5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Just wanted to check on something,I'm gonna RNG Zekrom
So the frame advancment needed is 27-3-1+1=24
Sooo,Once i get in the game and turn the C-Gear on i should move 24x128 if i have one pokemon in my party,Right?
Correct.

You can also do:
12 x 128 with 2 Pokemon
8 x 128 with 3 Pokemon
6 x 128 with 4 Pokemon
4 x 128 with 6 Pokemon

Delay keeps ticking even after you've turned it on/off. It's still seeded when you turn it on. Turning it off will not reseed.
So theoretically:

Turn on C-Gear at 1500 delay, leave it on for a short time.
Turn it off
Turn on C-Gear a second time at 10,000 delay.

I'm now re-seeded at 10,000 delay?

If that's the case, do RNG advances affect the re-seed?

Again, not quite a RNG question, but I figure it belongs here the most:

Will RNG Reporter's built-in IV checker be updated with all of the 5th Gen Pokemon?

So theoretically:

Turn on C-Gear at 1500 delay, leave it on for a short time.
Turn it off
Turn on C-Gear a second time at 10,000 delay.

If that's the case, do RNG advances affect the re-seed?

I haven't tried it so I can't say with 100% certainty but theoretically, yes. Problem with that of course is that you'll be on a different second that you were the first time. Remember that the whole date/time thing is factored into it as well so the 10,000 delay probably isn't the seed that you're thinking it is.

I don't think that RNG advances it.

Let's say my final target frame is 10, Could I withdraw once and then save the game 3 times to equal it?

No. Withdrawing affects the IVRNG while saving affects the PIDRNG. You have to walk 128 steps with 3 Pokemon after withdrawing to get your final frame of 10.

ok so what if i walk 128 steps with 3 pokemon and withdraw once and i saved after, it would'nt change anything right?

Question. Do spreads have pre-set natures and abilities with them? Because I was trying to RNG a Frillish with Water Absorb, and everytime I hit my flawless spread it was Cursed Body. I'm just curious.

I feel silly for asking this, but how are IVs generated for double battles?

No. The IVRNG and PIDRNG (for natures and such) are independent of each other this generation.

I have a question regarding running RNG Reporter 9 on an intel Mac. I was able to run 8.30, and for a short time I was able to run 9, but for some reason, mono won't respond whenever I try to open the program now, so I can't run RNG Reporter on my intel Mac. I'm hoping that this is the place to post this, since it regards the Gen V RNG, but if this belongs in Simple Questions/Answers I apologize. Thanks for any help, fellow Smogonites!

Repeating the same actions gives you the same results. Next time try saving once to advance the PID RNG before sweet scenting. You should get something different.

There is a native Mac application for RNG abuse that will be released at the same time as the next RNG reporter so that people will no longer need to fight with mono in order to find seeds, etc.

Having issues regarding calibrating over here. I've been trying to get a good calibrated delay for a couple hours now to no avail... it keeps jumping around, and I never quite hit the delay I was shooting for.

I'm trying to RNG Cobalion using my DSi. Seed 71489A5A, frame 8. Date 2011 03 19, time 23:56:00, and delay 2677.
I understand all the steps, when to reset, how to use the timer (using ZOMG), etc., this calibrating thing is just confusing.

Here's my attempts at calibrating (put in a spoiler since it's kind of long):
I started at -95, since that would appear to be what everyone recommends.

First I hit a delay of 2723, updated the timer to get a calibrated delay of -49.
Then hit 2675, updated to -50.
2672, updated to -54.
2679, updated to -53.
2674, updated to -55.
2682, updated to -51.
2675, updated to -56.
2687, updated to -49.
2685, updated to -43.
2672, updated to -47.
2678, updated to -46. At this point I missed the time by 6 seconds
2675, updated to -47. Missed time again by 3 seconds

As you can see it doesn't seem to want to pick a spot, although I did hit a couple of those multiple times, still not the target delay...
I've been starting the timer as I set the time to one minute before the target, resetting as the first timer ends, and turning the C-Gear on in-game as the second ends.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it supposed to look like this? Or is it a timing issue (in which case I suppose I should keep trying at it)?

Sorry for the extremely n00bish question and/or unnecessary details (wanted to be thorough haha). Thanks in advance to those who can offer advice, though!

If you're hitting close don't update and see if you keep hitting close. Eventually you'll hit your seed. Looks like you hit pretty close with -49 so you should just keep using that and see what happens. You should try several times before updating. Sometimes you'll hit too high or too low with the same calibration which is why updating after every one try isn't such a good idea. This happens to me all the time in this game.

Few questions about cgear rng and zomgtimer

when you enter the seed into generate more times, it gives you a list of times and dates. How do you which secod is the right one? In ther words, if you have a delay of 1935 how do you know how many seconds it will take you?

Also, at the end of the first timer (zomg) what are you supposed to be doing? And at the second?

You choose whichever second you want. I've always used 50 so I insert that in the little box at the top and it automatically brings up all the times and dates that have 50 seconds.

The end of the first timer is exactly the same as Gen 4 (soft reset or press A to load game from DS menu).

At the end of the second timer you have to click "yes" in-game to turn on the C-Gear on that screen that gives you the warning. So you click on continue, click no when it says "launch c-gear communications," click "yes" when it says some functions of the c-gear will be restricted. Now it'll say the season and you'll be in game. You click on the power-on button of the C-Gear and press yes when the second timer reaches 0.
