5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Ok so I want to give catching wild Pokemon a try...it's basically the same principle as with stationary legendaries right, in that you go out and save in some grass, do the reset and hit your delays and such, advance the frame if necessary using repel and walking, then just sweet scent one to you? Or I must be missing something...it can't be that easy is it?

It's that easy ;)

Quick Question: I'm very familliar with hitting seeds in gen 4 btw. But is this RNG only for the japanese version? And will I need AR to RNG now? And lastly are Smogon still finding other ways to RNG eggs?

You can abuse with the C-Gear to RNG IVs, on any language/version. Everything else is just luck.
You do not need an AR to RNG.
Japanese versions can RNG shinies, when the next version comes out it will support US and more.

Egg RNG is half based on inheritance, and half based on the MTRNG. You can control half, and the rest is luck.
Egg RNG has been figured out for non C-Gear abuse, which will be possible on english games in no time.

Hello, I already had two successes in RNG with Virizion and Terrakion, but now that I started to RNG Kyurem, some problems started apearing.

I want to capture a normal timid Kyurem with 31/22/31/30/31/30 HP (Fire). My Seed is 155A8996 with Frame 3 and Delay 3002. My MAC adress is 497DD1 and I'm using the white Version.

So I started preparing everything to capture Kyurem and saved after standing in front of it. Then I used the EonTimer to know what Delay I hit and updated EonTimer. From there on my problems started. I captured it like 150 times already, but it only had a timid nature like 20 times (I'm using the same timid Elgyem with Synchro which I used to capture Virizion). Either I got extremely unlucky or.. I'm doing something wrong.

Furthermore, the Kyurems which were *not* timid, were VERY often (>50%) modest (And again, I'm using a timid Elgyem at my lead position). And what upsets me the most.. during all these tries, the Kyurem with my wished IVs never showed up. I invested less time for Terrakion/Virizion together then for this Kyurem.

I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.. I'm doing it the exact same way as for the other two. And since my frame is 3, I don't even have to advance it like I had to do for Virizion..

try saving before capture, as that helps increase the chance. Alot of it I find is luck but hope you get it.

Is RNGing possible on the 3DS?

When counting steps for frame advancing (128 steps for Z frames), does turning on the same spot count as a step?
Pretty sure it turning does not count as a step (so if you dont have sweet scent you could just turn to get a pokemon. That's what you have to do in the desert for darumaka)

Thanks.
Decided to start working on Zekrom, but the only seed I can find with a spread I want needs a frame advancement. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't make a mistake.

A little help here ^^
Does turning and not walking let you encounter pokes in Desert Resort & Route 4?
Because sweet scent don't work at those places, and I wanna RNG Darumakka & Sigilyph soon...

Hello everyone ^^.

Don't know if I'm allowed to talk about non C Gear yet, but I'd need a piece of information about something.
I read somewhere in this thread that the frame that controls nature/gender/ability jumped to something like +60 when trying to RNG eggs (with non C Gear, that is).
Is that true ? If so, is the exact advancement value known ?
Thanks for any help, and have a good day :)

It does make a considerable jump. The amount is variable.

Is a lower frame better for a seed? For ex. I have 4 quintflawless options, one of them is frame 36
A lower frame means you have less need to advance the RNG. The lowest possible frames for C-Gear RNG abuse:

* 4 for Tornadus and Thundurus (the Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed IVs are reordered)
* 10 for eggs (both the daycare, and the Larvesta egg)
* 3 for all stationary legendaries (the musketeers, all three dragons, Victini, Landorus), all other stationary Pokemon (Musharna, Volcarona, Darmanitan, High Link Pokemon,), all gift Pokemon (Zorua, the monkeys, starters although technically impossible to C-Gear abuse), and all other wild pokemon (grass, surfing, fishing, Zoroark).

Couple of questions, hope I'm not breaking any rules:

1) Do I have to RNG Zekrom with C-Gear or which is easier?
2) On ZOMG timer I press 'A' on the title screen when the first timer hits zero. When it asks if I want to on the C-Gear, I say No then on it once I reach I'm in the game and the second timer hits 0. Is this right?
3) With C-Gear do I have to use a synch?
4) When is the first time I can see the nature of Zekrom after catching it?

1. If you're using a US version Pokemon Black/White, you must C-Gear abuse.
2. No. when ZOMGtimer's first timer runs out, you soft reset (L + R + Select + Start). While the second timer is ticking, you are going into the game itself (do not start the C-Gear at the continue screen). Once you are in game and have control of your character, you power on the C-gear, but do not hit Yes yet. You hit Yes as soon as the second timer on ZOMGtimer runs out.
3. It's highly recommended you use a synchronizer.
4. If you know what you're doing, you can look at its stats in the battle with N and deduce it's nature. Or if you use a 1-under Pokemon, you can deduce its speed (find a target speed, and bring a Pokemon with exactly 1 less speed. If Zekrom outspeeds, you hit your speed target, but not necessarily your nature). Then capture Zekrom and intentionally lose to N (do not let your Zekrom kill N's Reshiram).

Thanks, In 4th Gen instead of SRing I pressed A on the DS menu to start the game, will that work on 5th Gen?

Hello everyone. The timing of spring break could not be any better for me. I present the video tutorial on C Gear abuse for Legends and Wild Pokemon.

Have fun.

Awesome dude all your other videos helpe me a lot so now I'll watch this one. This is the best time for posting this Vid for me as I'm going to start RNG tomorrow :)

Not a bad video. I can't see any glaring flaws with the process, other than EonTimer lets you input the delay you actually hit, so that you don't have to manually adjust your delay every time (it updates it for you).

It's a low resolution (240p apparently) so it's hard to see much of anything.

So how does RNGing for Egg IVs work, specifically? I know I'm going to breed my perfect ditto w/ the correct-natured, everstoned parent, but I don't know how to find a seed for Egg IVs to tell what will be passed down.

You don't if you use C-Gear. Hatch and check is your best method.

Minimum C-Gear egg frames are frame 10.
