Well Rankurusu was never really much of a problem for balanced or offensive teams. They've just been complaining about going up against it with full stall.
Psycho Shock.
I hardly see any Rankurusu with Leftovers. On top of that, when I go to use Rank, I'm usually not thinking about any item other than Life Orb. You get a free damage boost, why wouldn't you want that? 3HKOs into 2HKOs, etc. Not all Rank players run Psycho Shock, so that's a saving grace for a non-defensive Ulgamoth. On the flipside, we're mostly being optimistic here and assuming Ulgamoth hasn't been neutered by Stealth Rock already.Wait what.... CM Reuniclus doesn't have a Life Orb.... and I'm assumming you used 252 SpAtk evs for that calc.... CM Reun runs no SpAtk evs...
Correct one: +1 Reun Psycho Shock vs 0/0 Volcarona= 71.4% - 84.2%
Although it still hurts like hell.
Team preview goes both ways. If you know your opponent has a Reuniclus, then you should know to keep your Ttar alive until Reuniclus shows itself.Sooo we're gonna assume every one has Ttar and call it fair game? =P On the PO server since u can see your opponent's team, they'll know to take care of Tar before sending out Rank.
Chandelure is also a nice counter.
It can always survive a +1 Psycho Shock/Psychic assuming no LO,and even then, with 32 EVs in HP or 20 EVs in Sp.def,a +1 Psychic with a LO does maximum 98%.
So,assuming you switched in on the CM(With the 32 HP EVs,you can barely be 2HKO'd by a +0 LO Psychic/Psycho Shock: 42.54% - 50.37%),you can 2HKO back with a STAB Shadow Ball: 55.66% - 65.57%
And if its in a trick room you'd lose though. But I guess you'd whittle it down a lot.
Sucker punching is honestly the only reliable way. And taunt or a lucky encore if your opponent doesn't see it coming.
What CM Rank doesn't run LO?Wait what.... CM Reuniclus doesn't have a Life Orb.... and I'm assumming you used 252 SpAtk evs for that calc.... CM Reun runs no SpAtk evs...

CM has Recover, and LO deals no passive damageHas anyone actually run Life Orb and preferred it over Leftovers? I can't imagine why. On Trick Room he needs the power but the CM set enjoys the additional durability.
CM has Recover, and LO deals no passive damage
Oh yeah, Blissey and Skarm, the set up sweepers that tear apart teamsYes I realize that, but Skarmory and Blissey enjoy Leftovers over other items even with the obvious benefits and both having reliable recovery.

Dragonite has no other recovery, and Jirachi has pretty bad recovery (compared to Recover). Secondly, you can Recover while it Paybacks, as it will only be 50 BPDragonite. CM Jirachi. The point remains... MOST Pokemon appreciate Leftovers because it aids in removing damage. And yes, now you are going to make a comment about Magic Guard, but not all damage is residual and Leftovers are useful for switching into Roobushin where you can't be using Recover while it Paybacks.

All those pokes need Lefties because of Residual. Also, don't even try to say wish is better than Recover on a set up sweeper. That's just stupid. And a +1 Roob can't OHKO (even close) with Payback and dies to a PsychicRoost. Wish is actually quite good. If you keep Recovering they will predict you and set up Bulk Up, hitting you harder to break through. I edited my post with a few others. I stopped looking because I thought that was sufficient, but there are plenty more.
