The Clear Entry Tournament

Approved by Earthworm and the tournament directors.

Introduction:

We've become so accustomed to the 4th generation metagame and all of the entry hazards that are used in it. However, sometimes we get to thinking about how it would've gone down without those entry hazards. Would Moltres be OU? How would stall work, if at all? This tournament attempts to explore those ideas by banning all of the entry hazards and forcing players to adjust to a metagame without them.

History:

General Tournament Rules:

  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • This is a single-battle, 4th generation OU tournament that has banned specific moves from being used in the matches.
  • The moves Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes are banned from use for the entirety of this tournament.
  • The banlists for this tournament are the same as for the ladders of the Smogon University server of Pokemon Online.
  • There will be a week (or so) of time for each round of the tournament. (Extensions for active members who simply cannot get together are OK) When signing up for the tournament, keep this in mind, as I will not hesitate to remove inactive players at the end of rounds or flip coins.
  • You must submit a log of your battle to me at the end of each battle. This is necessary so that I can ensure that all battle rules were followed appropriately.

Deadline:

The deadline for Round 3 is 11:59PM EST (GMT-5), 2/13/2011.
The deadline for extended Round 2 matches is 11:59PM EST (GMT-5), 2/6/2011.

Heh, I hadn't noticed that. All I checked was if I'd received a PM from or there were a post from either of you since you noted that you didn't like getting extension matchups. As neither of you had posted since then, I decided to extend the match. Since you have an extension matchup opponent, though, I'll leave you two matched for now in case your opponent reappears (though I don't expect it). If not, it's pretty clear that you'll get the win.
 
i told ian15 to pm me whenever he saw me on not past a certain time but nothing yet i guess we'll do it this weekends my times should be more flexible then and hopefully so should his

I'm sure that you both know how to schedule a match, but passively waiting for your opponent to take initiative is really not cutting it. Why don't you PM your opponents and schedule the match yourselves?
 
Never received any contact from my opponent, I'll send some stuff now. Also whoever wins this gets to play eo, wonderful.
