :D
Some unwanted circumstances caused me to switch to a DS with no L/R buttons. I re-calibrated and all, but my timer's always 40 or so off, and I was breeding... in Platinum like I always do.
I shot for my calibrated frame, which was 8. I hit my delay after a few tries and found that the egg was actually on frame 9.
No problem, right? I just searched for a spread on frame 9 and found one on 11 (1 journal flip before talking to the day-care man) and hit 8 again, making the frame I actually got the egg on 10. At this point, I was kind of angry... so I went back to my frame 8 seed, and I hit frame 9 again.
This isn't the first time it's happened. I always talk to the Day-care man at the same timd, so I don't understand why SOMETIMES NPCs go and move and sometimes they don't... is there a reason why? Both seeds were on the same day, within 14 hours of each other.

So the formula would be
Target Frame - Frame Advancements made by roamers - Frame where pokemon will be generated
Correct. Also, Lati@s, if KO'd as opposed to caught, will have his IVs and PID generated some frames (I think 5) after Raikou.

The only one you can abuse on a cart is Emerald. There's a guide for that.

I enter in all of my search terms in JavaRNG for method K, and the results it returns are for Method 1. I should know, I clicked "generate" for both 1 and K in RNG reporter, and they show up as being for method 1. Funny enough, though, it doesn't always do this.

Method K is no different than Method 1, other than the fact that some frames occur earlier than they do in method 1 (mainly due to synchronizers).

That's possible on a cart, but you'd need a way to get Mirage Island to be visible...

I had a thought though, am I just supposed to keep resetting until a good seed comes up and ignore the guide on Smogon? Any guidance at all would be appreciated.
