5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

thanks! cleared up a lot. just one more question:

i don't use the pikatimer thing or w/e and i built something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYXZ_aTAeRY) that automatically "A"s through the opening credits to hit the delay that i want it to hit. For HGSS, the minimum delay i could get was ~530 (i could of course set the robot to hit higher delays). SO MY QUESTION IS
what delay range should i use for BW? i looked at the link you advised me to see and the person set delays from 1600-6000. so what should i do?

possibly pertinent note: if my desired time was like 17:35:15 and the delay was like 530, i would set (not change) my DS clock to 17:34, then begin the automation process, then the robo-finger would click "play pokemon" at exactly 17:35:00, scroll through the opening credits, and would click "continue game" at 17:35:15.

Hi all,

New member here looking for some concrete info on RNGing in this game. I knew how to RNG in HG/SS and RNGed a fair few legendaries/ gift pokémon inthat generation. Now I'm looking to find out how to do it on BW.

First Pokémon I would like to try it on is either Victini or Zoroark.

I plan to use a synchronizer.

From what I've read the best way of advancing the frame for stationary legends/ events this time seems to be just saving the game which advances by 1 each time.

Firstly I wander if someone can give me any details on how to go about the initial calibration ( finding out calibrated delay and time in my game) for BW - to use in pikatimer.

Also how do I go about finding seeds? Previously I used PokeRNGDP to find seeds but this only seems to show method 1/J or K and I'm reading the method in BW is method 5...

Would be greatful for any tips!

Just accidently released thundurus into the wild, without RNGing it, if i knock it out, at what point will the IVs be reset, after beating the E4 like previous games?

Or rather at what point can I try and RNG it properly?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think a lot of research has been done in how its IVs are re-generated after beating the Elite Four. If I had to guess, it would be the same as how you regenerate the roamers in HeartGold/SoulSilver.

And there's also somethind that I don't get.
What's with the delay? Some procedure as in DPP/HGSS?

Delay for C-Gear seeds is the same as DPPt/HGSS.
Except for it doesn't get seeded when you enter the game, rather when you turn the C-Gear on.

So what you do is load the game, say no to the auto C-Gear load after clicking continue.
Than once in the game, hit the power button on the C-Gear, just don't hit yes until your second timer hits 0.

Alright, my last two dumb questions^^

1. Are the delays exactly the same as my ones in HG/SS (so that I can copy my former Delayrange) or is it simply the same procedure of calibrating (catching wild Pokemon, checking it's IVs and so on...)
2. My RNG Reporter doesn't show me a list at all (for flawless Pokemon). Is there something wrong or does it have to do with the (probably) wrong delay range?

1. It's the same procedure. You want a delay of over 1500 to be honest when using C-Gear.

2. Make sure you input your DS's MAC address. You will probably need to increase your max Frame and Min / Max Delays to a very large number to find flawless spreads. Again you should probably use a Minimum delay of 1500.

Yeah, I wrote the MAC address down, but nothing. Frames were about 2000 and the thing about the delay is clear now :>
So...this means I have to do this annoying Calibration thing again...=/

Anyway, thank you =)

What calibration?
All you need to do is, open time finder. Input the last part of your MAC. And fill in the rest.

What I did was >=30 on every stat. Max frame of 200. Min Delay 2,000. Max delay of 10,000.

You don't want a frame above 50. You can easily find the IV spread you're looking for with a frame of around 30 or less. Don't forget the only way to advance the frame is by walking 128 steps. Every 128 steps advances the frame by the number of Pokes you have in your party.

As for the number of frame advancements, it's your target frame - 3 for C-Gear. This works for anything except breeding, which would be your target frame - 10 (assuming you're doing C-Gear abuse).

The thing about the roamers is that you can easily RNG shininess (but don't ask about that now) and flawless IVs, but not both at the same time. The roamer is regenerated at the end of your battle with the E4 champion. However, the IVRNG is advanced in battle at 120 frames\second. You would need to find a very high frame (the tens, maybe hundreds of thousands) and then end the battle with the champion at the precise moment to get the IVs you want.

Needless to say, it's not going to be easy for you to RNG Thundurus. (Although RNGing shininess will be easy for you, once we release the next RNG Reporter.)

@xElite: So you have to count step by step until 128 and that will advance the frame by 6 if you have 6 in your party? And then just keep walking 128 more?

So little question for those that did C-Gear abuse without AR. How did you go about with the calibration phase? did you just try a seed and catch the first mon that popped up to check your delay? or am I being totally wrong now perhaps?

Another question. What's the deal with the two staged Delay Timer? Where can I get one?
And what does the "start the game" for the first timer means? Soft Resetting oder clicking continue?

(currently Seed to time says I have a Delay of 6742 and 150 Frames to catch a flawlesss Victini...and I stand right in front of it)

Precisely the process I used. To be specific I used Victini myself, but any stationary legendary (or any Pokemon attracted with sweet scent) will work. The higher the level of your Pokemon you are trying to capture, the better, since it makes it that much easier to verify your IVs and therefore your seed/delay.
So what am I doing w/ these boxes in time finder:

VCount, RWTimer, GxStat, VFrame.
If you are C-Gear RNGing, nothing. You can ignore them altogether.

That's way too high of a Frame, you'll be walking for a while and you'll lose count of your steps.
