Pokémon Black/White in-game discussion

Elesa was a piece of cake with Moxie Scraggy (being at good level helped too). I 2HKOed her first Emolga, then OHKOed her second emolga and her Zebstrika.

My current team is:
Scraggy (aka Sup) lv 31
Archen (aka Morm) lv 30
Simisear (aka Flamojojo) lv 30
Dewott (aka Wotter) lv 30

I also went a bit on battle subway, one streak, seems fun though.

What does everyone else think is the most annoying mon to go up against? Myself, every time I saw the words "The opponent ____ is about to send out Sigilyph!" I braced myself. God, nothing kills that thing. Not even my Acrobatics Archeos could OHKO it. >_<

Really? I never had a problem with it. Always got OHKO'd by Rock Blast or an electric move.

Definitely the rocks for me. Goddamn Sturdy.

Just a quick question... is it worth it to capture the 720 pokemon to fill the boxes just to be able to RNG/soft reset for a good reshiram/zekrom at Dragonspiral Tower? I'm in the process of gearing up for the E4 and i want to know if I should by the 700+ repeat balls to camp on Rt. 1... My team as it stands for the E4 is as such:

Samurott (Lv. 53) - Waterfall, Blizzard, Surf, X-Scissor
Excadrill (Lv. 51) - X-Scissor, Earthquake, Swords Dance, Rock Slide
Haxorus (Lv. 53) - Dragon Dance, Slash, Brick Break, Dragon Claw
Mienshao (Lv 50) - Acrobatics, Strength (lol), Poison Jab, Jump Kick
Sawsbuck (Lv. 50) - Jump Kick, Horn Leech, Faint Attack, Take Down
Braviary (Lv. 52) - Shadow Claw, Aerial Ace, Crush Claw, Fly

If you're willing to put up with having to deal with the nonsense of forced plot battles and you're able to calibrate your timer through such nonsense, I say it's probably faster to RNG in N's Castle than Dragonspiral Tower in the long run.

Well do you at least get a chance to save before the battle with the respective version mascot?

It's too bad that the 2 synchronizers in the game aren't all that great from what people say.
Does it matter? Put it in your lead slot, and switch out on the first turn to your Capture Pokemon that will actually weaken/status your legendary.

Ugh. I was SRing for Reshiram, and unfortunately you can't check Nature until either after you battle both N and the Sage or by killing it and catching it later at DT. I didn't know the latter, and I just assumed I could check after the battle and SR. Turns out the game saves immediately after beating the two final bosses and the only way to check the stats on Reshiram/Zekrom is the purposely lose one of the two battles, get sent to a Pokecenter, and check there for SRing.

I forgot that last bit and beat the final two bosses and the game saved. I am now stuck with a Lax Reshiram with all IVs below 15 except for 29 Sp.D and 31 Spd.

FACK.

I don't suppose there is anyway to rectify this without restarting? Which I'm not doing. Gah.

Or have it faint and put it in the lead slot. Easy enough... Is there a way to check its nature/IVs before battling N and Ghetsis?
With the exception of Speed, no. For Speed, you can always use the "one-under" technique: Get a Pokemon with exactly 1 less speed than what you want. If Reshiram/Zekrom outspeed, then you're golden.

Yeah, but you can't check its nature which is unfortunate =(

If you are RNG'ing you would know if you hit your nature since you know what IV's to expect. You'd simply have to compare your stats to the expected values for a given nature.

You should still be able to guess the nature using an iv calculator even if you're not RNG'ing.

how accurate is this? because this was my plan.. to kill and catch it later.. but if it's a 1 time meeting.. obviously i wont/

It's not a one time meeting. You either capture it at N's Castle, or you fill your PC boxes and your party before you fight at N's Castle. If you do the latter, you get a second chance at Dragonspiral Tower.

Was anyone else impressed by the story in these games? It may just be the new-game high talking, but I think B/W have the best writing out of any Pokemon game to date. It still shares a lot of weaknesses with Japanese media aimed at kids - I.E, overblown scenarios, overstated theme, etc. But still, I couldn't help but feel a little emotional at the end there. In general, there were more weighty ideas than have ever show up in the series. Bianca being held back by her overbearing Dad, the ethics of capturing and battling Pokemon (although the ambiguity of this was kind of ruined at the end). I was surprisingly moved.

so it's either 1 or the other.. i can't have a box or 2 full, and kill it.. then have it reappear afterwards.
Er...you need your entire PC filled up before you battle it in N's Castle to make it appear in Dragonspiral Tower. Or else you MUST capture it in N's Castle.

Either way, you still battle it in N's Castle.
