Pokémon Black/White in-game discussion

Am I the only person that uses a tally counter to count their EVs? That's why I always found the EV person useless since I know exactly how many EVs my Pokemon have. I've heard other people count PP, and that's seems a little...risky, especially if you miss a few times.

I use tallys too. But I'm glad the ev person is there. I just confirm with that person to see if the evs are indeed full or not.

That's why you use 100% accurate moves. I'll use pencil and paper together with counting PP, usually, then check with the EV personm when I'm finished just to make sure.

Something weird happened in my game yesterday. I was battling the last member of the Riches and my Vanillish got KO'd by Haxorus, but as it fainted, I thought I saw 1 HP left on its bar. Sure enough, the "select a pokemon" screen indicated that Vanillish had 1 HP and had not fainted. I tried to send it back in battle but it said "That pokemon is already in battle!"

At this point, I had no choice but to send out another pokemon. I sent out Unfezant, and the game froze as soon as it came out of its pokeball. *facepalm*

I have no idea what might have caused this. I am pretty sure it was not a simple rounding error between 0 and 1 HP remaining, because Haxorus' Dragon Pulse should have killed Vanillish easily. (In other words, it was not a borderline case.)

it was way easier to ev train in dppt

Poketch fuck yeah

There isn't an in-game calculator in BW? FUCK. That was virtually the only useful thing about the Poketch, screw the shoddy roamers in DPPt (save for Zapdos)! So now I have to tally on a piece of paper :(

Also Larvesta is the cutest thing that ever existed, if you Mudkip-loving madmen thought otherwise. Volcarona is god tier if you can count post-game catches; no training needed -- just replace Heat Wave with the more reliable Flamethrower. Enjoy your sweepage of all under the sun, and remember not to run out of PP! I'm definitely going to call my Volcarona 'Slake' when I get the English version in June (I only have Japanese).

wait
what

I though Haxorus cannot learn Dragon Pulse?

I'm trying to catch tornadus now, I have serebii up telling me the routes it shows up on during the morning. Does that area have to have that serious storm like when I first saw tornadus or just a raining area?

Also, heading to victory road now, do I need any HM's while I'm in there like strength/surf?

Very Serious Storm.

The weather for all battles will still be rain though. Essentially, if there is a heavy thunderstorm, Torna/Thundurus is likely napping on that route, so there you go.

I don't believe you NEED either, but Strength is helpful for setting up backtracking paths, especially to the healer dude in the middle.

Where is the sun stone, I need to evolve my petilil now T_T;, and I need an exact location, I know it's around desert resort or somethin'.

A person on the second floor of the house right above the Pokemon Center in Nimbasa City will give you one, I believe.

Any one other than me earn their Dream World eeveelutions from the Global Link website? Mines ready to go once they get the Dream World working. I nabbed a Vaporeon.

Naxte gave you an answer, but I'll give you a tip...

TALK TO EVERYONE!!!! O_O

Make sure you talk to any and every NPC in this entire game. Many of them give priceless items. I missed the free monkey Pokemon because I didn't talk to the lady when I was playing the japanese version, and after that I don't leave a city until every NPC has been chatted with! Most give you TMs anyways. Its worth it.

I tried it yesterday, and I got a Jolteon. But since Quick Feet on Jolteon is kinda ..., I said no and tried again.
Then I got a Flareon, but I still wasn't satisfied, so I tried again, and I got Espeon. Go Magic Bounce!

I can't wait for the Dream World to start.

It's kind of funny how some of the costumes and whatnot are limited or not available yet, but if you change your region a different set becomes not available - so you can mix and match to get stuff not totally even available yet from one region...

Gah. I'm not bad at break out, but that site makes it practically impossible to play well; it eats up 100% of my CPU, with no options to lower the quality or anything. Don't Nintendo care about people with rubbish computers? Guess I'll have to wait until the family PC is free...

(And when a website eats up 100% of my CPU my wifi drops and I get disconnected because it's not getting enough CPU to stay running. So it's kind of like a self defeating thing.)

So how many levels does the breakout thing have? I've been having similar problems to Showsni, but instead of completely cutting out, it skips occasionally. I need to know whether to give up and try again on a different computer, or just keep going on mine.

You realize if you wanted Espeon in the first place you could have just caught all the psychic orbs (and ingored every other orb) and earned it on the first try right? ;)

Only 4 levels. Its quite easy. Took me 3 tries. The first try I killed myself because I thought if I lost I'd get to pick anyways. The second time I got to level 3 and got cocky and lost too many lives to survive the 4th level. And the 3rd time I breezed through.

Make sure to catch all of the orbs that are the same type as the Eevee you wish to catch. IE: If you want Vaporeon, catch all the water ones. (The ice ones look REALLY similar though.)

I amanged to do it fairly easily on the other computer; you need to complete four levels, as Bombkirby said. I had one annoying try where I lost on the last brick of the last level due to dodging the ball as it came to me... Oh well, got my Espeon now. Back to playing Sableye's gem game!
